End of Night 5/Start of Day 6
The party of nine from where they had entered in the night comes out to a party of seven, all of them looking as two more of their numbers have vanished. And so like every night prior, the two missing are revealed.

The first is revealed as Reisen Inaba, Moon Rabbit on Earth (@Shalmoa), who 'died' from a Knock on the Head.

The second is revealed as Alice Margatroid, Seven-Colored Puppet Master (@dinomannitro6), who 'died' from being Knocked Out In A Closet.

And a message is left upon the table to read.

Reevals needed on Walker's flip
Everyone needs progressions now IMO
Hobo's vote NAI even if late due to self-pres
Other votes probably won't get good info at this point
Not sure if absences are notable right now (Dino/Comi, YP to a lesser extent)
Figure one more affordable miss ATM but needs serious discussion given game length
Probably makes it a good spot to fill out claim space
Wiadi, Comi, Atoms are the only unclaimed ATM
Atoms can clear with N5 Town kill, Wiadi/Comi mech-locked out of Odd-Night TKP

And so the seven members of the party begin the sixth day…

End of Day is at

This is a good point. The flavor is we're Touhou characters playing mafia, so rather than the character's ability(s), we're probably given the ability(s) of the role they were assigned.
I will place one datapoint against that theory.

My ability is kind of unconventional, actually. On the one hand I'm pumped because it's really neat, but like-
It's also really bad? It would take a convoluted scenario for it to actually matter.
as someone who has scummed with you, seeing this makes me immediately think "no it isn't, you're probably hyperfixating on one specific scenario as the ideal and ignoring any other possible utility" :V

??? I mean, I can hyper fixate, but I'm very good at figuring out all the possible ways a role can be used?

The thing you're thinking of is just my love of gambits as scum.
choo.

There, I finished your post for you.

Yeah trying to do this off flavor seems like a bad idea...

What do you mean we're on page 12 now!? We were on page 10 just a few minutes ago.

I don't think that it's that far, considering my own power is definitely flavored around something that my character can do, I'm just saying that even if Rule 1 of the Touhou Mafia Christmas game was out it wouldn't mean anything because this game is in-universe fiction

My whole post was a reaction to Zaealix saying I was soft-claming Keine by calling myself a revision demon, and A) I was going to call myself a revision master before I realized that revision demon flowed better and B) I am enough of a touhou nerd that I would never ever ever confuse a demon with a youkai and would've called myself the revision youkai instead

So yeah, shrugs

Also there's like an expected 5 or 6 Touhous who could plausibly show up at this meetup who's abilities could easily be stretched into "And now nothing is going according to plan! :V"

I have similar thoughts but I havea feeling that it's going to be distraction somewhat? idk how to feel about it yet.
Not sure what the "but" is doing in here? Ori was already saying it was WIFOMy which fully aligns with it being a distraction if overthought.
There has been some discussion about disallowing proxy voting already, them occurring now is more just galvanizing actually writing something up rather than being in any real way game related. Tentatively, the proxy vote ban for this game will be under the playing to win rule which will be edited to address this.
Hm. I dunno that I agree with proxy votes being non-playing-to-win - in fact I can think of a couple scenarios where they're actively tactically advantageous - but I'm fine with a ban regardless, just quibbling with the reasoning.
Kay,
So.
Bean pipes up.
A lot of people seem to react to it with 'sus but makes sense to claim early'
I say nay-nay.
Hermit does a lot of work trying to argue the intent is to make clear double-voting is a thing Bean can do so Town can be clear on that.
Now this is the bit where I got nutso.
Hermit calls him?self a revision demon. A revision demon? That sounds to me rather like the ability to destroy history…
Which rather maps cleanly onto Janitor.
Now I'm not a Grand Vet like Pawn, but Janitor strikes me as a Scum ability.
And then the earlier ploy with early claiming Double-voter suddenly feels MUCH more suspect in that light.
So that's where I'm going with this.
I was going to ask "what the fuck" but thankfully others have me covered here. Unfortunately this does make me Townread Zaealix though.
…I don't think 'revision demon' is a roleclaim.

Also, obligatory reminder that even if it is, the rules explicitly state that we aren't supposed to use flavor to play the game.

[X] Vote Zaealix
Bad case.
I was also going to object to this because, yes, bad case, but as you've already realized that doesn't mean it was from Scum. Still a bit skeptical of a vote being your first impulse there TBH, but OTOH I've voted people over "you're not Scum but that was bad" before so who am I to judge.
If it makes any difference I was going to put "Question: Is it possible to check votes or not in this game, might change my opinion depending on the answer" but took it out at the last second because it didn't mesh with the flow and the rest of the concept of the post, but this tells me everything I need to know
I know you don't immediately need this info but just for the record, it's possible to check current or past vote counts using the tally tool, but it doesn't register any multivoters or other shenanigans - just collates the public information from the thread. Only way to check for that sort of chicanery is to have a vote outcome decided by it (so e.g. the tally shows 4v3 and the 3 side wins).
sigh yes this is my complaint. nictis's point is good, this interpretation is dumb and limiting on play possibilities.
As someone who's largely ignorant of Touhou Lore I'm gonna have to say that it's actively good to limit out play possibilities that would revolve around it. Unless you had something else in mind?
No, I'm not a jester. My ability is kind of unconventional, actually. On the one hand I'm pumped because it's really neat, but like-

please do not

Yeah, that would be Marisa ending our suffering right here and now by Master Sparking our entire building

Marisa player do NOT multi-kill me and half the town please

The real host is my Uncle John Touhou himself, you heard it here first

Cringe, suggesting that there's a male character in Touhou, most suspicious comment made thus far

Rinnosuke doesn't count he's a Zun self-insert
