Quick question to those voting not to reveal the coup. Why? It's been all but stated that if we don't talk about it someone is going to leak a version that paints the Uchiha Clan look worse than they already do. Where as if we do it now. At the funeral where we'll get the support of the Hokage's two sons? It'll be better off for the Uchiha Clan in the long run.

You know a while back I asked the thread about why people are voting to reveal a coup attempt to the majority of the civilian population, thank you for finally answering.
A thought, for the funeral speech,

My problem with the speech idea is that we may be throwing Fugaku under the bus. It's easy to present a fait-accomplit if everyone responsible is dead, but Fugaku is just captured and many idiots might want a execution.
I strongly suggest waiting until Tsunade takes the hat and Fugaku 'retires' into obscurity if you want to do this (and i even more strongly suggest not doing it).
Let's be honest, all the ninja clans and jounins already know what went down and are letting sleeping dogs lie. This is just civilian bullshit and it's not worth it with Danzo disabled and the 3rd and his prejudiced council about to retire. Leave it at 'some treacherous Uchiha were thwarted in a internal counter coup' is more than enough information.
Don't give out details that the 'some' is nearly all of the older Uchiha and the 'internal counter coup' was against a suicidal 'village coup'; don't mention that Mikoto and Fugaku were on board (which is what people will think if Fugaku is still captured instead of 'retired' when this is announced), leave it to historians and spies to piece together what the fuck happened.

- We'd probably get the equivalent of a Sealing Designation and basically lose any and all freedom of action for the "good of the village"?
- Our father literally told us to keep our magecraft secret since it "only makes you a target"?
- We're in enemy territory and someone from the countries we're traversing might find out, in which case we'll immediately be at the front of the capture list for breeding programs?

Not clan leadership, village leadership. Magic circuits are an entire new bloodline, more powerful than even the natural energy absorption of Jūgo's clan. What do you think a village that allowed Root to happen would do with that? In the Elemental Nations, some assets are more valuable than morals.

but who the heck would even know? Also they cant easily disappear us since Root lost Danzo and nobody will be eager to do the dirty jobs.
The Hokage is already on thin ice since those in the know will know will blame him, and adding more to that might just lose him the faith they have left and be at risk of either secession or another rebellion. After all, a Clan's secret is their own. They even allowed pseudo slavery for the Hyuuga to keep them compliant and exclusive to the Village.

Ninja understand the need for secrecy, and generally don't get to hyped for hereditary or even advanced clan skills. The best way to keep those skills is usually to pass them down via clan. So magecraft would become a consideration, but It'd hardly be treated with more deference then the mind reading of Ino's clan. Something to cultivate and consider, but not world changing within their current understanding IMO.
Now if we created a whole new generation with Uchiha level skills they might consider it as important as sharingan. It'll still probably be overlooked in favor of sharingan though. I'd say the main advantage of magecraft is the ability to couple it with mind reading, and erase the memory of having your mind read. You can capture agents, steal their info, then release them without them knowing they were compromised.
Or just remove the memory of whatever their mission was. Or down them with disease. Those are useful too. I dunno. Magecraft is pretty flexible.

I agree, paranoia about magecraft leaking is not productive. Hell, we're already a high value target and tend to be protected by elite shinobi anyway (well, if you want to call Jiraya 'elite', which is debatable considering the way he gets conned often).
Neither magecraft, nor true magic nor sage mode should be not pursued because of village faction paranoia. Especially since we just decapitated most of it except Kabuto and Kabuto would target any Uchiha anyway.
That we're going to be traveling with Jiraya is in fact a opportunity to figure out 'that weird thing that happened when we tried to use true magic' (sage mode). It'd be disappointing if we didn't.

I think he referred to the fact that Hinata was 3 or 4 years old when she was kidnapped, which is proof that being 8 isn't going to protect us from being targeted.
If we reveal magecraft, people will know that we have the equivalent of four bloodlines:
- Sharingan
- Uzumaki traits
- Mind's Eye of the Kaguya
- Magecraft

Can we Reinforce our body in addition to chakra enhancement? If yes, would that be additive or multiplicative?
How would that actually work? I can imagine three scenarios:
1- The Magecraft enhances the body, and then the chakra multiplies the capabilities of a better-than-physically-possible body. This would be multiplicative.
2- The magecraft is able to reinforce the chakra pathways, and maybe even the chakra itself, while enhancing the body. Like Luffy's Gear techniques, in One Piece. This would also be multiplicative.
3- they can happen simultaneously but don't really interact (or maybe the interaction part requires a lot of theory work and practice). This would be additive.
Can chakra work on tools the same way magecraft reinforcement can? We know you can channel chakra through things, but the effects are very different, and you need special, expensive chakra-conductive materials for it... unless you're a samurai. There's no way they could outfit a whole samurai army with shit that expensive, it's probably their training.
So, mixing some basic Magecraft in our arsenal would get us sharper weapons, more durable protection, and even more nutritious (and better tasting) food. And this isn't a small boost, either; we're talking better-than-physically-possible enhancements.
Now granted, Shiro is basically a reinforcement prodigy, so we can't really use him as a baseline, despite having all the best examples. But A- Rin is a genius, B- she's devoted to her craft, and C- she's seen the kind of bullshit Shiro could pull off with just that branch of magecraft.
