Wow. Your amazing knowledge of punctuation and humour has clearly invalidated all opposition towards you like the combined power of four Mexican aircraft carriers. I was initially confused by the response to etranger's IC posts which were allowed by the gm, but now your intellectual light shining upon a mere mortal like myself has shown me the error of my ways for not being a dick to people that I disagree with.

Surely it is a sign from the divine that the gm's temporary inactivity means that both IC and OOC mocking of a player is justified.

It seems that having a different view of how your nation should be played is anathema towards your supreme judgement in plausibility, an offence to your glory that only deserves mockery. Though some part of me remembers that sometime ago another person was bitching about people judging their "4 MEXICAN AIRCRAFT CARRIERS". However it is beyond my station for one such as me to judge your unfathomable wisdom concerning these issues, an understanding that surely transcends even that of the actual GM.

While I'm only a minor mod for the game, I feel that Chaotic would like it best if we all stopped posting for a bit, cleared our heads, and got back on the topic of the RP, which has been lost upon the heads of all (myself included) with chicanery and memery.
The whole setting and freeform nature has been rather controversial and even I, a man of many talents, has fallen prey to the need to shitpost. I don't believe personally any targeted harassment was intended with the message to directly upset, and statements made were just heat of the moment reactions to boys being boys. In my opinion, and I'll talk to the rest of the game's mods while Chaotic is indisposed of, that we ought to relax for a bit. Personally no infractions should be issued imo because a good portion of the guys present here are active in the GSRP subforum and ought to be allowed to stick around especially if its a one off thing.

There's a mod watching, fellas, cool ya' brains.

@firepelt123 when you say "seized" do you actually mean that Ethiopia simply expropriated Russian ships stationed in the country? That... would be unwise.

I mean, given that the former Russian Empire appears to parallel the former USSR with massive amounts of excess military equipment lying around, I'm sure the post-Imperial Russian state would have been more than willing to sell Ethiopia ships it no longer needed. It probably wouldn't be at the kind of massively-subsidised rates below market price but the fact remains that there's a good chance for the Ethiopian government to acquire the equipment it wants.

Just expropriating it outright without compensation would cause a problem, and the Russian government would be completely justified in seeking appropriate recompense for the theft of their military equipment. Even if Ethiopia didn't have the money at the time, it probably could have worked out a repayment plan or simply paid in resources which was not uncommon for historical Soviet allies.

There are plenty of countries that probably have equipment they were sold or given as military aid at generous rates. But, IOTL, countries which had deployments of Soviet troops and equipment usually made arrangements to allow the troops to withdraw and take their equipment with them (such as in former Warsaw Pact nations). To actually simply seize it and say "it's part of our fleet now, no takebacks" would actually be a huge breach of bilateral relations.

That I get, my issue are the people who didn't ask beforehand, as a number of players did in DMs or over Discord if I could sign some form of approval on the status of Imperial equipment and my various pre-collapse alliances. My concern are the people who take stats and figures that sure, exist OTL, but may have not been a thing TTL.
 
So Ceslas has dropped out of the game due to the threadban, so the Mexican Empire is now open.
 
I'd be happy to pick it up. That, or indeed, any other country, state, paramilitary, regional basket weaving organisation or village council.

At present we probably need an SSR more than we need a Mexican Empire, but your call.
