Amanda once made the choice that between seeking answers from those whose power and reach exceeded hers and standing beside the people she cared for, the latter was what truly mattered. No matter how much she's changed, how much the patterns she's seen within herself signify - that truth has not changed at all.

I feel like Kicha/Entara is best saved for after we send another big ripple (which I doubt is that far off). Of the remaining options, I'm most interested in the Neras Starhome; the construction group is the next most interesting to me.

[X] Visions: Pursue the memory of the star-woven cathedral where Tahkel met you, and set you on this mission. Who waits there? What might they know, or be able to tell you?

Voting to be contrarian. :p

This is more important right now.

Across the stars we search - PoV Shipteens Travel is really boring. Don't ask me to write this.

For someone who likes to write people interacting with each other and how important that is this is a weird take. Could you clarify?

Warden once meant something. Today, we shall remind our people that we do not bend - PoV Kicha, Entara (Gysian survivor)

I'm curious how the arguments are going in this one.

Between the stars we seek - PoV Alternate Nutrient Source Advised (Neras Starhome)

We never saw enough of the Neras so more info is always welcome.

Shields to guard the homes of the oppressed - PoV Human construction group, random Group of Five system.

I want to see how the Group of Five citizens react to Humans.

Poke Mary with a stick and see what happens!

* Shields to guard the homes of the oppressed - PoV Human construction group, random Group of Five system.
* Current disposition of the FSN's FTL components, gathering for a strike on one of the outer rim naval bases - PoV Lina Sharpe

I think those two should give a good idea of how humanity is interacting with the rest of the galaxy, on both civilian and military levels. The Thera POV one would also be helpful to cover the civilian/political aspects, I just don't find it to be quite as high a priority as the construction group.

If I understand the lore correctly, what made Consolat special, was that they were inward focused srtriving to understand themselves first and foremost. I say we follow their example.

Is that figure Eliza?
I am legitimately impressed that you remember this name, despite you having only recently read through the whole series.

It has a bit more nuance to it than that, but yes. Through understanding themselves, they sought to understand the universe. And from the universe, themselves. They didn't go out to find stuff, they stayed at home and explored the marvels of reality from there.

It says something about how capable they were as a species that this worked.

Honestly either our allies in the five or humanity would be interesting. We've seen a lot of what's going on with the Shiplords, I want a glimpse of humanities side.

It says that they were a bunch of nerds that didn't understand that the best way to seek understanding is to cheat and rig the GM's dice

You don't try to chase two rabbits at the same time. And analyzing jumps can be done literally anywhere that is safer than here, if needed.

As for the sidestory, I want to see the seeds of change among the Shiplords.

I, as your QM, do not want to write a Shipteen interlude as nothing has substantially progressed in their perspective.

Missing an X in this vote, friend.

On the matter of sidestory, it appears that Shield to Guard has a solid lead in my informal count. I have a bunch of betaing to do right now, though, so I'll aim to get that sorted over the weekend around getting a Covid booster shot (that I pray doesn't make me suffer), then move onto the sidestory piece. Vote closure will likely be midweek, just for the people who I know get to this story a bit later.

With that said, current voting has once more scorned a [mystery box] type option. I probably shouldn't be surprised by this, and yet I am.

Think I'd lean towards the Neras or the Gysian PoV.

I mean, you're not wrong. It still confuses me to see such summary rejection 😅
For me it comes down to we are taking this significant risk for a specific purpose, and the mystery box has a decent chance of not advancing that purpose. If it gave us something equally usable to stop the war before it escalates it would be worth it, but given our last encounter with the uninvolved we have no reason to believe the mystery box can give us an answer that will distract the shiplords for the next few ten thousand years, while anything that can assist with figuring out what really happened with the Consolat can help with that goal.

Mystery box probably can help us win the war, but we don't really want there to be a true war at all!

Thank you for being the one to finally explain the difference between geek and nerd to me. So that movie should have been called Revenge of the Geeks then. Good to know.
