I've figured out how we can crack this place wiiiide open: all we need to do is have Amanda Speak " Password" and "Password1234"

Then we use the resulting super-user admin rights over the Secrets to win everything forever

Don't be silly; the Consolat would never secure their secrets with such simple passwords.

They'd use the Head Admin's birthday. This is actually harder to crack than it sounds, since the calendar system the Consolat used involved notation of the position of the stars, some of which aren't there anymore.

Depending on how conceptual Speaking really is, that still might get caught by invoking the underlying concept of "security vulnerabilities introduced by user stupidity and laziness"

Silly question, does assigning Mary to an action use up the research AP? It says it has to be used on the research action list, but that might be double dipping.

[X] Plan Development
Exploration - Direct exploration of the Origin system, based on The Adamant's location in-system. The Adamant is currently in shuttle range of the Consolat homeworld, hidden in the mass shadow of a near-world asteroid.
-[X] Quarters - Send or lead a team to investigate one of the four points of interest on the planet below. You must specify which characters are sent to which location.
--[X] Crumbling Halls - A sprawling and mildly overgrown university complex, settled a comfortable distance from any Consolat cities. Computer systems show atypical damage. No other data. [Mary and at least one Mender recommended]

Investigation - At-a-distance exploration of the Origin system. Generally not location dependent.

-[X] Heart's Caution - Vega has found a way to invert the techniques that first brought her to your attention. Teaching this to the Harmonic Choir would require more work refining the technique, but she could pass it onto you and the rest of the Heartcircle. [Requires Vega]
-[X] You still have very little knowledge of who the Consolat really were. Delve into the functional history and culture repositories of the Consolat Archive, so that you might understand.

Research - Theoretical examination of not just factors present here in the Origin, but far beyond. Your Research AP must be assigned to one of these tasks, but additional AP may also be used.

-[X] Underpinned - With a solid proof now in hand of who created the Secrets, Mary wants to continue her work on understanding how the Consolat actually did it. This could well prove crucial in the weeks to come. [+129 rollover to second stage research]

*New* Development - Deployment and expansion of current Trailblazer-package outposts. May prove vital for certain tasks going forward, depending on requirements. These actions will deplete the Adamant's mass bunker, which is currently at 70 + 5 = 75% as a result of passive harvesting.
-[X] Blazing a Trail - Establish a Trailblazer-package outpost at one of several landing points on the planet, allowing for longer term habitation and direct access to the planet's major interest points.
--[X] Outline location and type of outpost here. See sidebar.
-[X] Level Terrain - The Trailblazer Seeds were, by nature, modular. Expand your current Trailblazer outpost to support further systems. Will open a subvote.
-[X] Magi Link - Construct and lay a hardlink from the Magi to the Consolat Archive, allowing for easier access to the data and potentially opening up new actions.

Personal Actions

-[X] Dedicate personal time to learn the Restraint techniques pioneered by Vega.
-[X] Go for a walk through the city of the Spire. It won't be going inside, but maybe it will help you understand the depth of power resonating from the place.

It doesn't, you're fine.

So, the formatting on this is badly off, and you're missing several points where I need specific direction.

The plan should look like this, but with the Xs filled in:

[] Plan Development
-[] Quarters - Send or lead a team to investigate one of the four points of interest on the planet below. You must specify which characters are sent to which location.
--[] Crumbling Halls - A sprawling and mildly overgrown university complex, settled a comfortable distance from any Consolat cities. Computer systems show atypical damage. No other data. [Mary and at least one Mender recommended] <- Specify the other Mender if you want to control that.
-[] Heart's Caution - Vega has found a way to invert the techniques that first brought her to your attention. Teaching this to the Harmonic Choir would require more work refining the technique, but she could pass it onto you and the rest of the Heartcircle. [Requires Vega]

As it currently stands, I'm pretty sure it will not be gathered properly by the vote software.

I...also confess some concern over the lack of interaction here. Is the vote just not interesting? Would people prefer that I just choose wherever you go? I understand that it's been less than 24 hours since the post was made, but even comparing that against last turn this feels dire. And I can't help but worry when that happens, as without some level of voter interaction I can't write anything. This isn't a user fiction piece, it's a quest, and without engagement those die.

At least for me, it's that coming up with a plan for a vote like this is intimidating. Once there are plans I can compare and contrast, but making one...not my strong suit.

But maybe I can at least get a conversation started and help someone else come up with a plan?
For exploration I'm not sure how to prioritize between the Halls and Evergreens. Definitely not time for the Spire yet, I think
In investigation I like the new option, understanding the Consolat better may help in surprising ways with everything else, including how to prioritize other actions perhaps. Between the two I'd choose Matrix Webs over Breach at Midnight for Iris, we've been good about staying under the radar and it doesn't seem worth it to poke the bear.
Research I'm not sure about, but we do have a bunch of rollover xp for Underpinned
In Development, the Magi link looks promising. Depending on the options Level Terrain might open some things up as well.
And for Personal, my first thoughts are spending time with family, and walking through the city.

You do get that the same creative juices that get people to create votes are also in use when working on the current Summerfest? Give people a day or two to get the shock to the system that is the current site event out of them and you will have your vote.

Yeah, I'mma second that thought. I read it yesterday then wandered off to think about it and see what other people came up with in the meantime. I tend to do much better with votes about philosophy, tactics, or personal matters than I do the nitty-gritty of resource management; it just doesn't cause my imagination to spark. My contribution is basically as follows.

The Immaculate Evergreens option interests me because A: it's intact, and B: it dates to a very useful time period that increases our odds of comprehending how Practice was developed. That's some juicy stuff there.

The Underpinned research option seems like the way to go because this is surely the time and place to be digging into those fundamentals. We have as much information as we'll ever have about it here.

As to the personal actions, I favor learning Vega's technique and spending time with the folks. Seems a good balance of self improvement and mellowing out.

I've been a bit scatterbrained recently, but here's a plan. It's definitely not in a crate full of face-seeking cream pies*. I have a signed affidavit from Iris that says so. (And it mentions snowballs, too, for some strange reason...) :D

[X] Plan Halfsies
-[X] Quarters - Send or lead a team to investigate one of the four points of interest on the planet below. You must specify which characters are sent to which location.
--[X] Immaculate Evergreens - An enormous computer in the form of a forest, located in the outskirts of one of the Consolat's cities. The interface, apparently, requires proof of understanding to grant access. [Iris, Elil]
--[X] Crumbling Halls - A sprawling and mildly overgrown university complex, settled a comfortable distance from any Consolat cities. Computer systems show atypical damage. No other data. [Mary, Amanda]
-[X] Heart's Caution - Vega has found a way to invert the techniques that first brought her to your attention. Teaching this to the Harmonic Choir would require more work refining the technique, but she could pass it onto you and the rest of the Heartcircle. [Vega]
-[X] You still have very little knowledge of who the Consolat really were. Delve into the functional history and culture repositories of the Consolat Archive, so that you might understand.
-[X] Underpinned - With a solid proof now in hand of who created the Secrets, Mary wants to continue her work on understanding how the Consolat actually did it. This could well prove crucial in the weeks to come. [+129 rollover to second stage research]
-[X] Practised Restraint - Vega was able to find a way to an understanding of Practiced Miracles that allowed her to trigger them with a level of regularity that was a little intimidating. She's offered to try and see if she can reverse the process. Not something you ever thought you'd need before now, but it should be possible. [+4 rollover to second stage research]
-[X] Magi Link - Construct and lay a hardlink from the Magi to the Consolat Archive, allowing for easier access to the data and potentially opening up new actions.
-[X] Relax and train with your Heartcircle. Keeping your edge in combat sharp is more important now than it ever was. And it's good to share time together.
-[X] Dedicate personal time to learn the Restraint techniques pioneered by Vega.

*I make no guarantees about the box not being booby-trapped with water balloons, though.

Mine is more research, exploration, and hanging out with the Heartcircle rather than family, rather than building more facilities both at the current location and a new one (which is not specified, so it's not currently really a valid plan.)

Gonna have to admit, I loved the update but yesterday I was busy and a bit frazzled and today I am absolutely burnt out. So I'm not even feeling up to voting, let alone thinking about a plan. I'll hopefully be feeling better tomorrow or the day after and can actually do something.

Alrighty. Would love to see a few more votes on this, but I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. Thank you, though. I'll look to call this in the next day or two.

Also I got dragged into a thing. It's entirely the fault of @Baughn and @Pyro Hawk. That is all :V

I have to confess that I'm finding it hard enough to keep track of what's going on in that crossover that it's getting a bit inaccessible, even when starting with familiarity with one or two of the origin stories.

As far as planning goes, the final section of the first episode should hopefully fix some of this. I can see the issue, though, and I think it would be appreciated by all if you'd put something similar in the thread for it. I'll pass it on regardless, but being seen there can mean more.

[X] Plan Halfsies

Yeah sure. This is good enough for me.

I can support a plan that includes Immaculate Evergreens, Magi Link, and browsing the cultural Archive, so:

[x] Plan Halfsies

works for me. That said, I would like to see a Potential assigned to go with Iris for Immaculate Evergreens, ideally Elil but perhaps Lea.
