The World Turned Upside Down - A 20th Century Nation Game (HIATUS?)

I mean, there's also the whole "Not!Cold War is over, time to demonstrate our prowess as Global Constable" factor that might be influencing the UK, much as the same thinking motivated the US in both the Gulf War and Yugoslav campaigns.

Basically, being a superpower means you get to decide what is and isn't a human rights violation worthy of outside intervention.

Still, with all these challenges, Britain remains a stalwart fighter for the liberal, human rights regime it has carefully built up for the better part of a century.
Rereading the intro, it seems clear to me that England has been creating the concept of human rights whole cloth for the past few decades to justify interventions whenever and wherever they want to.

Seeing as there are multiple layers to peel through, what is best: a World Congress and global economy as well as a non-player character response first, or answering of various out-of-character questions? Attempting to gauge prioritization, as there is much to cover.

Most non-player diplomatic responses are resolved. More will come soon. In order to simplify the World Congress, the structure of the organization will take that of the League of Nations, and a separate thread will be created in order to bring up issues thought necessary.

If there are out-of-character questions that need answering, please repeat them, and I will do my best to do so speedily. Expect plan results to trickle in accordingly.

I apologies for my delay, and urge the participants to continue this nation game, as the world is set to take interesting turns in the near future.

Technology Advances
To respond to technological advancement queries: all technology will take place as internal events within a reasonable amount of time.

Nuclear reactors will not spring up overnight. Infrastructure with generators and power lines will not replace rural farms in a snap. All technology takes time, money, and effort, and unless there is a valid explanation for all of those, than consider it infeasible.

Moderator action will be taken for over egregious technological advancement as seen fit.

@ChaoticGenius just a heads up, the USS Theodore Roosevelt is a Guided Missile Battlecruiser similar to the OTL Kirov Class, not an aircraft carrier.

So is this directed at me?

I will note that Britain offered to help me with nuclear reactors, so I decided to take up that offer, and OTL there was a semi-failed South African business that wanted to sell nuclear reactors, so I decided to make use of that, though a bit earlier than they actually existed IRL.

I don't expect them to be completed in a snap, (and actually expect more literal years) and have been more or less trying to keep timeframes vague, except for one reactor in a capital city which I can point to and say "see! Aren't my infrastructure projects great!". :p

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, we appreciate the condolences offered, and request material aid in defeating the Islamist threat that threatens their own colonies of Moslems.
:thonk:
More than 86 percent of the [Phillipines] population is Roman Catholic, 6 percent belong to various nationalized Christian cults, and another 2 percent belong to well over 100 Protestant denominations. In addition to the Christian majority, there is a vigorous 4 percent Muslim minority

Then such material aid will happily be given to some extent, and further sold if the Philippines should desire it. Portugal has no desire for military ventures in Southeast Asia, and merely wish to protect the stable and legitimate governments that exist there, to avoid a repeat of the Indonesian situation.
I know the Phillipines government is neither stable nor legitimate, but I'm a simple portugal. I see Islamists bombing Catholics, I give weapons to the Catholics.

"Elections for the Council of the World Congress will be held in the Year of Our Lord 1992
I wouldn't expect this sort of language to be used in a supposedly religiously diverse institution like the World Congress?
"An Emergency Session of the Council has been called to discuss the worsening situations in the Republic of Mesopotamia, the Congo, the Gulf Coast, the Nicaraguan Canal, and various other flashpoints of a world contracting at the end of the Great Game. How these nations, with their conflicting missions, resolve them, is a different matter. However, they must deliberate and present their resolution to a vote amongst the General Assembly by the end of the year, otherwise their reputation, especially that of the electable members, is seriously harmed."
Am I correct in assuming the Congo peacekeeping is already a World Congress measure? I assumed so because of the diverse range of nations apparently supporting it. ("From Cisplatina to Japan")
3) The Gulf of Mexico Refugee Crisis
What Gulf of Mexico Refugee Crisis? :???:

the whole confederacy collapse thing I think is what that is referring to.

In a World Congress dominated by Christian European powers you would.

It is, hence its presence on the Secretariats' agenda.

On another note, expect results for submitted plans by this afternoon.

Where is the world Congress thread and is South Africa invited? Can I bring my Vuvuzela?
