The Long Night Part Three: Bonfire at Dawn (45k)

Voting is open
I honestly like the dead-drop plan; it feels very Tzeentchian.

That said, my own plan is simple: Find out what his second-favorite shrine is. Pay token amounts to eight shrines, in exchange for them keeping an object apiece in an unobtrusive corner of the shrine for a few months. No item is expensive, no item is dangerous, and each item seems significant, but each in a different way. Make sure the rock goes to the second-favorite shrine.

If anyone asks, "Why eight?" Then laugh at their folly in missing the point (e.g. imply there were nine).

If asked, "Who are you signaling?" Then obviously we answer some variant on "Wouldn't you like to know."

When ninety days are up, retrieve the items.

Just enough layers of misdirection to leave people scratching their heads and inventing all sorts of plausible theories as to the true goal, but not a lot that should be able to go wrong.

Interesting idea, how do you reckon they get it back?

I have a question about the Warproot: Power Boost.

how will it interact with ridcully as if I remember correctly he was originally a powerfull delta.
Will he gain 0.5 ever time he use it using the base then multiplying it with the archetype or not?

Interesting idea, how do you reckon they get it back?
...Right. Tzeentch. There isn't a "worship service" every nine days or anything, so no good way to have our paid people 'accidentally' wind up relatively close to a target.

...Hmm. I think I can still salvage this. Will edit.

Edit: Edited.

By Whose Authority: Dead Drops and Telglutch
Dead drops are a time honored technique of spies of all stripes, of leaving important items or information in unmarked locations. You identify one of the shrines to Tzeentch that Hobera frequents. Getting close to him is something you must consider dangerous until you can clear him. So, you have the Ghost Legion start spreading semi-pointless dead drops around the Shrine of the Shrouded Shapeshifter. In each one is an item and a ciphered letter. Decoding the letters will implicate the priests in a saucy scandal of them plotting decadent and depraved acts with a secret Slaanshi who only pretends to be a Tzeentchian. Some of the items are simple murder implements, others more mundane, and some stranger still. In truth, the Ghost Legion simply handed the clergy some samples of dead drops, and bribed them to make their own copies, with them keeping hold of the originals. It will be revealed that all these dead drops are simply an advertising campaign for a play, and that the Ghost Legion will simply ask the clergy to mail them back, as they are props to be used in the upcoming play.

The good news is that this little easter egg hunt got a bit of attention. So much so, that someone decided to steal the original dead drops you had the priests hold onto.

Trazyn is probably going to kill you, at the end of this. The Atum Dynasty are probably laughing their asses off.

Fortunately, you did have some tracking nanomachines planted on the device, that will ping when you send out a proper signal.
The bad news is, you have to be somewhat close. So, you have the Ghost Legion fan out a bit, giving field agents extra orders to look out for the signal.

It took a few days, in which you were checking your own safety Godminder every few minutes, just in case this was all Tzeentch fucking with you, but an agent was able to find the thief who stole them. They simply thought the objects were more valuable than they appeared to be. He's entirely right about one of them. Shortly after it comes to light that they are nothing but props for a play, he's willing to part with them for only a modest fee.

The Godminder was able to get a good read, in the days it was part of the dead drop. Hobera the Lucky does not appear to be a future Tzeentch, which makes things easier.

It took a fair bit of self control, but you're able to refrain from ordering the thief dead. It would have been a fair exchange, for all the stress he put you under.

~

With that misadventure out of the way, you can fully focus on less stressful matter, such as invading a Nurglite demon world.

Nurgstasch is a fairly typical world, by the standards of Nurglite demon worlds. A tropical hell, overripe with plagues, festering factories puking smoke into the sky. Temples overseeing the sacrifices of hundreds every day, on top of however many of the serfs simply drop dead.

It is not a far flung subsector of the Black Imperium that you are rapidly heading towards, but neither is it somewhere nearby anything worthy of note. Munetsi isn't fully certain of why the Hopebringers wish to fight here, but she's not going to tell the Tzeentchians how to better battle their most hated foe.

Hopebringer's fleet vs orbital defenses 31+20 vs 44

The fleet musters its rituals and assembles itself into a formation, diving into the orbital defenses. An over complicated plan, built by committee, that relies too much on psychic power that the enemy is all too accustomed to dealing with. Nevertheless, numbers and raw power prevails over the Nurglite's stead defense.

Many Tzeentchians hate Nurgle greatly, but that does not mean they're eager to be on the front lines. As a result, not many ninefolds are part of the first wave of the attack.

Munetsi diving in 50, vs 15

Shield generators boosted by Technomancy are more than enough for her to deploy quickly and aggressively in her drop pods. You have Munetsi keep you as a bodyguard, as opposed to forming a spearhead to deal with the lord. Your Chronometer is less powerful, here, but the lord of this place is not interfering with time, so it is still quite powerful.

Tzeentch vs Nurgle

32 vs 45

Munetsi 57 35 95

Jacob, rerolling the 35 to a 44+20

Munetsi was raised by Lulana and trained in dirty tricks by the Shifters. She has the power of the Orkwings, and she has sparred with Areatha. She's eager to show the galaxy what's she's made of.

Nurgle is known for blotting the sky with swarms of biting, stinging insects. Today, the only thing swarming in the sky is Munetsi's drones, in all the myriad configurations. About a third of them are flamethrowers. It's a sight to behold, really. Sherlock is an elder, and orchestrates the drones, having them expertly dodge many of the attacks headed their way. The Nurglites are not used to a great Technomancer, and it shows.

She works in concert with her drones, cutting down Nurgle's hordes. What they tear down, she repairs with ease, or simply calls in reinforcements.

But all good things must come to an end. Telglutch the Bloated, an Aspiring of Nurgle, has Munetsi in his sights, as Munetsi clears more space for the armies to land.

Tzeentch vs Nurgle

68 vs 60

Munetsi 75 75 30, rerolled to a 35+20, +10 for doubles, 65

Telglutch 40

Munetsi synchronizes, is the best way to describe it. Ninefolds have always been known for the coordination that they are capable of. Twelve minds and an AI work together, all aligned towards the same goal, of tearing apart Telglutch. While only 8 are on the battlefield, with the 9th in a command center, and the other 3 hidden with a Borderlion, they take some of Areatha's lessons to heart. Protected by the vaccines, they weave counterspelling and counterattacks together. Her drones meet Telglutch's honorguard, and slim them down to size. While you are holding the line, you do not need to push yourself, as Munetsi pushes Telglutch back.

Tzeentch vs Nurgle

17 vs 47

Munetsi 4 93 69 (device charging, cannot reroll the 4)

Telglutch 61-10

Telglutch exploiting an opening, 21, Jacob repulses with a 97

The Nurglites, infuriated by the fact that they are the ones getting outswarmed, refocus their anti-air defenses towards this sector, and drop pods and landers begin to fall out of the sky as flaming wrecks all around you. One nearly swats a Munetsi out of the sky, but her sister is able to recall her to safety before that happens. But with two of her distracted, Telglutch sees an opening, and vomits out a strike force of warriors that he was hiding in his stomach. Still, you are an Avernite, and little can catch you off guard. Not after the centuries, and not after the Caverns. It is not much work or risk to shatter the strike force's resolve.

With his trump card revealed to little effect, and his forces minnowed, Telglutch retreats, and Munetsi moves in for the AA batteries.

Tzeentch vs Nurgle

26 vs 97

Munetsi 70 62 36, 36 rerolled to an 80

Emergency assault, 66

Nurglite defense 31

With Telglutch retreating, the local AA refocuses on the incoming craft nearby Munetsi, simply to deny her the reinforcements while they still can. It does little to help, as it simply spurs Munetsi to dive into the AA batteries. A risky manuever, but one that will earn her glory.

She is not alone in her endeavors. Mallen the Cutthroat, a fellow ninefold assigned to this sector, is able to convince Munetsi not to simply destroy the batteries, as the Nurglite resistance crumbles, instead, summons more of his selves to this area, and takes over the batteries, after a rapid consecration.

Mallen expertly utilizes the AA to great effect, and manages to undercut some of the glory that Munetsi was trying to earn.

With the enemy's AA turning on their own fighters, the Tzeentchian armies have an easier time with landing reinforcements.

Tzeentch vs Nurgle

29+20 vs 26

Mallen laughs as she declares to him on the battlefield that he'll get what's coming to him in due time, but cannot afford to initiate hostilities, not while there is a war going on. Still, with the AA next starting to clear the skies, and yet more of the army being able to land, it's time to press the attack on one of the outer fortresses of Nurgstacsh.

Munetsi 13 84 30, 13 rerolled to 9?, 82 to confirm

The outer fortress

36+10 (Telglutch the Bloated)

Telglutch makes another stand here, eager for a rematch. In the interim after their first bout, Telglutch seems to have ordered some scrapcode jammers. Yet, between him personally not knowing much about how they are used (computer virus is only a metaphor), and the simple cyber security an AI who's visited the Black Library is capable of mustering, it amounts to little.

Things turn strangely, as you guide a Munetsi out of harm's way, with the Chronometer. You subtly use the battlenet to relay instincts, and the forces nearby see this as a sign that Munetsi has Tzeentch's favor? Her cultists rally at the sure sight of precognition, something that Nurgle is infamously known for countering.

Telglutch is in a hard spot now.

Tzeentchian vs Nurglites

45 vs 46

Munetsi

40 32 74

Telglutch

26-5

The battle between armies is fierce, an even match between them. It will be up to Munetsi to defeat Telglutch, to break through and seize the fortress. She relies on her momentum to keep him off balance. Telglutch is tough, but he's too used to his opponents decaying as the fight goes on. His style is sloppy, even as he knows the strategies for dealing with ninefolds. The fact that you can stall him really isn't helping matters.

Munetsi 46(rerolled to a 44+20) 52 89 vs 55 48

Telglutch knows that this fight is too important to his lord to lose, and so, spends a favor to call in some reinforcements. This forces you to dig in more than you were hoping to. Still, Munetsi weathered his onslaught, forcing him to retreat a second time.

Mallen tried to swoop in a second time, but Munetsi was prepared, proudly having her banners displayed. She is able to take full credit for taking the outer fortress, thanks in part to Mallen handling lesser matters such as the aircraft.

Munetsi, for her part, needs to rest, and reconnect with her supply chain. She has spent most of a day fighting, and using her powers. She's shown a great ability to avoid miscasting, primarily due to her nearby sisters always being ready to assist.

This operation was simply one assault, of nine. Three major assaults, and six minor ones. One other major assault and 3 minor assaults were successful, overall. Klogul, the Favored in command of this world, has called for major assistance. He taps into old favors, and is able to get another Favored to answer his call for aid, on top of the force's Nurgle would typically respond with to a Tzeentchian invasion. This war is far from over.

Day 2 was spent reloading and healing, as well as moving forces into position for the assault. Munetsi was not as able to repair her swarm as she would have liked, but she has the capacity to make due.

Tzeentch vs Nurgle 24 vs 46

The Nurglites were able to launch a raid, but the forces of this fortress were able to repel it without much issue.

Day 3 was when the war turned hot.

T vs N 97 vs 74

The general was able to pull off a massive bluff, getting Nurgle's forces to reinforce other fronts. Still, with that second Favored and the forces they brought, there is still a large force before you.

Munetsi 27 95 68

Telglutch 79, going for an opening 36

Jacob rerolls the 36 to a 92

Telglutch the Bloated seems to be the sort to keep grudges. Munetsi has forced him back twice now, and he does not wish to face his peers being defeated three times by a ninefold. He's better calibrated his scrapcode, but it avails him little. A blast powered by Destruction targets a Munetsi whose barrier was weakening, but a simple warning sent by the Battlenet 13 seconds into the past is more than enough for her and her others to prepare a massive counterspelling effort that saw it decay to nothingness.

You remember when a Third Circle once tried that on Lulana.

Munetsi sealing attempt

50 vs 51

Seeing him drained from that power, Munetsi decides that now is the best time to seal him into a specially made jar.

Telglutch seems to be prepared for these sort of sorcerous tricks, and braces his mind for this attempt.

He is caught out of position, and in a scenario where he is staggered and surrounded by enemies. It would be suspicious if you didn't do something to hurt him.

Jameson vs Telglutch, 49 vs 98

Even as he is caught up in this sealing attempt, and fights Munetsi mentally, he is still able to fend you off. The fight rages on around you.

T vs N 57 vs 57

The Nurglites adapt to the reality of Tzeentchians who are more resistant than ever to their plagues. They are evenly matched, as one of the galaxy's oldest rivalries plays out in miniature, here on this battlefield. They switch to acid bombs, to coat armies in sludge that eats through flesh and armor, while the Tzeentchians are an ever changing force that has new weapons and tactics every minute.

Sealing, 22 vs 74

Telglutch counter attacks 8

Munetsi 99+10 78 86

Telglutch 94

Telglutch will not let himself be sealed, crying out "never again" as he does so. The sealing jar shatters, and Telglutch uses his freedom to resume swinging at Munetsi. His attacks find no purchase, and they resume battling.

The Atum Dynasty is surely getting their money's worth, with this. The firstborn of a new species, sent to do spycraft against an enemy who long since considered themselves immune. On a battlefield between two evenly matched armies, doing battle against an old monster who is quickly learning new grudges. Proving herself on the field of battle, a trial by fire. You hold back on using the Chronometer, in favor of simply intercepting some of his attacks.

Munetsi is learning.

One day, she will surpass her mother, surely. Not today, but sooner than anyone is prepared to realize.

The battle rises to a fever pitch, seeing the duel between Munetsi and Telglutch.

Munetsi 11 2 9, confirmed with 74, Malice presence 28, not here,

Jacob 54, rerolled to 87+20(Device), +50 from not holding back

Telglutch 97

You knew this was going to happen, ever since you said to Keelser Soze that you would do it again. Sent back into hell with a clever disguise, you'd face an enemy that would force you to reveal some secrets. It happened in Kobas, and it happens here. Telglutch realizes with his entire being that many terrible things will happen to him, should he fail here. Munetsi, as a whole, is getting overconfident. Telglutch is able to kill two Munetsis, with a single swing of his worn butcher's cleaver.

TICK

Naturally, you won't let that happen. Immediately, you use the battlenet to order Munetsi to order you to go all out. You start tearing into him, as you feign going berserk on Telglutch, in order to avert that future you saw. You take yourself back, you with a knife in your hand, facing down the crocodile once more. You bring out your willingness to kill, to end an entire soul, and channel it into your blade, a part of you that feels more real than the powers you were given.

You end Telglutch's existence, slicing through his form.

I feel very vindicated for voting for the Chronometer now. Though it seems to have played a role in general with how well this has gone. Re-rolls are just super useful.

By Whose Authority: Showdown
You and Munetsi drilled for this scenario, of you needing to not hold back, and how to pass off the credit to her. As part of the order she gave to you, she also boosted your body and mind and sword. Less of an attempt to make you more powerful, but more of an attempt to make her look stronger and you less powerful.

You're not sure that it worked. You can almost feel the scrying eyes of the Tzeentchians upon you, as opposed to Munetsi.

Still, the secret revealed, there's little the Tzeentchians can or even would do about it now, in the midst of a war against Nurgle.

T vs N 5 vs 33-30 (dead champion)
Munetsi 54 59 78
Jacob 39 (trying to pass it off as a lucky strike)

While you were focused on the duel, it seems that most everyone else was, as well. There's a strange lull in the war. It seems that more than just the Atum Dynasty loves a spectacle. Munetsi, for her part, carries forward with the momentum she earned by true killing Telglutch.

You keep to your cover identity, and dive in with her, as a raging berserker leading the charge. You're hoping that Munetsi can take the credit. For her part, she directs her drones more towards a horde-slaying formation, trying to get you to calm down by killing the enemies before you can get to them. She subtly guides you into areas that she can quickly cull of enemies.

Eventually, there's enough clear space around you that it's justified for Jameson to calm down. Once more, Munetsi begins her assault on the enemy in earnest.

T vs N 98 59-20
Munetsi 28 10 16
Nurglites sensing an opening 80, Jacob uses the Chronometer to reroll the 10 to a 70+20

However, as she was trying to get Jameson calm, and focused more on the hordes, she is pulled out of a good position, and the Nurglites launch a strike team at an exposed Munetsi. The Tzeentchians resume their assault, and the Nurglites are sent reeling. You are able to pass a warning off to the exposed Munetsi, who can rapidly reassign her drones to protect herself. This is enough to deal with the strike team, who is forced to fall back to their gates.

This is not the only army of Tzeentch that has had a good assault. Your assault force and another's are now competing for the glory of breaching the palace, and defeating the favored who rules this land. The enemy general has to split their forces.

You can't believe your luck. It seems that Klogal is convinced that this major assault is more of a bluff than a threat. They reassign the majority of their forces to repelling the other assault, leaving only a token garrison to stand before you.

Nurglites targeting Munetsi : 82, Jacob intercepted

The Casti assault force, which you are part of, launches a full assault at the gate. Munetsi tries to break through, but you have to issue a recall order on an overeager Munetsi. She was not able to breach the walls by herself, and you were forced into the fray to protect her.

Still, the main force of the Tzeentchians are able to break through, with the major consequence being that Munetsi won't get as much credit for this part of the battle.

What follows is cleansing flames burning out the putrid slime and mold that coat every surface of the castle.

T vs N 87 vs 39-20
Munetsi 47 100 51
Nurglite defense 27

Seeing the army breach the gate has revealed to Klogal that this assault was, not in fact, a feint. Still, the reinforcements flooding in stand face to face with Munetsi, who is quite used to tunnel fighting, a Nynye specialty that she is eager to show off.

Once more, another Aspiring stands before Munetsi, who sees an opening for another sealing attempt.

Sealing 50 vs 17

He didn't even have an opportunity to announce his name and title, before Munetsi surrounded them, and sealed them in a specially warded glass jar.

That's sure to fetch a fair price, at some sort of market.

All of Munetsi become one. Alanti, counterspelling, her drone army, the sudden disappearance of an Aspiring. She recalls her ninth body to her, which manages to barter for two of the Child of Hate's plague eater swords that she has loaned to the Hopebringers. She gives one to you, and keeps another for herself. The honor guard did not stand a chance, and Munetsi breaches the throne room, and floats before the bloated mass of Klogal the Infectious.

She knows that she cannot defeat him. The Aspirings force her to her limit. But she only intends to hold out for reinforcements to flood in.

The Plague Eaters drip with corrosive power, each droplet burning through the moss covered floor, leaving it desiccated. The Nurglites have learned to fear and hate the Child of Hate, and Klogal recognizes her work.

Both sides maintain a defensive posture. Munetsi fearing the power of a favored, and Klogal being cautious in the face of the Plague Eaters.

Still, despite the mutually cautious opponents, Klogal is out of Munetsi's weight class in more ways than one. You have no choice but to intercept him.

Still, stalling him is a victory, here, as more reinforcements begin flooding in.

To protect the cornered Munetsi, you once again have her order you to attack Klogal in full. A desperate demon prince in his throne room is never going to be a clean or easy fight.

One of the plagues of Klogal got through the vaccination program of the Child of Hate. One Munetsi retreats, to get treatment, while Klogal himself begins to suffer from the Plague Eater's wound.

Munetsi leaves you behind, as the tide in the throne room turns against the Tzeentchians, as a large group of reinforcements from Klogal's ally begin to assist him.

You're more than used to being both the first man in, and the last man out. You cover her retreat, and see firsthand how the Child of Hate's work begins to eat away at Klogal's limbs.

What you were not expecting was Klogal to suddenly call upon Destruction, and strike straight through the wall that Munetsi thought would cover her. With the Chronometer still charging, Munetsi gains a flash of insight, and narrowly dodges the blast.

You make your own exit, now that the assault on the throne room is stalled.

Still, given that Munetsi sealed an Aspiring of Nurgle, and then faced down a Favored of Nurgle in his own throne room, and suffered only a single plague as a major consequence (on top of having the shit kicked out of her, anyway), you reckon she's earned a fair amount of respect from her peers, even if her assault on the throne room didn't succeed.

Munetsi can tend to her own wounds, but this battle will likely be over before she can rejoin it, so all that you need to do is watch over her, as a resentful bodyguard.

~

Munetsi was one of the first wave to assault Nurgstacsh. While some of the credit was stolen from her, as Mallen the Cutthroat took over an AA battery, she made herself the frontline most of the way to the throne room. She was seen duelling Telglutch, and can take credit for establishing precognitive dominance over him, to the point that she suffered no injuries to her persons. While others in the army can take credit for taking over the gate, she promptly reestablished herself as the spearhead, sealed away an Aspiring, and then lead the assault into the throne room of a Favored. This forced Klogal to recall a significant amount of forces away from the other attacking force. While Munetsi was repelled, she was able to infect him with the Plague Eater.

The assault is still ongoing.

T vs N 32 vs 49
The other assault vs Klogal 6 vs 19-10

Both sides stall. Klogal is still suffering from the Plague Eater, and attrition is not in their favor. However, the other assault fails to do much to affect the battle.

Day 4
T vs N 20 69 50 vs 60 1 82

The battle on Nurgstacsh changes by the hour. While the Tzeentchians are able to make a great breakthrough, they lose ground in other areas, leading to what is effectively a similar status quo.

Munetsi spends her time healing herself, and is able to barter for priority treatment for cures from the Child of Hate.

She also attempts to sell the Aspiring in a jar. She causes a minor scandal from not binding it herself, but nothing that she can't brush off. She is able to sell it to a sorcerer for a significant amount of promises for information and support that will be more useful once she heads into the Principalities of Change.

The assault upon this world is in danger of becoming a stalemate.

With Munetsi having used her one and only divine guidance from Ridcully, it is dangerous for her to continue. However, it is not a mission failure to lose several Munetsis. That's what the three spares are for.

You need to make a choice.

-[] Reveal your strength, and face Klogal head on
-[] Hold back, have Munetsi go after more achievable goals, such as trying to seal away more Aspiring, or otherwise free up more forces to deal with the Favored.

We don't care about really winning here, and tipping our hand more than we already have would likely cripple us in the long run. Better to take a smaller income of more reliable glory than go for a big-shot deal now and lose the actual op.
We already learned that gambling sucks.

Stunt: With her Technomancy, Munetsi could survey the vicinity remarkably effectively, as well as shred enemy mooks. With this knowledge, she would find every Aspiring in the vicinity. And then, she would trap them between an angry bodyguard an a powerful 'Ninefold.' And then she would sell them.

we got them into the throne room, if they fumble it here we are not going to look bad.

I'm indifferent so I'm not voting; but I wanna point out that holding back is not very ambitious which might be sus to our tzeetchian "allies".

It's 'Jameson' holding back, not Munetsi. We specifically want to avoid Jameson's reputation getting too far ahead of Munetsi's so as to avoid too many plots to steal him.
yeah, but if Jameson holds back; its not viable for Munetsi to push as hard--hense the alternative option is for Munetsi being relatively safe/certain...

which is not very ambitious.

Nurglites are ready to jam divination of all stripes. They are less adapted to skilled Technomancers. Eventually, she finds a target that she feels she can lead an assault against.

T vs N 62 vs 16

She enshrouds herself with her cult, using illusions to appear at the center of it, as she scatters herself, lying in wait for the hunt. Her army closes in, and with the weapons and armor they were granted, are more than able to deal with the Nurglings and other lesser demons the Aspiring was commanding.

Munetsi Sealing 72 vs 22

Gug positions himself as the enemy champion. Munetsi's cultists begin to close in on her prey. They are enough to lock him down for a critical moment. Munetsi ambushes Gug. He's too used for Tzeentchian tricks, and focuses down on a single Munetsi, who find herself overwhelm- Tick

Who was simply laying an ambush for him, using drones as a meat shield. Using an opening, Munetsi begins another sealing operation.

Round 2
T vs N 58 vs 57
Munetsi sealing 96 vs 48, locked, 78 and 83 for dealing with any opportunists.

Gug's honor guard stalls, seeing their champion get locked into a jar. Munetsi deftly fends off any would-be rescuers, and the rabble is dispersed in short order, now that the Gug is secure.

Day 6, the main attack
T vs N 26 vs 85

Munetsi, looking for more prey 28, 14, 59

Klogal rallies his forces, and manages to resecure his tropical palace. Unless the Tzeentchians can break into it again, most likely, they will settle for sabotaging everything they can, or do other opportunistic raiding like Munetsi is.
Her network is less able to find an Aspiring to attack. Still, there is a target. So long as her cultists could defeat the army she might have an opening.

T vs N 17 vs 82
Counterattack

Munetsi has made a name for herself. One Ulmagstig Rustheart has her in his sights, and manages to inflict severe casualties on her cultists. While a renewable resource, this affront is one that she must handle herself.

Munetsi 37 30 18
Ulmagstig 93, going for an opening! 11, Malal not present
Jameson 53

Decay does not only apply to organics. It can apply to metal and machines just as well. Ulmagstig Rustheart proves his namesake, as his power jams countless drones, rendering them unusable wrecks.

With a Munetsi vulnerable, you intercept Ulmagstig, but do not use your Chronometer. Not yet. You don't think you could prevent that rust storm power, not on a demon world.

Munetsi 19 6 46
Ulmagstig 46, going for an opening 49
Jameson 37, ticks the 6 to a 93+20
Munetsi, sealing 93 vs 47

This operation would be impossible without the gifts of the Atum Dynasty. With the power of time, you can bypass and ignore whatever divination defense Chaos cares to employ.

Without the cover of her drones, Munetsi finds herself vulnerable, bereft of her meatshields and her metalshields. She still has you, and her form is much more sturdy than it appears to be, courtesy of the blessing of the Magical Girl.

Ulmagstig is well used to the tactics of the ninefold, and employs standard tactics "disrupt, then destroy". You find yourself unable to intercept him, but use time to alter Munetsi's tactics. As Ulmagstig moves to attack the vulnerable, she braces according to your command, and her sisters quickly retaliate with another sealing attempt.

Munetsi sealing 99+10 vs 47, defending 50 39
Ulmagstig's forces 30

Munetsi is getting the hang of sealing away demons. A lesser used alternative to banishment or binding. Sorcerers would rather bind a demon than anything else, but Munetsi is not cleared to do any binding. Sealing is one form of attack demons are less used towards.
Ulmagstig's forces attempt to push through yours and Munetsi's defensive formation, as two of her complete the seal. They cannot break through, but you are without a proper army, or assembly of drones.

Mallen the Cutthroat makes another appearance, bearing a new set of warded robes. He decides to repay Munetsi "for the confusion regarding the AA incident from earlier", and uses his forces to secure an opening for you.

He also takes the time to steal some of the wreckage of the drones, likely in an attempt to steal information from Munetsi. Good luck with that.

Day 7

T vs N 99+10 vs 21+10

Seven is sacred to Nurgle. On the seventh day, Klogal calls out to his god, to boast of seven days of stagnant defiance.

The Hopebringers use his grandstanding to stage an assassination attempt.
Assassins vs Klogal 65 vs 52

They've managed to wound him yet again with a Plague Eater. Not severely enough to secure the kill.

Munetsi must use two days to rearm from the damage Ulmagstig caused.

Day 8
T vs N 7 vs 77

The world of Nugstasch has lasted over seven days of a vicious assault from the Hopebringers, alongside a Tzeentchian incursion. For seven days, the Tzeentchians have been mostly immune to plague, thanks to the hand of the accursed Child of Hate. By the will of Nurgle,

THIS ENDS NOW!

Helpless Tzeentchians are beset by new plagues that the Child of Hate prepared no counter for. Globs of slime and pus rain from the sky, rejuvenating the Nurglites and cursing the Tzeentchians.

You are quite glad to be off world, as this happens.

Munetsi has spent a favor on "Knowing the Principalities"

There's somewhere around 9 to 12 demon worlds of note, in the Principalities. They are referred to as "The Nine Jewels". Essentially everyone worthy of note is going to be within the same subsector as a Jewel. The Warriors of Hope own one, and use it as a training ground, to prepare their most recent recruits to fight on a demonworld, and to provide weapons and armor.

There are three other Jewels that you can visit, that are only a short trip away.

Baza'ria, a recent acquisition (by trade, of all things), of a merchant's guild. They've yet to fully set up shop. They're preparing some sort of banishment ritual, from the sounds of things.
Mite'kans, an agri-demon world of all things. A frequent target of incursions by Nurgle. There are several hive worlds in the system. A great place to buy sacrificial slaves.

Szizkinba, a Dark Mechanicus realm. Much like the King of Knights, the master of this realm is more focused on the Great Game. There are countless prizes to be found, here. All of them tainted, of course. Do not worry about Sherlock. He is quite confident he can avoid detection, as he has algorithms forgotten by all except the Black Library.

12) Similarly, I take it bad things happen if a peak alpha + psyker tries to edge into apex. Or hell maybe a problem in general if you try to go over power categories?

and a million years to test it

10) Have we tried combining Alkahestry and Rituals? There are a lot of stories where to make a potion properly you need to do weird shit. 'Stir it in the light of a full moon', stuff along those lines
10) you have not

11) Has there been theories about how to use Alkahestry with Warproot that weren't really plausible to test since its so rare that might be more plausible now after we set up Primal farming? Feels like the Nyrne would be excited about the idea a little

17) changes in the blance of power in the various undivided realms

14) hard to say

15) Have the primarchs given any thought to the idea of promoting Emperor/Anatolian worship in their polities any thought?
(The idea here would be that this would funnel faith power to the Emperor/Anatolian, giving him more to work with for the Dragon War, and also humanities population growing to the point that the Anatolian becomes a Great God is a potential win condition if the Void Dragon hasn't grown way out of control by then)

1) more the latter except it was not making any before that
as it had not started and the Phionix did not have any realy narrative weight yet

a) can ebat any one of them

but his claim on it was so hard that other attempts were classifid by the warp as False Phionixes

7) If I remember correctly, it was said that if ant failed his trancended roll for creating the primarchs he would have gotten a second roll for creating Vulkan (a constant).
Would he have gotten a different learning trancendent trait and if yes would it have allowed him to repeatedly creat constants.

11) we have a idea of how Many battles Rotbart has been fighting?
11) near constant

12) Has Avernus managed to grab a gene sample of the Void Beacon yet?
12) yes

13) I just had a thought. Does the Warp, basically, have a rule that is 'no take backsies'? That is, things can happen to the warp, but things cannot 'unhappen' as far as the warp in concerned. Killing someone and then bringing them back to life are two events, not a cancelling out of the former. You can keep adding details to a story, or even end a story, but you cannot 'unstory' a story and retgone it, not even with chronomancy (It still happened as far as the warp is concerned). I realize that a rule like this is needed to allow for the Law of Narrative, Cost and Attraction to not fall apart.
a) If so, is this the foundation of True Geomancy? Since using the conceptual basis of 'You can't retgone things' seems.. pretty tough.
13) yes
a) unknown

14) Does the Settra-expy in Stygia have a list of names long enough to start overloading the archive system used for termite inventions, similar to the termite catalog itself?

15) not notably

16) Should the Law of Cost really be understood as 'The Law of Narrative Plausibility', wherein, when you do magic, it should be believable that you can do it?
16) yes
or rather, it can be viewed in that way and its not a bad way of doing it

Hmmmmmm some stuff I'd like to clear up a bit:

1. What's the difference between a shaman, a technomancer, and a psyker who isn't either of those, under the recently defined human psyker traditions?
2. Can a technomancer or a shaman use the winds?
3. Can they use harmonics?
4. Can they use the olde disciplines we started with?
5. Can they use psy thrones?
6. What's the difference between a technomancer and using a psy throne?
7. Is a psy-knight pilot automatically a technomancer or is that something else?
8. Do we use null rods?
9. Does anyone in the trust?
10. Does anyone remember how to make them?
11. Could we use them as spider traps?
12. What's holding us back on magic/psychic titans?
13. Do we need a different name for it after Big E's whole mess with the psy-titans?
14. Does Niflheim field blank knights that use ka-enhancement to achieve similar results as our psy-knights?
15. Do they field enhanced titans?
