Minor Action: Build factories producing The modified laz guns found by Cyclomancer Gerellinis
what I'm talking about
If It stated a name, I would have used it instead, which I assume in story it does. So Counts as a minor action to me. Since Build factories producing X, is "not open to much interpretation."
Roll: 2
Another load of las guns is produced on Mars and shipped in an express convoy to the Warp field. At this point things have nearly stabilized. Hundreds of thousands of troops are dying every day, but the continuous shipments of anti daemon weaponry is having an effect. The problem is there's no real winning state here. The daemons keep coming through in nearly infinite numbers and it's all the Imperium can do to train new troops on Terra to replace losses.
Type: Minor
Whisper: Begin training local specialist forces to take on necron forces, whether through unconventional tactics, or additional weaponry.
Roll: 13
It's not the highest priority given the daemon incursion, but several magi note that since most of the Omnissiah's relics are on Necron tomb worlds it might be a good idea to have some specialist forces to deal with them. Several regiments of skitarii are equipped with heavy plasma weaponry and trained extensively to quickly focus fire on targets to dismantle even the toughest necron warriors swiftly and efficiently.
Now they just need to be tested in real battle.
Minor Action: Blow up cadia to stop the chaos forces.
Because
@SouvikKundu , this is my ultimatum, you want a human victory ? Do so whitout the emperor, or not at all.
Roll: 11
Despite Archmagos Ivonivion's extreme displeasure a group of magi have decided that the Cadian Black Crusade is unwinnable and have decided to plant charges in the planet to detonate it and trigger an energy surge through all the remaining pylons. They immediately begin their preparations.
Medium whisper: declare the one attempting to blow up cadia as heretics
Roll: 37
However they are soon interrupted by Archmagos Ivonivion's forces. The Archmagos still has plans to study the Cadian pylons, and more importantly the Imperium is actually winning. When the explosive magi refuse to listen to reason she has her forces begin to actively attack their encampments.
Major Whispers
Subtly make the Golden Throne weaker
Roll: 39
Despite the truce several of the Omnissian Faithful remain behind in secret and discretely add modifications to the throne that will lead to its life support systems failing again. Unfortunately that will take a few hundred years.
Major Whisper: Modify the Golden Throne so that we get a portion of all energy that is consumed.
Roll: 27
Meanwhile the Order of the Dragon also left agents behind, and they redirect several of the psionic linkages to beam the souls to Mars. They are somewhat confused as to what exactly they are doing, but they have enough faith in the Omnissiah to do it anyway.
Mag'ladroth is not sure how to feel about eating Eldar souls. Energy is energy, but it's not particularly fond of the taste.
Medium Whisper: To the techpriests planning to blow up Cadia show them a vision. The vision first shows the entire galaxy being corrupted by Chaos, then it shows the Draconic Omnissiah looking at them angrily, and finally it shows the Omnissiah devouring their souls.
Edit: Sorry guys.
Roll: 42
After recieving another contradictory vision from the Omnissiah the explosive magi are uncertain as to their course of action. They call a truce with Archmagos Ivonivion and agree to not detonate Cadia as long as the current situation persists. However they continue to plant their planetary charges just in case things take a turn for the worse.
I think people need to focus more on wrecking the Goldem Throne more instead of saving Cadia from a failed explosion before I have to try Blackstone percursive maintenance.
Minor Whisper : The heretical modification to Throne life suport must be destroyed.
Roll: 2
A strike force of Orthodox Mechanicus from Mars arrives at the throne and arrests every tech priest there. They remove all of the recent modifications and work to return the Golden Throne to it's previous state through a combination of repairing sabotage and deliberately destroyed newly repaired portions.
Major Whisper
Have a tech priest learn from the explorators mistake and make a better lasgun
Edi: Shit
Roll: 81
The explosion was smaller this time. Only about a sixth of Mars was destroyed in the resulting blast. And the planet was already imbued with the strange energy so there was no noticeable change there. The Fabricator General bans all future las gun experiments on Mars.
So after 9 updates if I didn't miss anything we have clues for 3 shards, found a shard of another Star God and now need 12 to get free instead of 10.
Yeah, even discounting the madness, negative progress is jut bad. Lets try to fix that.
Minor Whisper: Move Holy Artefact from Ultramar to Mars.
Edit: One down eleven to go.
Roll: 6
A Mechanicus expedition to Ultramar conducts strenuous negotiation with the Ultramarines in regards to the relic of the Omnissiah. The ultramarines are unwilling to relinquish their trophy, and given that it is not an STC, but in fact appears to be some of xenos archeotech maintain the position that existing treaties do not cover it's allocation. Meanwhile the Mechanicus Factors are just as adamant that it is in fact an Omnissian relic not a xenos artifact, and thus subjection to all the treaties regarding technological relics as any other STC.
After much debate the Ultramarines agree to hand over the artifact so long as the Mechanicus will try its utmost to heal their gravely injured Father. The factors agree not seeing much other choice.
Type: Minor Whisper
Description: Paint a moustache on the emperor.
Edit: Oh looks like it's gonna be a nice looking one.
Roll: 3
An unknown assailant manages to slip past both the Custodes and the tech priests in the throne room and paints a mustache on the somewhat less withered body of the Emperor/Empress. It's a very fetching mustache, and draws much appreciation for how dignified it makes the Emperor. The Master of Mankind is in fact pleased himself and spontaneously grows a corresponding mustache.
[X] Create a spare body for a shard (but mess it up in a way that it summons me,the Plague Doctor)
Notes:I wanted to see if I can do this. Edit: Barely got it
Roll: 10
On a far distant moon a group of borderline hereteks slave away to the plans of a distant song. It hums in their cogitators with a siren quality that drive them to complete a great secret work. Using scraps of necrodermis wrapped around the frame of a knight they assemble a great body. Finally in place of a Throne Mechanicum the leader of the acolytes, a mere lexmechanic, carefully inserts and ancient object pulsing with green light.
Shuddering the light flows through the frame of the vessel and the massive machine twists and shakes as its components shift and reassemble repairing damaged parts and making connections between disparate components.
Finally the Shard of the Void Dragon looks out over the assembled tech priests. Much diminished but at least capable of independent action once more.
(Plague Doctor has first call on this shard and anything that happens to it.)
Major Whisper: Break into the Vault of Mars to find enough exotic materials to make a Bomb of Common Sense.
Roll: 51
The vault of Moravec has been sealed for millennia, but tech priests guided by ancient fragments have finally found it. Inside they find the remnants of ancient relics lost since the great schism of the Mechanicus in the thirtieth millennium. There are dangerous artifacts here, and even more dangerous knowledge. But the tech priests aren't after that. Instead they plunder a store of exotic elements. Strange particles and chaotic matter that has little in common with reality.
Their plan is to build a logic bomb that will disseminate wisdom and sense across Mars. Finally the numerous schisms of the past few decades will cease. Unfortunately the plan fails at an unexpected junction. It is technically possible given their gathered materials, but the tech priests cannot agree what common sense actually is. Soon enough the vault has suffered its own schism. A tiny replica of the arguments and fighting raging across Mars.
Major Whisper: Launch incursions into T'au Space and acquire some of their technology for study, particularly their AI technology.
Edit: Wow.
Roll: 3
A Tau counter offensive draws the explorators out of their studies. It is a mistake on the xenos part. Magos Militant Hav and his peers are among some of the most well versed strategists in the Mechanicus. Their fleet was specifically designed to assault a well defended Necron Tomb world and is equipped with the most advanced of Martian technology.
Plus they've just finished studying exactly how to dismantle Tau battlesuits. When the Tau land their reinforcements the secutors and skitarii beat them back quickly while the ark mechanicus in orbit lay waste to their fleet. The explorator fleet lets the surviving Tau ships flee, charts their projected course, and then jumps ahead of them to assault the Tau worlds before they can receive word of the defeat.
This repeats twice more before the leading explorators decide that they risk over extension and encirclement. In the end they withdraw back across the Gulf of Damocles with their prizes of technology and tactical data.
Minor Whisper: collect any exotic matter particles created as byproducts of very high energy collisions in the outskirts of the solar system.
Roll d20... ouch. Well, some techpriest is in for a really bad day.
Roll: 20
A major miscalculation in the orbital trajectories of the comets leads to one impacting on the control station. This in turn leads to a loss of control in another dozen cometary engines, which bombard the inner solar system. Thousands of habitats are lost and Venus suffers an impact from a comet that knocks it slightly askew.
Medium Whisper: Designate some non-inhabited systems for destructive tests, so others stop complaining.
Roll: 25
After much deliberation a system a few light years from sol and only containing a few barren planets is chosen to host all future dangerous experiments. The first transfers are the rebuilt high energy transfer station and a new outpost to conduct las gun testing. This is regarded as a great success until an anonymous tech priest points out that the current most destructive test is an apparently simple las gun modification. How can they be sure they are moving the actual destructive tests. And if they moved all the experiments, then the system would be so full of outposts, compounds, and valuable technology as to no longer be worthless.
Type: Major Whisper
Description: discover a stc in the mechanicus archives containing plans for incredibly beautiful and more efficient mass-manufactured and very cheap protecis and mechandrites
Roll: 15
Now that the genetors finally seem to have been purged the Mechanicus can finally get down to the proper business of replacing their flesh with divine machinery. To that end the artificers work tirelessly to design pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and incredibly functional. They soon have the production down to such a science that Mars pattern prosthetics are in use all over the Imperium.
Although a few stubborn hold outs refuse to use them citing concerns from the Mesh implant incident.
Type: Major Whisper
Description: use the Sentry Array to search for the fragment
Roll: 32
The astronomers in charge of the orrery attempt to use it to find the relics of the Omnissiah. Unfortunately no matter how many patterns they move it into they cannot seem to make any sense of the divinations and read a functional relic location from it.
Major whisper: send the 11 greatest diplomat/assassin/thief/hacker maguses we have to heist the shard from the clutches of the ultramarines
Roll: 33
The relic has already been retrieved from the Ultramarines so there is some vigorous discussion over what this latest vision from the Omnissiah means. Some think that the Ultramarines must have another relic. Others that the Ultramarines gave the factors a fake. Eventually however the consensus is that the Omnissiah must want the Mechanicus to fulfill its end of deal and also be prepared to assist Guilliamine once he is healed.
After some prompting Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl begrudgingly admits to having some thoughts on how to heal the mortally wounded primarch. Together with a specially picked team of some of the best experts on Mars in all fields he travels to Ultramar and does
something to the primarch that succeeds in healing his wounds.
There is great rejoicing among the Ultramarines.
Major whisper: create extensive number of anti psychic and anti demonic weapons and machines, pylons to take back imperial webway from daemons and seal it from warp permanently. Create infrastructure to mass produce such weapons to supply the Admech so that they can take back imperial webway.
Roll: 32
Additional pylons are created and stockpiled on Mars along with other anti daemon weaponry. The problem that immediatly arises however is that the Web Way is inherently a construct of the warp. Attempts to seal it in this matter simply results in the collapse of several minor web way conduits and the loss of the expeditions assigned to the tests.
Minor Whisper: Bombard the tomb world with anything you can grab in the system. Meteors, moons, planets, any spacehulks and/or Orks that show up.
Roll: 13
Using lessons learned from the high speed impact experiments the explorators gather several comets and bombard the necron tomb world with devestating impacts. They are more or less succesful in keeping the necrons contained, but are unable to do too much damage to the tomb complex for fear of damaging the artifact they came for.
Medium Whisper: Develop an Anti-Insanity Task Force for Mars. Well, a new one. The already existing ones have obviously either been corrupted or proven insufficient. Either way, Mars really needs to improve it's protections against all the renegades, hereteks and Forces of Corruption which have been plaguing it recently. Even if that just means identifying who is aflicted and making sure whatever new project-that-is-going-to-frak-up-horrifically is conducted outside of Sol and preferably outside of any important inhabited system.
Roll: 39
Everyone agrees that developing a new measure to protect against the rampant radical ideas and unorthodox views is a good thing. There has simply been too much chaos on Mars. However when everyone puts forward members of their own faction to lead the task it soon become clear that no one actually agrees on which ideas are tainted. And when the task force is finally assembled after much political wrangling it quickly becomes apparent that drawing them from the same pool of somewhat insane tech priests as the rest of Mars has had consequences.
Namely that the task force promptly schisms and turns on itself in the name of preserving order. It does at least unite to take care of the really big tech heresies.
Major whisper: organize grand conclave where representatives belonging to different ideologies of admech are gathered unless they are chaos tainted. They try to provide a unifying ideology to deal with various contradictions. Previous ideologies modified. Such as
1. Omnissiash is trinity and while Emperor is the human avatar he is part of whole,
2.Omnissiash icon as dragon accepted
3. Both Omnissiash and Emperor are Gender fluid so they can be male/female or both
4. Xeno tech if not tainted by chaos can be studied and replicated but never used in its original form similarly if ai accept supremacy of omnissiash it can get status of machine spirit.
5. Chaos and warp is unpredictable best to avoid those and remove chaos tainted from galaxy. Steps will be taken to create non Warp based FTL and Comm.
6. All technology of admech will be standardize and streamlined and rigorous quality control will be enforced. There will extensive tests must be made before starting any sort of hazardous experiments.
7. After experiencing any omnissiash induced vision fabricator general and ruling council of admech must be consulted before taking any actions to reduce harm to admech though fallout.
8. Admech must improve quality of state of normal people under their aegis though education and providing resources. To create grass root support among Imperium and provide a humanistic face to imperials and increase overall popularity. Main goal will be to catalog and modify human gene from any hostile mutations and increase number of sane and stable blanks artificially.
9. main goal is to enlighten humanity and promote them to state of Daot. Not just for admech but also for all citizen of Imperium. So that omnissiash bless humanity as his most loyal servant race and provide tools to impose galactic supremacy.
10. Expansion of pylons all over major planets and sol system will be main goal. Imperial palace will be extensively updated with anti psychic devices to protect it from chaos and daemons. Custodes and other soldiers will be provided with anti psychic weapons to deal with warp tear in terra.
11. Currently main resources of admech will be focused to take back imperial webway and through it to bring judgment to dark Eldars.
12. Admech will show unifed front before Imperium to shield itself from any attacks.
Roll: 43
The Council of Olympus is drawn up with some trepidation by the tech priests who know how putting that many dissenting magi in the same room goes. Once the articles are presented it soon becomes clear that the main supporters of the Council of Olympus are themselves radical magi with drastically unorthodox views. The Orthodox magi present are not at all happy, and only the presence of the new formed security task force keeps things from descending into violence again.
Instead the magi settle in for a few decades of serious political argument.
Major Whisper
Due to treat of daemon invasion on terra Psychic linkage of Golden Thrones soul harvester will be repaired and modified. A portion of psychic sacrifice will be projected using exotic machinery to reduce effect of daemons and chaos on sol system and make daemon summoning sol system extremely hard for chaos due to Emperor's nature as Anathema. Human soul and Essence lost in warp will be utilize to create such effect though esoteric machines and Emperor's psychic abilities to curtail chaos.
Just to clarify this is rerouting of psychic souls that are lost due to sabotage to upgrade sol system and terra. Emperor getting less souls than before but we are using portion that are lost it warp for our use to protect sol through esoteric projectors and pylons.
Roll: 15
A portion of the eldar souls are redirected from the Emperor into the warp rift using arcane machinery in an effort to fix and stabilize it. This works somewhat. The rift does get smaller. However it also results in a far higher quantity of Keepers of Secrets as the proportion of Slaanesh daemons involved in the invasion sky rockets.
Medium Whisper: Experiment with subwoofers that reproduce audio in frequencies not audible to the great majority of humankind, to weaponize rickrolling against dirty xenos.
Roll: 19
The Secretive Peripherant of the Ancient Variable have rolled out their mass produced version of the ancient memetic weapon. It seems to work fairly effectively on xenos captives and has no affect on nearby humans. Imperial humans that is. Notable numbers of the Mechanicus are equipped with auditory augments that extend their hearing range. So there are usually some casualties on the Mechanicus side when deploying the weapon.
Type: Medium (Major?)
Techmarines and Magi all across the 500 Worlds of Ultramar are struck with a vision of the sheer scale of the chaos and Chaos breaking out in Sol. This looks like an Ultrajob for the Ultramarines (and their Ultrasuccessors), no? But to ensure victory on Mars, it is absolutely vital that they bring along the recently-acquired sacred artefact of the Omnissiah along with them.
Girl help I fucked up the dice function so bad ignore the two extras
Roll: 9
Once informed about the warp rift in Sol Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines, is entirely willing to journey to Sol and help. He assembles as many Ultramarines as he can along with their successor and ally chapters and launches a crusade to retake the Sol System for humanity.
The Chaos Gods would love to stop this from happening, but they're already occupied on two fronts and as such the crusade sees no more than the regular amount of pirate attacks, dark eldar raids, and chaos warbands on its journey to the center of humanity.
Major Whisper: Screw being subtle. Screw the warp. Screw the humans. Screw the eldar. Screw the necrons. Screw the tau. Screw the tyranids. Screw the orkz. Screw everyone. Screw the other C'tan!
Servants of the Omnissiah, go forth into mineral rich worlds, tomb worlds, etc. If you find any Pylons, BRING THE PYLONS TO MARS. If you find Blackstone, BRING THE BLACKSTONE TO MARS. Use the black stone to construct Pylons in the style of Cadia to calm the Warp around Mars. DO NOT GO TO CADIA. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING FROM CADIA.
Please make sure that the displeasure with everyone is made clear.
Roll: 32
The Mechanicus is a little occupied keeping the Sol warp rift contained and the Cadian front supplied, but several forge worlds dutifully report for the duty of blackstone collection. Once given the characteristics of the mineral they begin to collect the enigmatic material and send a slow but steady stream of Blackstone to Mars.
Unfortunately they also stir up a lot of Necron tomb worlds in the process. It doesn't help that the Szarekh seems to have been rousing the necron dynasties as well after the kicking fiasco.
Quest Note: I think that I have finally caught up with everyone. Please let me know if I missed any whispers. Also please still refrain from doing any more whispers until I make my next post as I have a change I want to make to how Whispers work.
