[] Plan: 2-Badge Drilbur By Friday
-[] Dig Deep
-[] The Other Half of the Battle

If we do both of Drilbur' XP actions today, we'll only have 300 XP left to earn by Friday. We might actually habe a shot at curbstomping Katy's team :D

...did the Pawniards ever realize the Tinkatink wasn't one of them?
Only Word of God from Arvis could convince me that the Pawniards had any idea that Tink wasn't an actual Pawniard. It's simply too funny a scenario for me to imagine otherwise.

"Look, she has the helmet so she's clearly one of us. She's just got a funny accent, and a skin condition, we think."

To argue for taking an optional task, we'll probably fight wild Pokemon at some point during them, which will also give us Poke XP.

Also, fun fact for Nemona; the pre-Leader test DC is 16, and her SKLL is 15, so mechanically she literally couldn't lose. RIP Gym Trainer-san.

I do love that Dark types are extra effective against Fairy prank bullshit. I wonder if that would've gotten Roland too

He invites this depressed Pawniard to join the team only to find out too late that it was actually a Nefarious Fae Trickster

Oh my gosh Auxiliary Drilbur is so adorable. I regret nothing and eagerly await her promotion to Warrant Officer Excadrill, Combat Engineer. Roland, on the other hand, is showing more and more of that dragon pride mixed with ghost bitterness we've been warned about, though beyond that I think I detect a bit of a superiority-inferiority complex as well, which troubles me since it points to Mary's own worst tendencies rubbing off on him.

I'm tempted to go for one of the options that gets Drilbur XP, but we do have what's probably going to be a fairly easy fight with the gym trainer to get XP from.
If I'm reading things correctly the gym trainer isn't a Major Battle, only the gym leader, and with the SKLL DC being 14 Mariana literally cannot lose that first fight, unless a 1 is a critical fumble. So yeah, an easy win.

Well, good to know it's not just about us Nemona obliviously throws shade at  Poor Jacinto, but at least he now has something that's not a birb following him around all the time.
Tbh unless my memory sucks, Nemona never even threw that much shade at Mary; I don't remember Nemona ever so blatantly dismissing Mary's skill like she did with Jacinto here. She's insensitive and oblivious but otherwise most of the hurt is Mariana self-flagellating and letting Nemona live rent-free in her head.

Poor Jacinto though. Is what happens when you're friends with Nemona, get trashed in the round robin, and have 11 SKLL.

The Lost Woods sidequest is tempting me a lot, though not because of the rewards but more because of potential plot, and I admit I'm intrigued.

Could you imagine how it would have been if we'd had Zubat as a starter, who was described as "Is just like you frfr."

Tbh unless my memory sucks, Nemona never even threw that much shade at Mary
Yeah, looking back, what she said to us was way nicer than what she said to Jacinto here.

[] Plan: Dragon Rescue
-[] Day Two Optional Task: The Lost Woods
-[] Song of Roland

[] Plan: Dragon Smoothie
-[] Day Two Optional Task: Herbal Horticulture
-[] Song of Roland

Just doing some theorycrafting.

"Why do you surrender your goals so readily?" The meanie with the stick asks Commander Blue.

"What do you know of goals, witch?" Blue snaps at the meanie, who only smiles in return.

"My mistress has an offer for you, Commander Blue." Blue gives Drilbur a small glare, who can only sheepishly smile in response.
Well, shininess is apparently genetic here. Considering it bred true. So I guess she's not as outrageously lucky as she otherwise would be.

I've seen one shiny in all of Paldea so far, and it was a god damned Hoppip. (I blame this thread).

Also, thinking of Pawniard's dad going missing, I wonder if the poachers are involved? Shiny Bisharp probably has a hefty price tag.

Good god it must be awkward for him to hold a cup with his blade hands.
Pokémon are built different. I never got an answer for how a Combee held a pitcher of lemonade in the last update.

Compared to that? Pawniard has it easy.

...did the Pawniards ever realize the Tinkatink wasn't one of them?
They don't need a misconception. Anyone willing to fight alongside you is your brother!

Tink!

Or sister!

Yeah, looking back, what she said to us was way nicer than what she said to Jacinto here.
Just as the degree to which Mariana rizzes up Erika can vary from day to day, precisely how far Nemona shoves her foot in her mouth on any particular occasion is up to the whims of fate.

I lowkey regret we didn't pick that Zubat, it would have been hilarious. But in truth I lowkey regret we couldn't have ALL THE STARTERS because they all seemed so fun and full of personality. Alas, time and word-count aren't infinite so a choice had to be made.

why can't we be friends with all of them this is outrageous it's unfair

Anyhoo, for the vote, I still want to do at least one sidequest, preferably Lost Woods, but I'll admit that Herbal Horticulture seems to be the safer option. The DC is way lower and failure still gives us most of the rewards except the Berries, instead of just 50%. Still think I'd go for Lost Woods personally, but that failure chance is a consideration.

Regarding the social actions, we do have Thursday and Friday as well to take them. Renne feels like one we can skip for today since Drilbur/Roland are more urgent.

If we do take a Drilbur action, I'd prefer The Other Half over Dig deep. The former doesn't need a roll, also gives 200 XP to Roland, gives both 1 move XP and gives Bond points for Erika and Theodora; even accounting for the potential extra 100 XP it's objectively better.

I think Crystalline Cat should be a lock-in, reguardless of the other action. Getting Renne willing to fight for us is the biggest difference we can make to our capacity to challenge gyms, and we're limited to once a week otherwise. I really want to have an action with Drilbur aswell, but the sidequests are also neat and rewarding. We do need to take one either today or tomorrow before our gym battle, but it could be tomorrow.

I like this plan, some appreciation for our ghost noodle and the posibility to see what up with the woods seems good to me. Besides like some othdr posters mentioned i have a feelling this might be a time sensitive quest with potential bad endes if ignored, also it seems Ostia and Argy were looking for something in there, so who knows might find something "interesting" *read: dangerous*
Aditionally if this pattern of a previous exclusive being avaible next day we could always pick the Horticulture quest tomorrow.

Yeah, I approve of a bond action with Roland after he just won a fight. Also important given that he has antagonistic relations with both other team members and we probably want to prevent that from causing Issues in the future.

yeah, agreed, especially since regular bonding actions are twice as pricey, so picking one here saves even more

Yeah I'd definitely support a cat plan if someone could convince me I'm overthinking with Roland, just for the sheer weekly AP savings. Hopefully it'll still be available Thursday.

I feel it's best to go look for the missing person.
With the increased aggressiveness of wild Pokémon it's got a high chance of ending badly.
