[x] [Parks] Sean Patrick Flannery
[x] [Laughton] Hamish Linklater
[x] [Neal] Robin Williams
[x] Focus on smoothing any obstacles for the Technical Aspects of the production and filming of the movie (Costs all 3 actions)

[X] Plan With No Name
-[x] [Simon] Ryan Reynolds
-[x] [Eric] Hayden Christensen
-[x] [Nefaria] Brendan Fraser
-[x] [Parks] Sean Patrick Flannery
-[x] [Laughton] Hamish Linklater
-[x] [Neal] Robin Williams
-[X] Network with Ike Perlmutter (Roll)
-[X] Network with Marvel Executives (Roll)

[X] Plan Shake Things Up
[x] Plan: Saving Private Ryan

I think Cavill can sell being a fictional movie star better, but Hayden is still an interesting option.

[X] Plan: Wonderous Wonder Man Movie

We'd need to acquire Deadpool first of course, but Fox doesn't have their stranglehold on the IP that they will when they realize that, yes, an R-Rated Superhero film will in fact sell.

Well. Tom Rothman is still the boss there and he got massive hate boner toward the character (and superhero films in general) so getting the rights while he is still there should be quite doable. He is the reason btw why Deadpool mouth was shut at the Wolverine movie. He is good at keeping things profitable. On his watch films made profit. Not that likeable person if you want make superhero movies though.

At some point, I want to write an omake that has Robin Williams and Matt Miller become friends during the production of Wonder Man. And maybe, I'll write an omake that butterflies Robin's death in 2014 away and get Robin the help he needs.

@DaOneInDaCorner, wanna collab?

What's funny is the way the plot is constructed, Neal Saroyan is basically Nefaria's foil/rival in the film.

Nefaria is dragging the antagonist down to villainy while Neal is propping the protagonist up to heroism.

Having Neal become the avengers agent (maybe because they don't trust SHIELD / the government) could be an interesting way to keep him around, and maybe make his "rivalry" with Nefaria more implicit.

[] [Simon] Ryan Reynolds – Vaughn's first choice for the role, and he does have that charm that blooms in comedies. He's being scouted by DC for some role, but he might be willing to give you a chance after the disaster that was his last adventure in Marvel.
Based on this description I think he is going to do a DC role. And if we don't pick him up, with Feige at DC instead of the usual people, the movie he's in could actually be good. And if it is good we won't be able to use him at all let alone using him for Deadpool: it would be years away even IF we convince Marvel to buy AND Fox to sell, and he's already being scouted. By then he'll be firmly established in the DCU.

So really its a choice of do we want Ryan Reynolds or Henry Cavill for the role of Wonder Man. Based on the description, Ryan Reynolds is our director's first choice and he has the looks and the comedic chops compared to Henry Cavill who just has the looks.

So I'm going to retract my vote for the plan Saving Private Ryan. I would rather have Ryan Reynolds be Wonder Man than lose him to DC for all the above reasons.

If we do get the rights to Deadpool later on we could still cast him as deadpool as well. Go full meta.

True, true... But then again, Feige was probably involved in The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2 OTL, so I feel like though Feige will make better DC movies than OTL it's not a guarantee they will always be good.

He is a major Deadpool fan and we could possibly negotiate with Warner Bros/DC.

Edit: @overmind is it possible for me to write an Disney omake? With Warner Bros/DC Disney will need marvel and even though talks fell through last time I honestly think they might reapproach us again in the future.

Go ahead, if you want to write, then you can write.

As a side note, did you see my question about whether or not we could hold auditions before shooting between actors for a particular role? I don't know if I actually managed to @ you, because I did it by edit and I don't think that counts for notifications…

I figure doing so would probably take one of three pre-shoot actions, but maybe it could give a slight bonus to whoever 'wins' this audition? Not sure how that would work mechanically.

Should we really join Disney? I don't know if the 'family-friendly' route is the best one to take, to be honest. Yes, the mouse has a shit-ton of money, but we will be creatively dead-locked in a lot of ways. One of the most important things with Netflix Marvel, is the fact that they took a darker route with their characters, and it was incredibly good. Much better than some of the creatively-drained stuff that Disney-owned Marvel has a lot of, because darker themes are something they are very hesitant to explore. Disney's lack of influence on us, seems to have done really good, and I would really hate for that to go.

There is also the fact that any form of representation will be hard to sell, given that Disney's executives basically no-sold any attempt to integrate serious themes of diversity and politics beyond 'yas grill pwr!' until very recently with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but even then the political mish-mash was so diluted that it felt a little stupid. We should not turn away from these themes, and hopefully we manage to convince people that having progressive ideas in your film isn't 'the feminists/homosexuals/anyone not conventional are taking over!' because that really sucks.
