It is the 10th of November, 1910. Porfirio Diaz had fixed the election! Democracy in Mexico is a fraud and Presidential-contender Francisco I. Madero has called for a revolt against the Porfiriato. In response, Maderista Toribio Ortega has led armed men into Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua and seized it in the name of "Sufragio Efectivo, No Re-elección".

Peasants and workers across Mexico seize the opportunity, la Revolución has erupted! It is up to you to guide this revolution to a satisfactory conclusion!

~ ~ ~ ~
In 1910, Mexico erupted into armed discontent.
Who do you support?

[] The Porfiriato. The President has ruled since '84, why should we turn against him now? Viva el Porfirio, Viva la Republica!

[] The Maderistas. The Porfiriato is a den of corruption and perversion, Madero is the only source of redemption for our people! Viva la Madero, Viva la Revolución.

[] The Outsiders. The Porfiriato may be corrupt, but Madero is no better. Why side with an autocrat or an aristocrat? Viva la Revolución, Viva el Mexico!

However who you are isn't the only question brought before you. Where you are is equally important!

Where is your support?

[] el Norte -
The deserts and mountains of the north hide hardy farmers, squalid forts, and banditos. From la Baja to Chihuahua and Sonora, these lands are the most difficult to take and difficult to lose. Land is often concentrated in the hands of titled aristocrats and their haciendas.

[] la Centro - Heartland of Mexico's agriculture, the haciendas rule the roost and the peasanos do all the work for the privilege of living in a room. To feed or not to feed, that is the question, however this region is hard to swap, as the enfiefed ideals of colonial Mexico are still strong here.

[] la Metrodad - The heart of Mexico, it is the city of Mexico and it's surrounding environs. Home of the rich, the poor, and the entitled, it is the most populated bastion of support, but at the wiles of whomever has the ears of the mover and shakers, both high and low.

[] la Sur - From Oaxaca to Chiapas, this is a region of biodiversity, white sand beaches, and hot blooded politics. Separatist ideals haven't left the cultural memory, nor the discontent of it. The south is one of the most broiling areas in Mexico and a den of revolutionary thought.

[] la Yucatan - Ethnic Mayan states surrounding the eponymous Yucatan State, they just found a brutal war wherein the Mexican and the Mayan engaged in mutual slaughter. The Yucatan is a series of broken states, where it was once united. This Revolution could be the last chance for a true founding of Yucatan identity, however there are many challenges and the haciendas had just resumed control over the Mayan Masses.

This game is a pseudo-Civ quest game wherein the individual votes as a cast of support within a region to influence the Mexican Revolution. This game will take place in an updative format and will end when there is a final solution to the Mexican Revolution.

Vote casting will be done via the Riot system (somewhat appropriately).

This game aims to be kinda realistic, but at the same time I won't restrict things if I think they are fun and reasonable to happen. I just want all of us to have a good time.

A good source of info for those out of the know is here. Otherwise I'm kinda making this up as I go along, but I've GMed multiple times before so I'm not exactly worried about a thing.

Many thanks to @Photomajig for his game for providing a template in which to build on.

Proposing we go this route and see about carving out a niche pro-Yucatan rebellion.

I second Noco; emerge from the wood and stir up some trouble.

If we go the yucatan path we could call ourselves the New Mayan Republic(or whatever goverment type we have)

@Dadarian What is the Riot System though?

To quote the rules:
Riot! A very interesting twist on the standard Majority Wins style of voting, the Riot vote system is one where every vote is taken into account. What this means is that every vote is turned into an action, regardless of how many people support it. However, the more people who support an action/vote, the more time/bonuses/etc are applied to the action.

Also don't forget to vote for the location where your outsiders are!

Er, are you sure you meant to tag me in the OP? I've never run a Quest like this on SV.
