Does it even matter who pushed Taylor into the locker? No used sanitation products were involved so it's just a stupid school prank and nothing more. The moronic janitor who didn't help her already got reprimanded and so I don't see why the police or the PRT should even get involved. The school can handle minor matters like this.

We don't even know if Taylor knows who did it.

Yeah you've got a point there, this was nowhere near the level of the canon locker prank so TBH i'm not sure they would be doing all that much to look into who did what. Especially as this is, unfortunately, a pretty common thing to see happen even in the real world. The only reason the PRT and Protectorate care about it this time is that the person put in the locker apparently got superpowers out of it.

@Grounders10 Nice start, given Taylor's water control, and the way gods seem to gain power in adversity I am imagining Taylor dueling Leviathan for control of the sea when it shows up to attack.

One nit pick - I don't care how expensive Brandish's time is, it's not enough to make it impossible for Danny to afford her. It could be expensive enough he'd have to break into his savings and/or take a loan to cover it if the negotiations drag on, but that wouldn't make the PRT wonder about how he could afford her.

Bullying-mitigation? Probably not. Bullies are like drill sergeants: Any response, including no response, is the wrong answer. But Danny? You can bet that Taylor learned to dance around questions like a ballerina when it comes to avoiding her father. Questions like "What happened to your clothes?" "Where's your mothers' flute?" "Where'd this bruise come from?"
I didn't say her bullying-mitigation was effective. It clearly wasn't. I was also counting "dealing with Dad" and "dealing with the teachers who 'won't do anything about it anyways'" as part of it, since she seemed to think of it that way.

Basically, just because her efforts were actively counterproductive doesn't mean they were any less real.

Actually, it was brought up by Danny that the PRT had been called to the school due to damage to her locker that was believed to be caused by a parahuman. And Taylor mentioned in the same convo that "some bullies" shoved her in as an end of year prank. No mention of ongoing campaign or anything though, and nothing on who the bullies were. Chapter 2, if you're interested.

I'd be interested if Battery actually thinks Taylor had an "unusually calm trigger", or if she thinks that it was worse and Taylor's just suppressing the memories by creating the whole vision quest fantasy (or is a vial cape, I suppose).

okay, change made to chapter three:
"Taylor sighed. Here she went again. "Not much to tell really?" She shrugged, "I got locked in my locker at the end of friday classes. I didn't see who did it I was too focused on packing my bag." And the hand had been far too large to be anyone who normally bullied her.

"We found the locker." Battery said, "Well the police found the locker. It had been nearly kicked off its hinges and then slammed shut hard enough to jam the corners through the locker next to it." "

Any further questions fall under the section: "It took an hour and a half. An hour filled with questions, clarifications, and her dad bringing drinks and snacks to them, twice, before she finished. She left out the little bit about being a Goddess again, despite the annoyed noises that Inari was making."

Reads fine to me, but I thought the original was fine too.

Not big, just notably bigger than Sophia or Emma. That narrows it down to approximately every single male in Winslow. See my previous commentary about how a locker-shove sans biohazard material being spur of the moment enough that more or less anyone could have done it. Shit for all we know some jackasses saw it happen in a movie the night before and just happened to be talking about the scene when they spotted Taylor and just... went for it.

Either this is an extremely subtle chekov's gun, or the identity of the shover is basically irrelevant.

Given gods are real though the actual culprit is probably whatever's left of the Fates manipulating things because they need the new gods to start waking up sharpish instead of on their own time.

Edit: That or it was Contessa running through a path she didn't understand. Or The Simurgh seeing dominoes fall to her liking from this. Or a Joint Cauldron-Simurgh plot to see if this will help fuck up scion's day. Before you ask how that works, it was obviously Contessa shoving Taylor into a locker while badly disguised as a high schooler (hence the larger than expected hands) followed by the Simurgh unnaturally stilling the air in front of the locker so that none but the janitor (who wasn't actually relevant to the plot but had simurgh porn on his computer and Simmie is a pure girl, dammit) could actually hear her.

I really probably shouldn't be here at 4am.

If I remember correctly, this happened earlier than cannon and Sophia isn't in the picture yet. So while I know this is really odd to say, Sophia and Emma are blameless. Really weird to say.
If the bullying is at all a thing, Sophia should be in the picture. Not in the Wards, but in the picture.

Of course, we still haven't seen her mentioned at all, so who knows.

But are we sure this is the targeted bullying of cannon and not just some random jerk trying to be funny by stuffing a nerd in a locker? What I mean is, we know that bullying is a thing, but is the bullying campaign a thing?

From the revised chapter 3, emphasis mine.

And the hand had been far too large to be anyone who normally bullied her.

She has normal bullies, and we can infer that it is Emma and Sophia because that was a direct result of the ABB Alley incidient and Emma's falling out with Taylor afterwords. If that hadn't happened Emma would still be the teen model and social butterfly, but would consider Taylor one of her close friends still; and why would she let her close friend be bullied? It is awful on a personal level, and makes her social power look shaky on a pragmatic one.

I assume you mean this bit:
And the hand had been far too large to be anyone who normally bullied her.
This does make it more likely that Emma and Sophia are being the same as usual. But until names are dropped I am going to consider Sophia and Emma a possibility(A very likely one). This could be a bait and switch, make us think it's them and then it turn out she got bullied by someone else.

I kind of want to see Taylor and SS meet now. Especially after she figures out how to Force Lightning properly. Think they will ship SS to Los Angeles after the first or twentieth time she got tazed unconscious by Taytsune?

I like this idea.

"Can you not shock her?"

"Her mouth deserves zotting. It's a logic puzzle that has a satisfying solution for me."

I should point out that, with Taylor's domain of Foxes, she might get a minor connection to Fire. I mean, foxes and fire are connected (fox fire for example) in many people's head. Means Taylor could end up with some power over three of the alchemical elements.

Also wonder when Taylor will be able to break out the shapeshifting. I mean it's a common ability of gods, and considering the connection between foxes and tricksters, it would really fit among her powers, even if not an actual domain.

Forget fox fire, people these days think of Firefox!

"Inari, why do I have an internet connection in my head? Wow, this is really—AUGH! I need an adblocker! And brain bleach!"

It seems like she might have a smattering of the big three there at the beginning, what Inari passed along, and how many other flickers of power any other gods may have held in reserve at the end. Be funny if she has her debut as an outed Cape and then finds she can shape change to a human look.

Watching this.
If you remember it, Inari did mention that her lineage and site of her birth had also an influence on her ease to access her abilities on what to water refers.

More than likely, this also will shape HOW she access and uses the other aspects gained, specially in what to their synergy as components of a greater domain, namely Sea, Storms and Climatic phenomena

The interesting factor will be namely if Endbringers CAN'T perceive Deities. Odds are that Ziz it's going to slowly go nuts as her precognition it's going whacky as she can't perceive a Deity directly or its direct influence.

In the other, methinks that if Leviathan strikes like Canon... Its going to be in deep, DEEP shit.... Considering that it's her "Seat of Power/Site of Birth" and depending on how much she advanced in her own type of hydrokinetic control, Levi may find itself in a situation where it's water control is jammed to hell and back, and without Ziz being capable of perceive Taylor....

The other interesting option would be if somehow Taylor can somehow STEAL the link from what "unknown controller" Leviathan has, and turn it into a "Servant" of hers....

In addition to the massive Brown Trousers... It would pretty much act as a MASSIVE trigger for the Faith aimed at her..... After all, a being that could not only defeat, but DOMINATE an Endbringer and control it, where countless Parahumans both Villains and Heros died against... Cannot be a mortal being... But a true Deity.....

PS... Gotta think that Inari will be a fluffier and cuter version of this.....
