Ship repair I'd a Stratagem so I doubt we can do that as an order.
as far as i understand it the stratagem is proper repairs while, what i want is just get the ship fixed regardless of long term consequences, something that'll be rendered moot with it having to go to dock to repair anyway

if people don't like plan: off with her head i do have an alternative plan

[ ] plan: operation guillotine (plan withdrawn)
-[ ] [Unit] 1st Andernian Guard (97%)
--Current Position: Andernia III, Bastion: continue operations.

-[ ] [Unit] 2nd Andernian Guard (100%)
--Current Position: Andernia III, Bastion: continue operations.

-[ ] [Unit] HMS Wisteria (100%)
--Current Position: Andernia III, Orbit
---New Destination: Andernia III, bastion

-[ ] [Unit] HMS Callerya
(23%)
--Current Position: Andernia III, Orbit
---New Destination: Andernia III, High Orbit (out of range of fighters but still in orbit, think the moons orbit around earth).
----Special Orders: begin emergency repairs, don't worry about the long term, we'll fix the ship proper later.

-[ ] [Unit] Spies on Andernia III
--Primary: incite rebellion against our sister.
---Secondary: Find Radana, Camellia Knight and supply her location to rescue units.

not the biggest change i know but there no point in moving our ground troops and the only thing they might need is extra air cover hence why i'm moving the HMS wisteria to support our ground troops against fighters. of cause our sister could use this as a chance to flee should the destroyer signature be real, cause i don't think the HMS callerya stands a chance against a fresh destroyer

Ships in orbit can't intercept air wings. At least not if the airwings remain planetside. I am worried she's going to try and escape on the colony ships, since she is able to turn the beacon back on, so I want to cut that off. Its also a chance to damage her air wings even more.

I appreciate the enthusiasm and energy, but I'm afraid I can't accept these plans and special orders. Think about it this way, if your side starts micromanaging every little aspect to gain an advantage outside what the system could normally support, then I have to let the other side do so as well for fairness. It'll likely just devolve into a very heated war of detail obsession, and that's just not the sort of thing I don't think is very fun mechanically.

I should ask Celeshiro, do we have a rough idea on how many civilian casualties we could expect from bombing D4? Both sat and tac? Also would sat bombing be considered a warcrime? Or is that only over cities?

For regular tiles that don't have significant civilian populations, there's much lower chances for collateral civilian casualties. Tactical will almost never (a flat 1/100), while saturation does have a very small chance (rolling doubles). In comparison, doing it to cities is increased for tactical (rolling doubles) and saturation is guaranteed.

By the by, tactical bombardment gives you one flat attack from the ordered ship, while saturation bombardment lets you roll two attacks. So definitely more potential for damage with saturation, but a greater risk. Up to you to decide if it's worth it.

while not relevant to our current situation, celeshiro, berths for ships? can they be shared by multiple ships or is it, one berth=one ship?

my thought behind the question is that one berth could technically be shared by two ships, while the first ship is out on patrol the second ship is in berth, and when the first ship comes back they just switch.

may i suggest using both ship to saturate bombard?
Only one ship can bomb a tile at a time due to factors such as orbital alignment and planetary rotation (also balance to not just full nuke tiles immediately with large fleets. Bit too anticlimactic for a defending army to immediately lose to that, draw it out like a siege).

Think of it as more like unit caps because it's where ships and other units will rest and base at when not at war. If you happen to have more than what you can support, you won't be able to supply enough for all your professional forces.

since both ship would have to be in orbit for that, giving them relative safety.
The Callerya is at 23%. I do not believe it is worth risking the lives of her crew when the enemy squadrons are already badly damaged. Plus she may be able to return next subcycle with some repairs and Militia reinforcements. Probably another destroyer.

Also, as far as we know ships can only be in orbit. The colony ships are because those are crashed ships that are being repaired. Being in orbit is not any safer Im afraid - it is entirely within the range of enemy airwings.
I would be surprised if they have any sorties this turn anyways because they had to rebase. If they do have sorties I would also expect them to use them in Bastion since that has much more of an effect on the war at this time. If we can seize Bastion, and deny them the ability to take any of our cities, then we have eliminated all of their bases. They might keep fighting but, as far as we know, they won't have anywhere to do it from.

Do more weapons on a ship increase the chance of civilian casualties or is there just pure advantage to using weapons with more attacks in a bombardment role because its more of a question of targeting than volume of fire? E.g. light cruisers.

They do not, only the strongest weapon (if applicable) In fact, it's one of those situations where having more ships to cover more of the planet could arguably be more beneficial than the quality of said ships. You could say that this is the strength of destroyers with their numbers.

[X] Plan Initiate Bombardment

I want that air wing gone, both for strategic and revenge reasons.
Also not comfortable with a decapitation strike RP-wise, since Violet is still under the delusion that she can right the current misunderstanding and give the power back to her sister according to keikaku.

the mood struck me, sorry in advance for the shitty writing. if you find any mistakes I'd like to know

THE BURDEN OF COMMAND: Duty before glory
Captain (Lt Cdr) Sif Gudmundsdottir looked at the bridge crew, "her crew" she quietly thought, as they milled about going from one station to another, taking stock of the ship, "her ship" the previous thought continued. never in her life had she thought her first command would begin like this, fighting in a civil war, between her own people no less. "how did it come to this?" she thought, "did you say something Captain?" her XO intoned, his deep voice sending shivers down her spine. "ah sorry no, lieutenant , merely pondering the past", she turned to look at him, once more feeling like the universe was conspiring against her. "First the war, now this hunk of prime meat she was barley allowed to look at!" Sif thought as she glanced at the ever-expansive chest, that made even her tits-McGee of a communications officer feel insecure. At least that's what Abigal said at their celebration of getting the same ships-posting. sif stooped for to contemplate the irony of a com-officer disliking gossip, but likeing to keep secrets...

"sir, incoming orders from high-command" said officer announced

Sif sighed, while the initial battle had her almost faint from fear alone, the time after had been calm, which in and of itself was fine but it had been two hours of nothing but the occasional report of a sub-system of a sub-system of a sub-system being repaired. she swore one of the reports was on a themo-regulator for a computer that controlled a themo-regulator for some other piece of equipment that also...she was going on in a tangent Sif realized

"put it though"
the screen in front and to the side of showed an image of a woman.
it was her princess.
"your majesty!!" Sif shot up from her seat, finally some action!.

"Greetings captain, hope you are well. we are reason to believe that the enemy have hidden troops at sector D4, therefore" this was it, she was going to be ordered to break orbit and tumble down, crashing against the enemy like an angry god, blasting away all who opposed her, ridding her majesty of a thorn in her side. "...you are to bombard the sector from orbit". the screen shut of immediately after.

of cause, she was to stay in orbit. what was she thinking! this wasn't like one of those movies, her father showed her as child, where ships would fire at each other at knife-fighting distance.

Sif turned towards her annoyingly-handsome First lieutenant "lieutenant Braveheart, rig the ship for bombardment"

as Sif heard her First lieutenant give out her order, she sat down on her captains chair, wondering is she could figure out some excuse to retreat to her Captains quarter. she needed a beer

and second one just cause

THE BURDEN OF COMMAND: Death before dishonor
Captain (Cdr) Peter Rasmussen of the 'HMS Callerya' was a rare thing in the helmsman navy, not a knight nor from any military family, in fact his parents where mere menials. nonetheless he had climbed his though the ranks, even making it to rear admiral, before he retired. when he saw what princesses [placeholder] did to her people, he had requested his rank back, though the fledgling navy was too small for his previous rank, he was still accepted. he had declined becoming the captain of the HMS Wisteria, content to wait for the next available ship.
Currently he was wearing his space-combat-suit looking at his XO, who was doing an amazing imitation of minced meat. he turned to look at his acting first lieutenant
"first lieutenant" he began, "why has this not been cleaned up?"
"must have been forgotten sir"
"forgotten?"
"ehh, yes sir in t-the clean up sir"
"i'm going for a walk, first lieutenant once i come back, i expect this to be gone"
"yes sir, of cause sir"

Captain Rasmussen as walked he made a mental note to reprimand the crew for saluting him. they where after all at Condition One, and as such should ignore him and continure their work, unless adressed. but for now he ignored it, the crew nedded the morale boost after the beating they've taken. he was shaken out his thougths by the unmistakable voice and accent of his chef engineer, who was somehow also the only one onboard beside himself who had combat experince
"ah capitain, just the man i was hoping to see"
"
have you done what as i asked"
"yes my capitain, a single push of buttun and the reactor will overload"
"good, and the escape pods?"
"all pods have been reapired, just as orderd... my capitain, i feel it is my duty to ask...the escape pod i understand, but the reactor? that i do not"
"do you know the poem 'a knights duty"
"some of it yes"
"what about the final line?"
"i must confess i do not"
"death before dishonor"
"i do not understand my capitain, what has that to do with this?"
for a moment the captains eyes grow old and weary, filled with memories of loved ones lost
"i hope that you never will"
