The canon Rookie 9: the plan is to keep them as they are. Edit: possibly with different teachers, though. Maybe Tenzo (Yamato) for Team Seven?

Team 3 (Itachi?): Yukio, Tenten, Neji, but with a different sensei, not Guy (Itachi?)
Guy & Apprentice: Rock Lee
Rin's Team: Sensei (?, Probably not OC), Rin, (Not OC), (Not OC).

Edit: Karin may or may not see actual combat - possibly apprentice to Korin?

Edit Jan2020: I had already made a decision on Naruto's teacher (since early on), but I decided I might change his female teammate. So Ino in Team 7 with Sasuke and Naruto (also known as Team Yamato), Sakura with Kurenai and Shino&Kiba+Akamaru, and Hinata with Shika&Chou, not sure if it will still be Asuma.

I would prefer to have a sensor as Rin's teacher, and since Kurenai is the only one of the Canon teachers to be one, it won't be one of them. Possibly ??? trying to redeem himself, though there might be accusations of favoritism due to his grandchild

We on the other hand have additional sensory abilities that make having a byakugan on the team less impactful than it might otherwise be.
You mean the sensory abilities that will be available on both teams due to Karin?

chains are likely to not just protect the target but actively tangle him should he hit a chained target.
If Karin users the adamantine attacking chains, she can just dissolve them right as Kiba launches a big attack. If she uses the sealing chains... most enemy will be pretty much helpless and can be killed at her team's convenience.

Ending the isolation of the Uchiha clan would be a lot easier with clans like Akimichi, Inuzuka
Easier, yes, but also less impactful. And keep in mind that at least one member of the council wants us to fail and would definitely not want to make it easy for us.

Rin should be able to make do with any random schmucks and will probably be assigned teammates accordingly.
After Orochimaru showed interest in her? They wouldn't assign "random schmucks" on a team that's basically guaranteed to encounter an S-rank enemy.

The canon Rookie 9: the plan is to keep them as they are.
... oh well, the goes my entire analysis.

Edit: Though I'm surprised that Rin as the clan head of the formerly most powerful clan in Konoha would not be placed on a team with clan heirs.

That'd be pretty damning on the village council's disposition towards the Uchiha.

Yakumo is a clan heir, so at least I can hope that that part of my prediction holds up?

I feel compelled to point out that Yakumo Kurama only shows up in anime filler, so her canonicity is debateable.

It's up to me, whether an extra-canon character appears. Her uncle, Unkai, has appeared (though, partially because I haven't watched that filler and partially because I chose to, his personality may not be the same).

Does anyone have an Omake to celebrate Naruto's birthday?

Double the rewards for today, tomorrow and the day after for Omake.

(Note that the massacre happened in September, so Naruto's birthday celebration in-story might have been delayed by a few months because Korin was in hospital.)

Oh, it doesn't have to be about Naruto himself.

Does anyone have an Omake to celebrate Naruto's birthday?
With a bit of luck, I might have time and inspiration to write one on Saturday.
For potential content, I brainstormed four rough ideas:
  1. Flashback: wardrobe shopping shenanigans, Rin despairing over how hard it is to find respectable/formal clothes that Naruto doesn't reject
Present: custom-made orange-accented clothes including the Uzumaki swirl as a birthday present by Korin
  2. On his actual birthday, Rin gives him a partial present from her and Korin so that he doesn't feel neglected: A beginner's set for calligraphy and sealing. Naruto asks her whether she could teach him a cool jutsu. After berating him for being impolite, Rin decides that without knowing his elemental affinity Naruto's best chance would be the shadow clone:
Other than the Chakra expenditure, it's a very simple jutsu. Even Naruto shouldn't have much trouble with it, considering he has about as much Chakra as you do, possibly more.
  3. Rin stays over until the evening and sees the gathering mob. Eyebrow twitch, followed by a frosty "oh look who volunteered for genjutsu practice". After the mob runs away screaming, Naruto thinks it's both heartwarming and really scary. Right after that, Naruto thinks he heard someone chuckling (Kurama) but decides he must have imagined it.
  4. Rin wants to schedule the party, but Naruto prefers to delay until after the mission - both to invite Tsunade ("The old man lied to me about having no family, so I wanted to know if there was anyone else. I sneaked into the library and found out that the Senju and Uzumaki are related") and so that Korin will be able to walk again.
@AoMythology, which of these would you like to see most, and would any of them have a chance at canon status?

BTW, if someone else likes one of these ideas and would like to write an omake around it, feel free to do so as long as you call dibs first. I'm not going to write four omake by myself, so I'd be happy if someone picked one of them.

On a completely unrelated note, remember how we rarely have a chance to improve our magecraft because as a clan head we're rarely unsupervised?
Gandr… which needs an incantation now, due to you not having your Crest.
Working on the basics of a Crest through fuuinjutsu should be unsuspicious. We could start by asking our mother to teach us how to create a seal that allows us to form one specific jutsu without handseals, then apply that knowledge to Gandr.

Skill 'Senjutsu' has been forgotten!
She now knows instinctively how to avoid turning into stone. The purpose is so that she doesn't know about Senjutsu this early.
Combining alteration reinforcement and chakra reinforcement (preferably test it on an object instead of our body first, can't be too careful) might allow us to re-discover the basics of senjutsu that Kaguya forced us to forget.

"I've discarded my previous names and identities. Just call me 'Hollow'."
[...]
You have gained social option 'The Hollow Nun'!
Tutor bonus: Second best in the world, Hollow's Trait: Super Teacher activates
Once we're on the way back to Konoha, we should subtly ask Tsunade about who she'd consider number two among the village's med-nin past and present. We can probably get Hollow's true name that way.

[]How to become a Lightning God, by Mikoto
+Has partial instruction to learning two high ranked jutsu called the Lightning Release Chakra Mode and Hell Stab, but it will be a long-term project, piecing them together
'How to become a Lightning God' is not really a beginner's book, but you find yourself eventually understanding the concepts in it thanks to other books from the jutsu library
[...]
You are at step 1 of (?) for learning Hell Stab and Raiton Chakra Mode
[...]
You are going to bank on [Sasuke] having even half of the late Mikoto's talent for the Lightning Element. After all, [...] according to your late grandmother, Affinities are passed on from mother to son and from father to daughter more often than not.
Once Sasuke has caught up to the appropriate level of Lightning manipulation, we might want to re-read this book together with him. I'm sure he would appreciate joining us in reading the instructions of his mother (relationship bonus), and two geniuses are better than one for re-creating Lightning Release Chakra Mode and Hell Stab.

Does that mean that you will never see Shisui again? If her Magic Circuits are the reason Hollow-san was kept out of the afterlife, then you are going to be stuck as a ghost… unless, of course, you make sure that you survive, and that you get a body back by using the Second Magic if you die and are stuck in the living world as a ghost. Still, no loved ones in the afterlife…?
Actually, mastery of the Kaleidoscope (might taka a few decades) might eventually allow us to contact Shisui in the Pure World... it's just another dimension, after all.

You have gained access to Yin Release Chakra Flow at E- rank! (Makes weapons more difficult to notice/detect. Can turn them invisible, or nearly so.)
I think the corresponding entry for this in the character sheet is a bit misleading:
Flying Swallow (Yin): E-
Flying Swallow is an offensive variant of Wind Release chakra flow, so one needs to look up the chapter where we gained Yin Release chakra flow to realize that "Flying Swallow (Yin)" refers to an assassination technique instead.

1. Is very likely to be canon, and I would like it. Same with 2.

3. Is simply bad fanon, the Hokage would never allow a mob to hunt Naruto, birthday or not. The only time we've seen anything like that get near happening was when Naruto took the Scroll of Seals. (I don't count the Monument prank, because those chasers weren't really being violent.)

4. Well, Korin was unconscious in the hospital, so it's to be expected that Naruto waited. As for Korin walking again... it would take something that can heal brain damage.

Edit: 2., due to the fact it might show jutsu being taught, is more likely to give more rewards.

I will handle it, then. Edit: Character Sheet updated.

On the other hand, Rin has already taken Reduced Handseals&Incantations to a high enough level that Gandr doesn't need an incantation.

I think that the whole make magic crest was so higher level magic is practical. And the whole gandr thing was so she had something simple to work on at the beginning.
By the way you haven't updated Rins state on the character sheet but have updated other things on it.

Is it even possible to make a Magic Crest without materials from Rin's original world(s)? I am not familiar with FGO or other recent spin-offs, so this is a genuine question.

As for higher level Magecraft, Rin's uses jewels/gems... which she doesn't have at the moment. Her True Magic doesn't need a Crest.

I recommend that you practice your Magecraft, but it's mainly because your Circuits may atrophy like canon Shirou's otherwise and because the conceptual bullsh1t one can do with it is nearly impossible to reproduce with ninjas' jutsu.

(Not to mention enhancing weapons with your Uchiha-style Sealing, which can benefit from the weapons becoming a kind of Mystic Code.)

BTW, I updated the Character Sheet.

Magic crests are usually created with a bit of a phantasmal beast(which might have side effects depending on what was used) OR forking off from an existing crest. Theres no extant crest to use but the Naruto setting sure as hell has plenty of extant phantasmal beasts.

At least IIRC, thats from memory.

2., due to the fact it might show jutsu being taught, is more likely to give more rewards.
Alright, I'll start writing.

As for Korin walking again... it would take something that can heal brain damage.
Well, I can see two solutions for that:
  • Tsunade might be able to heal her, as you already hinted at:
    []Say no to Jiraiya
+No medic-nin to heal your mother and get a prosthetic for Itachi
  • Korin could learn to walk by moving her legs with Adamantine Chains.

On the other hand, Rin has already taken Reduced Handseals&Incantations to a high enough level that Gandr doesn't need an incantation.
Oh, right. Still, Rin would probably still want to create a crest for the other benefits it brings, like the ability to inherit magic circuits with it. Ironically, she might see it as a way of getting rid of one's circuits so that she and Hollow can eventually pass on to the Pure World.

As afirst step towards that, the most useful chakra analogue which we could ask Korin about would probably be a seal tattoo that substitutes for the Tiger hand seal. It would allow Rin to perform a flawless shunshin without hand seals, as well as reduce the number of seals for each fire technique by one (which would be especially helpful for jutsu fusion).

Magic crests are usually created with a bit of a phantasmal beast (which might have side effects depending on what was used)
If that's the case, the most potent basis we have access to would probably be some of the Kyuubi's chakra... of course, Rin doesn't know about Naruto's roommate yet. We'll probably find out once one of our sensory skills reaches S rank.

As for higher level Magecraft, Rin's uses jewels/gems... which she doesn't have at the moment.
Hmm... now that you remind me, I wonder how Rin will react to Tsunade's necklace. It's made from the only special type of jewel I know of in the Elemental Nations: the uncreatively-named "Crystal Gem".

Thats fanon. Shirou had perfectly fine circuits for a first generation Magus. He just never had any idea how to open/use them properly and didn't have the time during the Holy Grail War to learn.

I'm pretty sure adult Shirou had a lot more Prana than sixteen-to-seventeen-year-old Shirou. Deal with Alaya or not, Archer wouldn't have gotten a 'B' rating otherwise.

I'm not saying that Shirou permanently damaged his Circuits because he didn't use them (I'm pretty sure that's impossible through only that method), but I'm sure he did need a lot of time to get their full Quality out of them.

Actually, A++ was enough for Rin to realize something is off with Naruto's Chakra. (As in, she did already.)

A++ is already ABSURDLY high; 17-year-old Karin in canon had somewhere around that level.

Just a heads up, the omake is slowly progressing, I should have it finished by midnight.

I can still assume that Rin would find Naruto's apartment lacking, right? It's spacious, but an anime scene shows cracks in the walls (ignoring the dust which is a result of being empty for three years) and his neighbor "old woman Akeno" seems the only company he gets there.

The Birthday Omake bonus will continue until Monday 10/14, 3 PM, GMT +2
... And apparently I don't have to hurry to finish in the next 2 1/2 hours.

Naruto is an eight-year-old boy; the old woman (the Hokage's agents too) HAS made sure he knows how to take care of himself, but he is lazy when it comes to cleaning the apartment and such.

(His personal hygiene, as in washing and grooming himself is perfect, though.)

What could possibly go wrong with more Naruto(s)...? (Nachtigall's canon Omake)
"Hi Rin! Nice of you to come over!" Naruto greeted his cousin with a smile.

Even as she bowed, spoke the appropriate pleasantries, and entered, Rin's mind was in a whirl of thoughts. Judging by the generous size of the apartment she was stepping into, it was clear that someone had cared about Naruto's well-being before she met him.
Based on the state it was in, however, said someone didn't seem to bother visiting him: Spots of dust she didn't need the Sharingan to pick out and cracks in the walls. He certainly was... enthusiastic enough to have caused those by himself when training, but someone should have gotten him to fix that, and preferably helped him do it - he was only eight, now nine, years old after all.
In fact, the slight awkwardness Naruto was trying to hide under his sunny disposition affirmed that he was unaccustomed to having people over in general.

Maybe she could invite Naruto to live in the Uchiha district? One of the concessions she agreed to in the recent negotiations was to allow other people to live there. Mama might even want him to live with them, and his presence and general cheer could help brighten her mood after Suiho's death...
Rin had to suppress the flashes of what she had seen that night - dead bodies on the streets, her father among them. Her Sharingan would never let her forget what she saw.
With the tiniest shake of her head, Rin decided not to think about it for now.

"Rin?" Naruto called, to which she responded with an affirmative hum. "You were spaced out."

She went with her ingrained defense: needling him. "The polite way of saying that would be 'You seemed deep in thought.' "

The correction was in good humour and Naruto clearly took it as such. "Right, right. I'm just excited to have you over on my birthday! So, what do you want to do first? Card games? Role-playing games? Outdoor games? Do you want something to drink?"

Rin was happy to see that he hadn't be thoughtless enough to mention the present (a calligraphy set from her and her mother) or the food (there was no way she'd let Naruto cook - ramen was fine, instant ramen wasn't) she had brought. Naruto didn't try to be rude, but far too often he opened his mouth without thinking.

"Let's start with the outside activities while it's still warm. Training ground three is free right now. Afterwards, we'll be hungry enough to eat all of that" she said, while pointing to the large bags she had carried and already stashed in the kitchen while he mind was drifting off. Uzumaki constitution meant that both of them would often eat more than most adults.

"Awesome! Race you there!" Naruto cheered and jumped out of the window to get a headstart. Hmpf, as if that would be enough to beat her.

"Ow!" came a yell from two roofs away.

Rin smirked. Especially when she knew which route he would take and could prepare accordingly.

One fun afternoon later, Naruto was predictably begging her to teach him a "cool technique". Oh well, it was his birthday, and she had something in mind that he should be able to get down in a few days of self-study. Back when Itachi taught her to create a shadow clone, she had already noticed that it required no elemental affinity, merely stubbornness and large chakra reserves.

"Alright. Listen closely, I'll only explain this once. You know how you push some of your chakra out for the kawarimi or clone jutsu?"

Naruto grimaced when she mentioned the clone, but nodded.

"Don't worry, the Kage Bunshin doesn't need fine control. You gather half of your chakra and push it out. The tricky part is that chakra alone isn't enough, you also need to transfer a small part of yourself, an imprint so to speak. It's like... when molding the chakra, you add a bit of who you are, of what makes you Naruto Uzumaki. You share that with your clone, and instead of a hollow replica it becomes you."

Surprisingly, Naruto wasn't only listening and nodding along as he often did (until a glare or slap convinced him to actually think things through). He had a look of genuine introspection.

"Now, watch." She slowly performed the hand seals and did as she had just instructed, pushing a bit of Rin Uchiha into a new clone, which popped up with a bit of smoke.

Both her selves turned to Naruto, who was already trying himself. A pop of smoke, and... there were two of him.

"Hey, this is easy!" A moment later, two became four. "And it can even perform jutsu by itself!"

Rin stood there, shocked, and lamented that she hadn't brought any sake.

Edit: Fixed two typos.

Thank you! I'm honestly a little overwhelmed by both the canon status and the rewards.

I hadn't responded earlier because non-content posts are frowned upon, so I waited until I had something substantial to post.

The wiki page on the Henge states "Users will gain the attributes and physical features of whatever they transform into, such as a weapon's sharpness or an animal's fangs." and "Seemingly the only way to reliably find out if somebody is using the Transformation Technique is to knock them unconscious, which will cause the transformation to dissolve."

Based on that, can I assume that Rin can keep up a transformation even when a bit of physical strain is placed upon the chakra construct?

I'm considering to write another omake, this time about the "Korin wraps adamantine chains around her legs to move them" idea, but I'd first need to know whether I can use the Henge for that scene.

Five true facts about the Gandr should Jiraiya notice and confront Rin w.r.t. her magecraft training:
  • It's a secret technique (like all magecraft is kept secret from non-mages)
  • The Gandr is only passed down within my family, not the entire clan (both true and makes it impossible for other Uchiha to contradict her)
  • My father taught it to me (referring to Tokiomi)
  • (Semi-canon) According to father, anyone copying it without the Sharingan is likely to be turned to stone (mathematician's truth, since "anyone without the Sharingan" is a subset of "anyone")
  • I was taught it so early because I can use all elements (Rin being an Average One was relevant to her becoming Tohsaka heir over Sakura, due to which she was taught the Gandr)
