Story 7 (Walking, Breathing Testicle; Chakra, get!)
[W]Mingle with the guests

[W]Studying
[W]Socializing

(2 Training actions, 3 Studying, 3 Social)

Shisui's birthday comes and goes, and Itachi is there, this time without Sasuke. You don't get to speak with either of them, though, because what seems like the entire clan is around.

You mingle with the guests, meeting various boys close to Shisui's age. They are all surprised by the fact you can speak clearly at your age, but you quickly tire of them; they are not close to Shisui - they're too stupid and annoying to be.

So you go back to your father, listening to an exchange between him and an old man. The old man says, "remember what I said, Suiho."

"Very well, Elder Arkidi," your father says, and you barely control yourself, not to burst into guffaws.

'Arkidi' sounds like a very, very rude thing to call someone in Greek. You are glad you're multilingual at moments like this.

You barely dodged meeting Elder Arkidi! Luck D+ (halfway through C-) -> C-

After the old man has left, your father asks you, "what's so funny?"

"That old man's name," you whisper in his ear, "it sounds like something I would call Grandmother when I first met her."

Suiho shakes his head in exasperation.

Your own birthday party is a quiet affair; Itachi and Sasuke are not around, and your father wanted a quiet celebration. The next year, though, he will introduce you to the clan officially. You find it ironic that you were born on February third, just like 'before'.

-----

Your mother wanted you to start you on something called Fuuinjutsu, and your grandmother hasn't told you much about it. So, Mama explains.

"Let me get this straight," you say, "with Fuuinjutsu, one can store something in a pocket dimension?!"
"I'm surprised you know what those are," Korin says, "but yes, that's one of the main things Fuuinjutsu is capable of."

"There's more!" You say, very surprised.

Your mother nods, then gets you started. First, she tests your calligraphy, which she finds 'passable'. Passable your ass. Then, she starts teaching you the theory of Fuuinjutsu. The two of you repeat that many times over the year, and you both have a lot of free time, so you progress a lot.

Your mother congratulates you on 'decent' progress. She says that, but you can see the pride in her eyes. Korin is a surprisingly harsh taskmaster and critic when she teaches you.

Spent two out of three 'studying' actions. 'True Genius' activated. 'The Bamboo's Descendant' activated.
The Skill 'Sealing' has been created at F. Skill has progressed! F -> E rank.
You now know how to use (not make!) explosive tags and storage seals!

You only train your body a little during this year, and mainly concentrate on improving your sensing.

Spent half a training action on your body. 'Let's Flicker' activated; 'Super Prodigy' activated. Speed has gone up by a (+)

You ask your mother to supervise, but not to disturb your meditation.

She says, "now you know how to meditate? You're full of surprises, Rin!" With a laugh.

You get into a stance your mother has just shown you, complete with a one-handed hand-seal.

Now that you're in a meditative trance, you can feel the presence of your mother; it is rather distinctive. You can also tell her energy is bright and yellow-colored*. To you, the Uchiha happen to be either a shade of purple or blue.

You get further into your trance. You can tell Shisui isn't around; he has a mission, you already knew, but you now know why you've been restless this day; you can't sense him, and it has you out of sorts. Your father is close-by to another male Uchiha, one who has more powerful and controlled energy than him. The clan head…? Then, the woman who has even more controlled energy must be Mikoto, the man's wife.

You concentrate more, but you can't find Itachi anywhere. You do manage to find what feels like a toddler, though; Sasuke has incredibly powerful 'Chakra' for his age. That you can even tell he's there speaks volumes of his potential.

You sense a disturbance in Mikoto's Chakra; did she notice someone is spying on her? You withdraw back into your body.

"So," your mother says immediately, "what did you sense?"

You tell her that you felt your father near who you thought was Fugaku-sama and Mikoto-dono, and that you caught tell of a boy your age, who must have been Sasuke.

Korin tilted her head. She said, "are you certain you felt Sasuke? He's too young to have such developed Chakra; maybe your mind filled in the gaps."

You shake your head and say, "no, I know what I felt. Sasuke's Chakra felt almost more… potent than Itachi-san's when I sensed him before, yet I'm certain it was a toddler's energy, not someone older's."

"Interesting," your mother says, "it seems like I'm not the only mother blessed with two prodigies," she murmurs then, though you have to strain yourself to hear her.

You preen under the covert praise.

You repeat the experiment until you feel you cannot progress any more over the next few months.

You have spent 1.5 training actions! 'Super Natural Sensor' has activated; 'Omake bonus: greatly' has activated!
Eye's Mind of the Kagura has leveled up! D+ -> B-
Note that until you have unlocked your Chakra, there is a malus, so it's effectively one rank or so below what it is supposed to be. You cannot level this up further without your Chakra, either.

You study with your grandmother at her home, and she decides to teach you the Uchiha style of Fuuinjutsu.

"Our clan has a Sealing Style?" You say, surprised.

The old woman cackles. She says, "of course we do! We might not be quite as naturally talented in the field as the Uzumaki, but we're still good at everything we truly try in!"

You think that she's not very fond of the Uzumaki, one in particular, so you decide to needle her. You say, "do I perhaps detect some envy?"

Nanako's smirk disappears momentarily, only to return as a toothy (slightly toothless) grin. She says, "and what do you think I have to be envious of?"

"I don't know, you tell me, Grandma," you say, "is it the fact that another clan surpassed us in something?" Innocently.

Nanako cackles again. She says, "one day, that acidic tongue will be the death of you, girl. Or your enemies' death. Or both."

You shrug nonchalantly.

You spend one 'study' action. 'True Genius' activates! You learn more about ninja life! (Your knowledge of physics, math and such is already at its limit). Skill Ninja Academics levels up! B- -> B
Your reputation with Nanako goes up! C- -> C rank

-----

In the meanwhile, you spend as much time as you can with Shisui, your father and your mother.

Rep. Shisui: B+ (halfway through A-) -> A-
Rep. Suiho: D+ ->C- (Omake) -> C
Rep. Korin: D (1/3 through D+) -> D+

Your third birthday comes, and after you've gotten all the presents, your father offers to walk you through unlocking your Chakra. He seems a bit reluctant, but who cares!

[]Unlock your Chakra
[]Not yet

Flaw 'Impulsive - moderate-high' activates

"I'd love to!" You say.

Thus, your father guides you through a meditative trance. It's child's play to manage the first step. "What now?" You say.

Your father instructs you to reach for your own energy, making a hand-seal.

You thought he was a good teacher, judging by Shisui! This kind of instruction doesn't help much!

Still, you use your sensory, but this time, look into your own body. You go deeper and focus more, and you find… a kind-of circulatory system? You look for some point where you can access it, until you find two kinds of energies combining on their own in your belly. You draw out some of that, then you 'mold' some more by combining the two energies manually after a bit of trial and error.

You get out of your trance, only to see your father with an open mouth and an activated pair of Sharingan. You suppress a shudder; your mother's red eyes have gotten you used to such eye colors, but this Sorcery Trait slash Mystic Eyes is rather creepy-looking.

He says, "that's… a lot more Chakra than I thought. What did you do?"

You tell him how you 'molded' more Chakra than you had immediately available, like your grandmother had spoken of.

Suiho seems ready to cry in joy, but then he sobers up. He tells you, "the life of a prodigy isn't an easy one, Rin. You have to make sacrifices, experience terrible things, lose people. Remember that, but don't give up. Ever."

Then, he goes on about his father's philosophy of a true Shinobi being a nameless person who protects peace from within the shadow of self-sacrifice.

You remember how being a Magus required you to sacrifice a lot of things, and how the responsibilities of Second Owner didn't break you, and you smile confidently.

Suiho sighs and says, "sorry I rambled on like that."

He sees the smile on your lips and reaches the correct conclusion. He says, "I'm glad you're so confident. Just take care not to let it turn into arrogance. Arrogance blinds you; some members of the Uchiha have forgotten that," and murmurs something about an idiot named Yashiro**.

You decide to try Reinforcing something with Chakra, but you fail to do that to the spoon you've grabbed. You do eventually make it stick to your hand, though… only to fall on your face soon afterward for some reason.

Trait 'Shaky Connection - Moderate' has activated for the last time! You are three years old. Your memories of a past life have become permanent; Trait 'Shaky Connection' has been lost.
Your Chakra Control has gone up! F+ -> E-

Pick 1:

[]Go to the Park
+It's outside the Uchiha district. You may meet new, non-Uchiha people there!
[]Visit the head family
+You can tell Sasuke is somehow important, beyond being the Head's son. So let's go needle him!

*Naruto's Chakra is yellow-colored in the Manga.
As for Yashiro, he's the MORON who provokes Itachi (along with another idiot named Tekka) after Shisui's death and nearly gets killed as a result, saved by the bell (Sasuke being around).

Stats Explained
Stats have soft and hard caps. The soft caps are the reason why you need more effort as the stats go higher.

So, if a Trait removes the soft cap, diminishing returns in training are barely there, too.

Stats go from F- to F to F+ all the way to A+.

Then we have A++ and A+++.
S- goes all the way to S++++.
Then we have EX, which goes from slightly above all the way to Sky-high, Are You Even Human, then BEYOND HUMANITY.

An example of EX BEYOND HUMANITY is 19-year-old Naruto's Chakra reserve, adult Sasuke's Speed, adult Itachi's Dexterity, the Third Raikage's Strength etc.

Canon Naruto stats from the early Databooks compare like this:

0.5: ~F, 1: ~E-, 1.5: E+~D-, 2: D+, 2.5: C, 3: B-, 3.5: A-~A+, 4: A++~S-, 4.5: S~S++, 5: S+++~EX Slight

Bonuses to training and/or a skill go from Slight, to Mild, to Moderate, then High, Great, Colossal, Beyond Colossal, Sky-High, Are You Even Human and BEYOND HUMANITY.

Usually, the highest bonus is the most important.

Getting a high level (like a 'Colossal' one) bonus to actual combat rather than a single skill or only training is a rare thing, and will be highly situational (example: fighting a Bijuu will boost EVERYTHING thanks to your origin).

Stats themselves:

Ninjutsu&Magecraft keeps you from leveling up certain skills past a certain point if it's not high enough. It is raised when you manage certain feats, like beating strong enemies using ninjutsu. You are still at a point where Ninja Academics can also aid you, because studying Chakra Theory with a knowledgeable person might raise this stat. Higher level skills (Eg. A ranked jutsu) are more restricted than lower ones (like, say, an E-rank jutsu).

Taijutsu is a stat that rises along with your Taijutsu styles. It is a measure of how well you can improvise and reverse engineer martial arts moves.

Genjutsu&Mental Interference shows how good you are at resisting mental influences, and allows for faster assimilation of illusionary skills.

Strength is one's base physical strength. All kinds of Reinforcement skills can boost your strength temporarily, also depending on your Chakra Control. To boost it permanently, simply train in it, though nobody in your family had high physical strength (even Shisui was only decent (for an average Jounin)), so don't expect much.

Speed encompasses a lot of things. Reaction speed, movement speed and such. It is raised by dodging drills, running drills and combat experience.

Chakra is your reserve of Chakra, simply enough, and all ninjutsu and genjutsu consumes some of it. It can be raised by using up most of your Chakra, then resting properly. Also raised through studying and stamina drills because it is composed of Physical Energy and Spiritual Energy. Because of one growing physically and gaining life experience, you can gain Chakra by simply existing when you are young (as long as you eat properly).

Intelligence goes up through studying. There is no wisdom stat, because your actions depend on your choices.

Dexterity&Flexibility go up through calisthenics, aiming drills and such. A high D&F stat is a requirement for a lot of skills, and affects one's performance in taijutsu significantly

Chakra Control is also a requirement for many skills to level up. Certain skills (e.g Genjutsu, Medical Ninjutsu, high level ninjutsu) more than others. It also makes most ninjutsu more powerful and less wasteful.

Luck rises whenever Rin does something that is particularly 'In-Character' thanks to the players' choices, or with good Canon Omakes. It can also rise temporarily, with Semi-canon Omakes. It can also be lowered when the players go OOC repeatedly and/or for a particularly long time. It helps when you fail to learn/awaken a skill, especially when you might need it, and in some other situations

Every stat can rise in life-and-death combat (unless the opponent doesn't put up much of a fight) except maybe Luck.

Story 8 (Element-ary!)
While you weren't introduced to the rest of the clan on your birthday, a celebration unique to the Uchiha clan was held a month or so after it; you were shown off to the rest of the Uchiha clan then.

You remembered Shirou, who was 'born' on the spring equinox*, this very day, and shed a few tears. Then, you steeled yourself and went on to face the music.

There were a lot of adults, and you were expected to greet all of them. Still, you bore with it, even if you disliked some of them on sight; you are an excellent actress, after all. You made sure to leave a lasting impression on them.

Trait: 'Façade of a Magus' has been (re)discovered.

Elder Arkidi tried to provoke you by making sexist comments (or he's naturally like that. You aren't sure which is worse), but with your newfound self-control, you do not react. Nor do you laugh at his name, though that takes even more self-control.

Flaw 'Impulsive - moderate-high' has been reduced to 'Impulsive - mild-moderate'

On the other hand, Arkidi picked up on your amusement, apparently, because he stormed off rather suddenly at some point. He wasn't seen at the celebration since.

Reputation with the Uchiha clan has gone up! E- (neutral) -> E rank
Reputation with Uchiha Arkidi has gone down! Neg. E -> Neg. D-
You are now known as 'that old cunt Arkidi's bane' in some circles!

-----

You study Sealing Theory with your grandmother, as well as ninja history. She is the foremost Master on the Uchiha style of Fuuinjutsu, and one of the few who are recognized as experts on History in the clan.

Three 'studying' actions! 'True Genius' activates. 'The Bamboo's descendant' activates. Tutor bonuses are now active!
The skill 'Sealing' has gone up: E -> D-
You can now use (not make) more complex seals!
The skill 'Ninja History' has been created at D-
Intelligence has gone up! A- (4/10 through A) -> A- (8/10)

You also train with your mother. She mainly focuses on Sealing.

She says, "I think you've learned enough of the theory, Rin. Now, it's time to make an actual Seal."

You shudder in anticipation. Your mother has you make a seal that will activate a weak, very small barrier. She gives you her own work on this seal as a reference. Unfortunately, no two people's seal work can be the same; one can't just copy another's seal.

You are very careful about how you do it; however, Sealing is as much an art as it is a science, and you are a being of logic; right? Right! …Or, that's what you tell yourself.

You use two and a half training actions on Sealing.
'Super Prodigy (Fake)' activates. 'The Bamboo's descendant' activates. Tutor bonus (best in the village) = Great-colossal activates!
Skill 'Sealing' has progressed from D- to C-
You can now make a weak barrier (D). You can now make weak explosive tags (D+). You can now make a normal scroll into a Storage Seal scroll (C-).

She also helps you train on sensing people; you progress a bit. You now can tell when someone is lying to you by the feel of their Chakra, and your range when you actively focus is most of Konoha.

Half an action.
Mind's Eye of the Kagura has progressed: B- -> B rank

Your mother is really proud of you, and it shows.

She says, "Rin, you have really improved recently. I know I often keep from praising you, but I can't keep silent any longer. I'm so proud of you, my baby!"

You make a token protest on being called a baby, but you- no, you don't like being smothered like that!

Rep. Korin: D+ -> C-

You also spend a lot of time with Suiho, Shisui and Nanako. Shisui tells you about his experiences as a ninja and promises to help you with your hand-seals a bit.

Rep. Suiho: C -> C+
Rep. Nanako: C -> C+
Rep. Shisui: A- -> A- (halfway through A)

At one point, you catch him holding a leaf in his hand and glaring at it. You say, "nii-chan, what's going on? Do I have to worry over your sanity?"

He starts. Shisui turns to look at you, then says, "huh, Rin? Have you learned how to suppress your presence?"

"Moron!" You snap at him, "you were simply not paying attention. That could get you killed one day!"

Shisui doesn't have anything to say to that. He does reference your previous comment, though. He says, "what was that about doubting my sanity?"

"I haven't seen you glare at a Leaf (Konoha) before. Are you having shaky loyalties?" You say.

Shisui flinches. Then, he straightens up and says, "I would sooner die than betray the village or the clan. And if I absolutely had to choose between the two, I would kill mys- never mind, sorry."

Shisui's outburst has terrible scenarios enter your mind, but you snap out of them and say, "I'm sorry, nii-chan. I shouldn't have questioned your loyalty," rather contrite.

"…It's okay, Rin. I overreacted," he says, "would you like me to explain what I'm doing?" He then says, cheerful again, though the darkness hasn't fully left his eyes.

He shows you how he's trying to shrink a leaf with his Chakra. "I'm trying to learn a third element, the Lightning Element, to be exact," he says.

He's been trying to manage this exercise for the past month and a half, apparently. You pick up a leaf of your own and try it.

You've discovered the Trait 'Stubborn and a Perfectionist'.

You put a lot of time into shrinking the leaf; it takes you twenty-five days to even shrink it a bit and another three to do it fully, but you don't stop there; you try to use your Chakra to make a cut tree branch into a conductor, without hand-seals. This is an exercise of your own devising.

Your Chakra goes up! E -> E+ rank

When you next see Shisui (he was busy with 'clan duties'), he tells you that he has completed the exercise. "and it only took me three months or so!" He says.

"What do you mean 'only'? It took me twenty-eight days to shrink a leaf!" You say.

"What," Shisui says flatly.

You show off the exercise after taking hold of a leaf. Then, you show him how much you have progressed in turning a tree branch into a conductor of electricity, though it takes you a lot of Chakra and is still not perfected.

Shisui is silent. He finally says, "I didn't expect this. You're probably Lightning-natured - otherwise, you should have taken a much longer time at your level of Chakra reserves and Control. Why don't you try burning a leaf instead, to gauge how good you are at the Fire element?"

You do as he says, and pick up a leaf again. This time, you try to turn it into ashes.

It takes you a bit more than three weeks to manage it. After you manage that, you decide to make your Fire element more controlled, so you try to make various shapes on leaves using the Fire element, like circles, a cut along the stem, a triangle and such.

Unfortunately, while making shapes with your Chakra has been possible with a lot of work, maintaining them is extremely hard for you.

You have tried and make sure NOT to burn yourself in the process, nor let the fire spread elsewhere, but you've only succeeded in the latter; you took care of your burned hands yourself, but your grandmother noticed - she did nothing except check your work, commend you on your medical skill and quiz you on first aid, though.

'I was faster in picking up the Fire element,' you think, 'is it because I have had experience with it in my previous life?'

-----

"So, your brother told me that you're a Lightning affinity. Would you like to show me?" Suiho tells you.

"I'm not a Lightning affinity, but sure," you say.

Then, you two go to a training ground and you show him a near-completed branch-electrifying, seal-less exercise.

"That's impressive," your father says, "ve- very impressive, in fact. Why do you think you aren't Lightning-natured?"

Wordlessly, you burn the branch without hand-seals, but make sure to keep the flame controlled, so you keep two ends of the branch intact and the grass of the training ground unaffected.

Suiho looks seriously taken aback. He opens and closes his mouth, then says, "that's… even more impressive. How long did it take you…?"

"It took me twenty-three days to burn the leaf, and about two weeks after that to burn a branch," you say.

Suiho urges you to try to dehydrate and cut a leaf, as well as cover one in soil with only your Chakra, but keep it secret, even from your mother, only to surprise her later.

(He most likely is afraid that you'll tell someone. Is being an Average One so rare here, that he has to take such precautions?)

It takes you three months or so in total for all of those, some taking longer, some less time (dehydrating the leaf, the Water exercise, took the least time: eighteen days; it might be easier because you now have more Chakra, thus can practice longer).

Afterwards, your father asks you what Chakra Control exercises you've done.

"Chakra Control… exercises? Do you mean something like burning a leaf?" You say.

"So my mother hasn't told you?" He says and shows you something called the Leaf Concentration Exercise.

"Ah, sticking something to my body," you say, "I've done that, with a spoon."

"Show me," your father says.

So, you stick the leaf on your forehead and keep it there… and keep it… for hours, until you're very tired.

Suiho says, "stop! That's enough. Any more, and you risk being laid out with Chakra exhaustion."

Your Chakra has gone up! E+ -> D-
You now have the reserves of a graduating Academy student! (1.5/5)
Your Chakra Control has gone up! E- -> E+

Your father promises to teach you the three Academy jutsu -and maybe some Taijutsu- soon after your fourth birthday, which comes soon, but you don't have time to do anything but shake hands of adults during it.

At some point, your parents take you to a park to find other children to play with. You seriously doubt any of them will be good company, but it's nice to be outside the Uchiha compound. You sense for anyone your (physical) age, and get multiple results.

One's Chakra feels… familiar, and is extremely bright and refreshing like the sunlight after a cold night. Unfortunately, a shadow is covering that sunlight similarly to an eclipse, like the boy is depressed or angry or something. You'll call this boy 'Shadowed Sun'.

Another boy's Chakra feels rather animalistic, but incomplete, as if his soul is missing something. Not in the way someone who mutilated his soul would, but like he is missing his soul-mate, as cliché as that sounds. This will be the Half-Soul.

There's also a girl who responded to your Chakra as if she's a budding sensor herself. She is radiating genuine confidence, which is rare at this age. You are going to call her 'The Blooming Sensor'.

You go towards-

[]The Shadowed Sun
+This boy feels very familiar and more important than Shisui and Sasuke combined, somehow
+

[]The Half-Soul
+You get a sense of… something. Loyalty? Steadfastness?

[]The Blooming Sensor

Arkidi was meant to provoke us into literally spitting at him, then lost control himself and genjutsu'd us with his Sharingan. He would have, if we'd stuck with our father in the previous vote. (Then Fugaku punishes Arkidi. Severely.)

A Brother's Love (Canon Omake)
@AoMythology crosses arms

Omake cannon, FIRE!!!

Your name is Uchiha Shisui, also known as Shunshin no Shisui. Son of Uchiha Suiho and Uchiha nee Uzumaki Korin. And the proud older brother of Uchiha Rin.

So very proud. You are considered a Prodigy. One of the Uchiha's and Konoha's finest. Second to only a hand full of people. And if you are right? One more will be added to those select few.

Rin. You named her after Obito's teammate who died protecting the village from a Bijuu going berserk in the village by killing its container. Herself. When you named her that, you were hoping it'd be in an equally great achievement will be done by her.

Without the suicide part. You give a dark chuckle at that. It pains you to even think of your sister getting hurt, let alone die. Which is why, instead of trying to figure out how to talk the Clan down from rebellion, you are writing and discarding training plans for your sister.

You'd never let your loyalty to both the Clan or Konoha. But you have found yourself a third loyalty to your sister as her nii-San. So you are preparing training schedules for her.

From what you know about what happened with the Chakra nature training, you know your sister as two things. Stubborn and a Perfectionist. You also know she has an ego and it's your duty to help stroke it.

So you are going to help with making her the best of her class by training her in something that no one else her year will be taught for awhile! Kunai and Shurikan throwing! Maybe you should also teach her the Gokakyu no Jutsu? You know your dad wants to teach her it but maybe you can talk him into speeding up the process? She has done the Leaf Burning exercise. So maybe you'll have some luck?

Anyways, you should teach her how to survive in the wild, the local plants and what's safe and not safe to eat and set up camp. If she doesn't already know half that stuff.

You snort in amusement and shake your head. Rin mystifies you at times. You swear she knows things she shouldn't know. And she's much more mature for her age than she should be. ...for the most part at least. But no matter what, she's still your sister and you love her.

So you continue your planning on what you should do for Rin's training. Maybe you should teach her about the Sharigan or give notes on what a Shinobi should know as a Genin and Chunin?

Oh! You could teach her tree walking! Your sensing skill isn't as great as Mom's or Rin's but even you can tell that Rin's Chakra has risen dramatically in the past year. It could be bad if she lets that get out of hand while neglecting Control. Which means you should write down notes on how to properly Water Walk as well so she can get started on her own if she finishes tree walking while you are on a mission. You get the feeling she won't be happy if you made her wait. Or maybe she'll figure it out herself?

You laugh at that thought. It would not surprised you if she actually managed that. God your little sister is a genius!

Honestly? You understand your father's worries. You have them too, of what if Rin graduates early. But she's strong. You are certain she'd be able to survive the woes of early graduation like you did. The stress and grief. And you will be there to help her through every step of it. But you'd prefer it if she did grow up not graduating early. To keep that innocence and prevent heartbreak. To be able to make friends her own age and have crushes…

...crushes. The world around you becomes clearer and more detailed. Oh you know if any boy breaks her heart you will personally make him pay.

Had anyone been around at the time of that thought they would hear Uchiha Shisui chuckling darkly whilst having his Mangekyo Sharigan active staring into the distance.

And it is done.

At some point, your parents take you to a park to find other children to play with. You seriously doubt any of them will be good company, but it's nice to be outside the Uchiha compound. You sense for anyone your (physical) age, and get multiple results.

You go towards the Shadowed Sun; he truly intrigues you. You reach an isolated corner of the park, where there is a small, abandoned playground.

There, you find a blond boy around your age playing on a swing. Your first thought is, 'these swings are a safety hazard'. The second is 'are those marks whiskers?'

You go up to the boy and, before you can stop yourself, ask him if he wants you to push him.

He looks at you suspiciously and says, "whatever, 'ttebayo."

You tell him that that attitude will surely keep people away.

"What do ya know!" The boy snaps at you, "I've tried to just be myself; it didn't work. Others play with me at first; then their parents see me, and it's all over!"

You are confused - were this boy's parents traitors or some such? And what's his name, anyway? You voice your questions.

The boy says, "I'm Uzumaki Naruto. Remember it, dattebayo! I don't even know who my parents were - the Old Man is stingy and doesn't tell me."

You cover your face, stifling your laugh. You say, "dattebayo? That's a funny verbal tic! Hehehehehe!"

Naruto pouts adorably; you almost want to pinch his cheeks.

Then, his full name registers. You say, "wait, you're an Uzumaki?"

"That's my name - the Old Man said so!" Naruto says indignantly.

"Okay, okay," you tell him, lifting one hand in surrender, while the other made a mostly discreet hand-seal.

Mind's Eye of the Kagura!

You activate your sensing jutsu, and what you find from close up is so much more than you expected.

Power

You drown in yellow. Naruto's Chakra is most likely inactive; yet, its potency exceeds Itachi's when you first met the older Uchiha. Its characteristics and color remind you of your mother the most. There's no doubt - this is a true Uzumaki.

More than that, this is the Chakra of someone genuinely good; it's like you have a miniature sun next to you. When was the last time you met someone like that? You push images of an auburn-haired fake janitor to the back of your mind.

"Oi. Oi! Weird girl! I'm talking to you!"

You snap out of your trance and say, "what did you just call me…?"

"Finally!" Naruto says, "I've been trying to wake you up for minutes! What's your name, anyway?"

You pause for a moment; you can't scold him for giving you terrible nicknames if you haven't told him your name - okay, you can and will, but you at least will give him your name.

You say, "I'm Uchiha Rin. Oh, and don't call other people weird; it's rude."

Naruto says, "whatever," digging a finger into his ear.

You simply yell at him and say, "idiot! Pay attention!"

Naruto straightens up and says, "understood!"

"Now, do you know what to do and say when someone introduces themselves to you?" You say, taking on a lecture pose.

"Y-yes?" Naruto says nervously.

"Then, what are you waiting for?" You say in a stern tone.

"It's nice to meet you Rin-san. I'll be in your care," Naruto says, bowing.

Look, he even used a more formal form of address - so adorable! You bow back and repeat the same pleasantries.

You then say, "there. Was that so hard?" Sassily.

Naruto looks at you defiantly, saying, "is that all?"

You pinch his cheeks and say, "no. Now get back on that swing so that I can push you, Naruto."

After pushing Naruto for a while, the two of you part. Naruto is looking at you with longing, as if he expects never to see you again. For the first time, you notice that his eyes are a brilliant dark blue.

Social option: Uzumaki Naruto has been unlocked!

-----

You decide to hang out with Sasuke and Itachi. You can tell they're in one of the Uchiha clan's training grounds, and are curious what they are doing.

You reach the training ground soon enough, and see Sasuke jump back and forth. He says, "what will you show me, nii-san?"

Itachi sees you and says, "in a minute, Sasuke. Hello, Rin."

"Hello, Itachi-san, Sasuke. Am I intruding?"

Sasuke's pout says that yes, he would like it if you left right now, but Itachi has other ideas.

"Would you like to train with us, Rin?" Itachi says.

You think it over, and decide to needle Sasuke with your very presence. "Of course," you say.

Itachi shows you two a trick with shuriken that hits targets in blind spots through ricocheting them on one another. Sasuke tries and fails completely, though the blunted shuriken can't help.

Itachi says, "I'm sure you'll get it soon, Sasuke," which registers as a lie to your senses.

But why would he- oh.

He tells you to try as well, and you tell him you don't know how to throw weapons yet. While Sasuke is trying, you tell Itachi, "Sasuke might have been fooled, but I wasn't, Itachi-san. What you taught him is too advanced for him or me for the next decade or so. Now, do you have something simpler for me?"

Itachi scrutinizes you, then smiles wryly. He says, "I could never get something like that past Shisui, either."

Then, he shows you how to throw a shuriken. You aren't very good at first, but over the next few hours, you improve; it's different from throwing jewels, but some of the principles are the same.

After that, Itachi shows you how to do some exercises that will improve your manual dexterity and your flexibility. Some of them are incredibly advanced for you now, but you keep them in mind and try the easier ones, as well as some you remember from Kirei, that monster.

…Wait, monster? What did he do? Is this another of those memories?

Your Dexterity&Flexibility has gone up greatly! E+ -> D+
Your Hand Seals have improved in speed due to exercises! E- -> E
Your Speed has gone up by a (+); the stored energy has been released.
Speed is at F -> E+ -> D-
Strength is at F -> E
You have gotten the skill Projectile Throwing! PT has advanced to D-
Your reputation with Itachi has gone up! D- -> D

When you are finished with all that training, you go and find Sasuke. You say, "Sasuke, it's a bit late."

He delays to answer, then says, "go away. You aren't my mom!"

You shrug and say, "okay, I'm going."

Before you get to leave, Sasuke comes up to you and says, "never mind, I'm going back home."

"Then, why are you following me?" You say with a smile.

"Shut up! It's not like I want to talk to you or anything!" Sasuke says.

And people call YOU a Tsundere. Before you giving them some passive-aggressive revenge, or a Gandr in the butt, depending on whether they know about the Moonlit World or not, of course.

…No, those days are long over; there's no going back.

You concentrate on conversation with Sasuke.

Sasuke says, "so, Rin, do you think I'll be able to manage that trick soon?"

To burst his bubble or not? Oh, well. You say, "you're talented, Sasuke. I'm sure you'll have it down by the time you make Chuunin."

Sasuke looks at you as if betrayed. He says, "what! Why? What do you mean, Rin?"

"I mean that Itachi-san showed us something very advanced to see how we would react - or something like that," you say.

"But, but…," Sasuke says. Then, he whispers, "how do you know?"

"I'm very good at sniffing out lies - or, maybe it's because Itachi-san let me realize; I'm not sure," you say.

Sasuke stays silent for a bit. Then, he says, "so, what do you think I should do?"

"Don't abandon that skill just because it's too advanced for you now; work towards it," you advise him.

Sasuke says, "…you really are ahead of me, aren't you? Dad wasn't just trying to get me to train harder when he said that."

You stop and look at Sasuke properly. You say, "so, what? Are you going to give up just because someone else surpassed you? Sasuke, you might be surpassed by all kinds of people at some point; people much younger than you, people you underestimated, your biggest rival, that one third-rate idiot who supposedly would never amount to anything. So, tell me, will you give up, or will you work smartly and hard to reach them and surpass them in turn?"

You remember how Shirou was far more powerful in combat than you, and- wait. How is that possible? Shirou being strong? He was a third-rate Magus! Oh, damn it! Now you've got to revisit your past life's memories!

Sasuke looks at you, a fire in his black eyes that you've never seen before on him. He says, "thanks Rin, I needed that. Now, everything is clear."

Sasuke rep has gone up sharply! E- -> D-

The next day, you concentrate on remembering those memories of yours that are locked. You dive into them.

"She was my sister, Tohsaka," Shirou says, full of grief.

"What…? What do you mean?" You say.

"Illya was my father's biological child," Shirou says.

What? How is that possible? You voice your confusion again.

So, Shirou tells you about how Illyasviel was born to his father Kiritsugu and an Einzbern homunculus, Irisviel. He then says, "she gave me most of the memories of her life while she was on her deathbed; I don't know why. Maybe she wanted to make sure I would believe her?"

You put a hand on his shoulder, but you don't say anything. You wish Saber were here, even if you kind of hate her....

What! That damn brat, Illyasviel von Einzbern was an Emiya!? You had no idea!

What else will you discover?

Damn it, damn it, damn it! Why did it have to be Edelfelt!

One of the three current apprentices of Zelretch has succeeded on drawing energy from alternate dimensions without the use of a tool like the Kaleidostick or the Jewel Sword. And it just had to be Luviagelita Edelfelt!

You need some advice. But who will you go to? Zelretch? Hah! Well, Lord El-Melloi II is an option.

As you turn a corner, you find yourself before… Edelfelt?

You say, "hello, Edelfelt," a bit more bitterly than usual.

"Hey, Tohsaka," she says, much more informal than her usual.

You say, "have you come to gloat, Edelfelt?"

She lifts an eyebrow and says, "me, gloat? Hohohoho! Of course not! But, you seem to be in a rather foul mood, Tohsaka. Did something bad happen?"

Was that genuine concern you heard in her voice? No, you imagined things. You say, "you know the reason very well, Edelfelt. So, I repeat: are you going to gloat or not?"

"Ah, it's about that, then," Edelfelt says, "let me tell you something, Tohsaka. Are you going to sulk over a loss, or are you going to put effort into surpassing me again? Right now, I can't recognize my epic rival; only a little girl who is pouting over a small setback!"

What? No, what! Did you just see Luviagelita Edelfelt comfort you?! That's it, you aren't going to watch any more memories for a while!

You decide to spend your time with Korin today.

You two spend your time quietly speaking about various things. No training, just being together as mother and daughter.

She offers to teach you the Taijutsu of the Uzumaki clan, but you say, "next time. For now, I just want to spend time with you, Mama!"

Your reputation with Uchiha Korin has gone up sharply! C- -> C+ rank

You remember Naruto. So, you tell your mother about Naruto-

[]Carefully, as a cousin
[]Just spit it out
[]Nothing

-----

Next, you spend time with your father. You ask him to show you some taijutsu and the Academy basic ninjutsu.

The two of you train for hours, and you progress at a fairly fast pace according to Suiho; though he admits that he's not the best at Taijutsu in the Uchiha clan. The clan's forms include parts inspired from a lot of other styles according to Papa and Grandma, but you see that there is no such thing as katas in the Uchiha style. Kirei would say that it's not really a Martial Art, most likely.

The Stat Taijutsu has progressed! (Tutor bonus: mild, Super Prodigy (Fake): great). F- -> F+
You have gotten Skill 'Interception Fist' at E-

The name -and philosophy- of the Uchiha clan's taijutsu style reminds you of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. You have also seen other strange coincidences, like the names of the Sannin matching the Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya, a myth from back on Earth, or the name of the Hokage's father having been Sarutobi Sasuke.

Suiho offers to find you another tutor for the Uchiha taijutsu; someone who truly is great at it. He will keep teaching you ninjutsu himself, either way. You

[]Accept
+This won't reduce the time you spend with your father much
+You will meet more high-ranked Uchiha this way
[]Decline

He also teaches you whatever of the ninjutsu theory required to perform the basic ninjutsu wasn't covered by your grandmother. He makes sure you are ready; then, he shows you the hand-seals and what the jutsu look like when they're used.

First, you learn the hand-seals of the Clone jutsu (Ram, Snake, Tiger); then, you try to use it.

Your first few tries fail to produce anything more than smoke, but you persevere… only to make deformed copies with the consistency of syrup a few hours later.

The stat Chakra has gone up! D- -> D
The stat Ninjutsu has gone up! E- -> E rank

Your father switches on his Sharingan and urges you to try again. You make more deformed Clones, and your father says, "interesting. Your Chakra is too potent and dense to make a proper clone."

"So, what do I do to make my Chakra less dense?" You say, a bit frustrated.

Your father shows you a few exercises that teach you how to change the density of your Chakra, but tells you that too much of them will cause Chakra burns. Your Chakra reserve has dropped too low to do any of them at the moment, though.

Over the next several months, you train your taijutsu and do the Chakra density exercises. True to your father's warning, you get Chakra burns, which hurt like a fucking bitch! You barely keep from crying the first time you get that kind of injury; your father is impressed and worried at the same time.

The skill 'Pain Tolerance' has gone up colossally! C -> B rank
Chakra Control has gone up sharply! D- -> D+ (on par with a strong Genin, 2/5 in Konoha stats)
Chakra has gone up! D -> D+ (2/5 in Konoha stats)
Taijutsu has gone up! F+ -> E
Skill 'Interception Fist' has gone up! E- -> E+
Reputation with Uchiha Suiho has gone up sharply! C+ -> B

You also spend a lot of time with your grandmother.

Nanako says, "so, what would you like to study today, Rin?"

You think it over a bit, and decide on History.

"Wise decision," she says, "what kind of history, though? The village's, international? Which of those?"

"Both," you say, smirking a bit.

"I like the way you think, Rin," Nanako says, grinning.

You proceed to repeatedly study with her for the next few months.

Nanako rep. has gone up! C+ -> B-
You have gotten the skill 'Shinobi History' at D+ rank

Finally, you spend a lot of time with Shisui.

"Nii-chan," you say at some point, "how good are you at Genjutsu?"

"Very good; maybe the best in the clan. Why - do you want me to tutor you?" He replies.

"Yes, please," you say.

"All right," he says, "just not now."

"Okay," you say and simply enjoy his company.

After an extended silence, Shisui says, "Rin. If I were to perish, what would you do?"

"…What," you say, a sick feeling going through your stomach, "are you sick, nii-chan?"

"No, nothing like that," Shisui says, "it's a hypothetical question."

"…I would hypothetically drag you up from the afterlife and beat you to death. Again, and again, and again," you say, glaring at him.

Shisui lifts his hands in surrender. He says, "whoa, slow down, Rin! The gods have saddled me with such a violent little sister…."

You feel your brows twitch. You say, "what was that…?"

"Wow," Shisui says, "is that Killing Intent?"

"Huh?" You say, confused, "was it? I didn't realize."

"…It seems like I have a lot to teach you," says Shisui.

"Okay, but don't think I forgot about what you said earlier, nii-chan! If you leave me, I'll punish you severely!" You tell him.

Your fifth birthday comes and goes, and you find out that your grandmother was a medic-nin, back in the day, when she gifts you with her medical kit. You are worried that a storm will come, so you are going to focus on training yourself.

Shisui rep has gone up! A- (halfway through A) -> A+

Training has been locked for next year:

-Learn shurikenjutsu and improve your Dexterity with Itachi
-Learn Sealing and the Uzumaki clan's taijutsu with Mama
-Learn the Academy Three with Papa, and the Uchiha taijutsu with either him or someone else
-Learn Genjutsu and how to use Killing intent with Shisui
-Learn the Uchiha clan's Sealing Style and how to heal with Grandma.
-Learn Chakra Control and how to improve your Chakra and Speed from all of them.

Spend the most time with (pick 4):

[]Sasuke
[]Itachi
[]Mama
[]Papa
[]Grandma
[]Shisui
[]Naruto

Heart to Heart (QM Omake)
An Omake of my own, crossposted from SB, so that DarkKing98 doesn't get all of them.

-----

Omake: Suiho

A nameless person who protects peace from within the shadow of self-sacrifice... that's what a true shinobi is.

That's what your father taught you, and what you told Shisui in turn. Did he have to learn so well, though?

And Fugaku is repeating the same mistakes you made. Damn fool! Like the talk of treason isn't enough!

Shisui has inherited all the best from both clans he is descended from. Nobility, a desire for freedom tempered by discipline; not to mention the physical gifts, like very large Chakra reserves and near-perfect control. And a touch of sensor talent, to boot.

Korin might not think much of Shisui's Chakra sensory, if she even realized he has inherited that from her line, but that combined with the Sharingan and his incredible reflexes allows for a Body Flicker that has become enough to possibly challenge the Raikage in a few years. You don't doubt that, if his growth doesn't slow down significantly, he'll be Kage level at fifteen. Fifteen!

His Wind nature is so well-developed, especially in collaboration jutsu with the crows, that he can devastate entire battlefields. He can even use it without hand-seals, to supplement his secondary Fire element. There has even been talk of him learning a third element, though he has put it off to master what he already has; he is not quite even fourteen, and he'll be a Jounin by this time next year, most likely.

His Genjutsu is quite likely the best in history, above such legendary masters as Uchiha Madara, Senju Toka and Senju Tobirama. Hell, even your cousin Mikoto struggles to keep up with your son, and she is a true Grandmaster that subdued the Hachibi AND the Nibi Jinchuuriki when fighting against Kumo, at the same time, without the Mangekyo. At the age of seventeen. And then proceeded to survive the Third Raikage's rampage through messing with his senses and her own strong Lightning affinity, despite his Raiton Chakra Mode being nigh-impenetrable, even by Genjutsu.

But then, why do you feel so ashamed of yourself? Why?

You know the answer to that.

It's because nobody should have to grow up that quickly.

Shisui is one of the rare few who maintain their good nature through early graduation and loss of teammates. Still, there are times when you see a forlorn expression on your son's face, and sometimes, his good humor is just a facade. The signs are there, and you know him well.

You sit at the porch outside your home, next to Shisui, in silent companionship. You break that silence to ask a question that has long been plaguing you.

Before you can think it over, you say, "do you resent me, Shisui? For robbing you of your childhood? For pushing you to graduate early?"

Shisui looks at you askance. "What brought this on?" He says.

You don't say anything.

Shisui says, "let me think how to phrase this," and you know he's seriously considering your question. Then, he says, "someone has to do it."

"Huh?" You say, confused.

"Someone has to step up and sacrifice their childhood, in order for others to sleep easy. I don't resent you, because I'm glad to be a shinobi, to have graduated early, so that others don't have to."

Your eyes water. You are seriously proud of your son right now. But there's another question. You say, "what about Rin?"

Shisui says, "do you know who I named her after, Dad?" Instead of an answer.

"You named her after Obito's teammate, right? But what does that have to do with anything?" You say.

"...Nohara Rin died at thirteen, sacrificed her life, in order to save the village from the wrath of a Bijuu. The Sanbi, to be exact," Shisui says.

You nearly sit up, horrified. "Then...?" You say.

"Rin will walk her own path," Shisui says, "if that involves early graduation, or worse, it's up to her. I will try to convince her otherwise, though."

"You trust the judgment of a child too much," you say.

"...Maybe," Shisui says, "but there is something about her that makes me believe in her; perhaps it's natural charisma, or something else. But I can't shake the feeling that she's wiser than she lets on."

You sigh. "This conversation got too heavy too quickly," you say.

"Well, it's not me who brought up the heavy stuff," Shisui says.

"True enough," you admit.

You are going to need sake; maybe your mother will be willing to let you get into her stash, or maybe your friend Shigaru will buy a round.

A Brother's Legacy (Canon Omake)
@AoMythology Omake Crosspost time!

Here you are again, ruffling your hair. You are Uchiha Shisui. And the whole Clan rebellion is starting to tear you apart. So you begin writing.

A year ago you were here writing what to train your sister Rin in to prepare her for life as a Shinobi. Now? Now you feel like your back is against the wall and you have to choose between your loyalty to the clan and to Leaf. You'd rather die than choose. So in case it comes down to it, you are writing down two things. An apology to Rin, and small tips on how to be a Shinobi. Along with tips on how to use the Shunshin like you do.

Now, you spent a lot of time figuring it out. And you don't want anyone to accidentally find this and take it with that secret, especially if they are the enemy to the village. So instead, you'll be writing hints to figure out the secret easier.

Also, thank god for mother, you are using your less well known sealing skills to secure it even more. To be specific you are creating a blood identifier lock seal. All that's needed is a drop of your blood or the drop of a family members blood to unlock it. A very complicated, but secure, seal. Some may call it paranoia. You call it being prepared.

Anyways it's not just notes of how to be a good Shinobi. It's also notes on how to live well. How to move past grief and hardships. How to work past feeling in a rut and against an unbreakable wall. And how to work with others.

God, you remember some of the absolute bastards you had to work with and how you wanted to Genjutsu some so badly. But teamwork is an important skill and so is self restraint. Something Rin has to work on.

Thinking of things to work on, you should write down some tips on proper Sharigan mastery. Using it is easy but like all bloodlines mastering the thing is very difficult to pull off. Besides, these notes will be a good review for yourself as well! Even dead you will prove yourself helpful to your sister!

You give a sad chuckle at that. Of course if she finds this, you hope it's with you still alive. It's the far more preferable outcome than the alternative.

You think of your family. Your friends. Along with the village and the clan. You think of everything important to you. And send out a mental prayer that your plan will work.

There are no certainties in life. You found this out well and early in life. So you know things might never turn out like you expect them to. For all you know, the clan may chicken out of rebelling tomorrow!

...heh. As if it was only that simple. You let out a depressed sigh. You don't like such somber, dark moods. You wish you had someone here to lighten things up a bit. But you intentionally chose this time to be able to focus.

If you have time between acting as a spy and plotting how to prevent a rebellion, maybe you can take Rin out around Leaf and show her some cool places to see. So she can see the beauty of the village and the good hiding spots if the worse comes to worst.

Before you realize it you realize that you finished writing your notes. And after a short while you finish the seal as well.

After seeing everything done and hiding the small box in a hard to find location, you sigh. Maybe you should spend some time with Rin to cheer up a bit? Maybe help a bit with her Taijutsu.

There we go.

Pranking With Naruto (Semi-canon?)
What Rin was doing was stupid, petty and spiteful.

She wasn't sure how Naruto talked her into it.

"And, done!" Naruto shouted.

"Cool, pass the yellow paint, I need it for Minato's hair," Rin replied.

Naruto didn't respond. "Naruto?" Rin asked.

Rin jumped to the top of the monument and looked around. Naruto wasn't anywhere to be found.

But there was a ninja that looked completely unimpressed with Rin chewing on a senbon needle. Busted.

"Been busy, kid?" the man said, nonplussed.

Rin did the most ninja thing she could think of. "Ultimate super-attack-no-jutsu, she shouted, making a dozen complex hand signs as the other ninja took a ready stance. Jokes on him! She had already replaced herself with a log and jumped off the monument on the second handsign!

Oh wow, there were a lot of annoyed looking ninja at the bottom of the cliff.

Think, think... "Smoke!" Rin shouted with a tremendous exhale of breath, blinding everyone below. Then as she touched the ground, she used a quick transformation to look like the senbon guy at the top of the cliff.

As the mist cleared and the ninja glanced around, shouting "Where did she go" and other such things, Tohsaka shouted out, "check the nearby shops, she has to still be near!"

Various low-level ninja ran too and fro and she looked upon her work.

While she had captured the 4th Hokage's appearance almost perfectly as he would have appeared if he was a woman, Naruto went with much more crude grafitti, smacking spirals over the other 3 faces and other such nonsense doodles.

Damn that Naruto abandoning her. She would need to get revenge on him later. Habanero in his ramen ought to do it.

She felt a hand on her shoulder, turned to look behind her, and saw senbon chewing guy again, still looking completely unimpressed. The guy she was currently disguised as.

Busted.

Naruto was so in for it later, the traitor.

Someone else can do the clone omake if they want. This was more fun.

Fun With Water Clones (Canon?)
I only do this because I had a funny idea I wanted to do. It's not like I like you or anything. [/tsundere mode]

******

"Mama, Mama, look, I learned how to do clones!" Rin said excitedly, standing next to a duplicate of herself.

"Impressive," Korin Uchiha said. It really was. As she looked over the clone she couldn't see a single flaw with it. Sure it didn't move at all, but this was Rin's first clone, so it was to be expected, "You were having so much trouble with that technique, what changed?"

"Oh, I gave up on the academy stuff and just made it using water chakra. It was so much easier!" Rin boasted. "And this clone is physical, unlike those academy clones! It's way better than the one Papa was teaching me!"

"Don't lie," Korin said casually.

"I'm not mama, see, touch it!" Rin said, dragging her mother over to the clone.

She was impressed, the clone was really there. Rin said she did this with water? How? Why? This had to be a hundred times more difficult than the academy version.

Looking at her daughter's hopeful smile, Korin grinned and held Rin in a tight grip.

And then Rin popped.

Korin was soaking wet, and Rin's previously motionless "clone" was laughing at her.

"I told you my clone was better!" Rin said.

Korin didn't get mad. Instead, she took on a sly smirk.

"Mama?" Rin asked, nervous.

"Come here you," Korin said, grabbing Rin in a tight hug.

"Wait, Mama, you're soaking wet, stop it Mama, no fair, no fair," Rin laughed.

"This is what you get for playing jokes on Mama!" Korin replied. "Now come on, let's get changed. Then we can bake you some cookies to celebrate!"

"Yay! You're the best mama ever!" Rin replied.

******

What do you guys think?

First Friend (Non-canon/Semi-canon Omake)
@AoMythology FIRE THE FIRST SHOT!

You are Uzumaki Naruto! And you are going to become Hokage one day dattebayo! Then the village will have to acknowledge your existence and respect you! You were currently enjoying some Ramen at Ichiraku's, one of the few places that actually allow you service. A place you enjoy eating at, since the chef is one of the few people that respect you.

You grin as you begin eating more eagerly. Today you had met someone who you think will actually befriend you! Her name was something Rin. She is kind of weird, but nice! So you like her.

"Oh? What's got you in such a good mood Naruto?" The chef asks in amusement.

"I made a friend my own age today!" You say cheerfully while eating.

"Oh? A friend huh? What's their name?" The chef asks surprised. You don't blame him since you were starting to lose a bit of hope too.

"Her name is Rin! She's weird but also very nice!" You say happily before remembering what she did when you last called her weird. "Uh, please don't tell her I said she was weird." You request politely.

"I won't." The chef promises laughing, making you grin.

"So yeah, she's really weird. Like she's so focused on being 'polite' and stuff." You say with annoyance. Who cares about manners besides stuffy old people?

"Sounds like a good person for you to be friends with." The chef says with a laugh. It takes you a moment to realize why.

"Hey!" You complain with a pout. That was not funny!

"Sorry, sorry." The chef apologizes chuckling. "Hey, how about next time to bring this Rin girl here and you both can get a bowl of ramen on the house?" The chef offers with a small grin.

"You got yourself a deal!" You shout energetically with a huge grin. You know Rin is going to love this place! After all, who doesn't love Ramen?

"So Naruto, you're starting the Academy next year. You think you'll see your friend there?" The cook asks you.

"Of course I will! Because a nice person like Rin-san will totally be an awesome ninja! Not as awesome as I will be of course, but still!" You state to the cook confidently. And you are confident because why wouldn't everyone want to be a ninja? The Old Man is sort of cool and he's been a ninja for years!

The cook just simply chuckles at your statement and shakes his head before allowing you to finish your Ramen.

I am not proud of this. I'd have liked another 80-120 words. But it fights me too much to try. Hope you still enjoy it though.
