In the final months of the year, a single UFO is spotted and intercepted by INDEX. The A-Class is swiftly engaged and destroyed by a pair of INDEX interceptors, going down without any serious difficulty.
In other news, various nations across the world have expressed an interest in the
Defender Jet-Interceptor that INDEX is about to put into production. While there is a lot of confidence in INDEX's ability to handle the alien invasion so far, many countries are eager to establish their own ability to counter the alien UFOs with the new INDEX interceptor being viewed as a solid method of achieving this.
By licensing out the
Defender Jet-Interceptor, INDEX can gain additional funding outside of what it is provided by the INDEX Council. While this might normally be a concern for the council members, enough of them are interested in acquiring the
Defender Jet-Interceptor for themselves that they are willing to overlook this.
Additionally, there is the possibility of INDEX outsourcing the production of the
Defender Jet-Interceptor regardless of whether or not it is licensed out. Rather than taking the time and effort to create its own in-house factories, INDEX could pay one or more organisations to produce the
Defender Jet-Interceptor for its forces.

[-] Delta Base (Stage 3)
Located in the Scottish Highlands, Delta Base will be the centre of INDEX operations in Europe. Located in his home country, the Director has indicated that he intends for Delta Base to be the unofficial primary HQ for INDEX.
(166/200, 10 Resources per Die) (+5 Basing, +1 to Administration Dice, +1 to all Dice)
Work continues on the third expansion of Delta Base as more structures are built both above the surface and under it. Substantial progress is made with the physical room of the structures being cleared out and now only outfitting them with the equipment required for INDEX usage remains. Once the rooms are outfitted, the next stage of the Delta Base will be complete and the facilities will see a meaningful improvement to INDEX's operations.
[-] Enigma Site (Stage 3)
While INDEX has laid claim to the crashed UFO in the Antarctic, it still needs to make use of it. With the lack of local facilities, INDEX will need to build some of its own and given the potential treasure trove of the ship, Director Ambrosius wants his organisation to get started on it sooner rather than later.
(155/300, 10 Resources per Die) (+1 PS) (+1 to Research Dice) (High Priority)
With the exterior base fully finished, the next stage of Enigma Site is expanding its operations into the crashed UFOs. During the final months of the year, INDEX identifies various safe entry points into the UFO for regular usage and before beginning to locate suitable locations for new sections of the INDEX research base to be set up inside the hull.
[-] Stockpile Medical Supplies (Phase 1)
Purchase or otherwise acquire additional medical supplies to be used by INDEX. While INDEX is not currently suffering a shortage, the relatively calm may be a good point to stockpile for future emergencies.
(329/100, 5 Resources per Die) (229/100) (129/100) (29/100) (+2 Medical)
To make up for the lacklustre results in acquiring a stockpile of medical supplies throughout the rest of the year, INDEX has invested a substantial amount of resources in building up its reserves of medical supplies. Thanks to the heavy investment, INDEX is able to establish a substantial stockpile of medical supplies in both its bases and warehouses across the countries of the INDEX Council.
[-] Stockpile Basic Supplies (Phase 2)
Purchase or otherwise acquire additional basic necessaries to be used by INDEX on a day to day basis. While INDEX is not currently suffering a shortage, the relatively calm may be a good point to stockpile for future emergencies.
(195/100, 5 Resources per Die) (95/100) (+2 Supplies)
In addition to medical supplies, INDEX continues to expand its stockpile of basic supplies, more than doubling it and coming close to tripling it by the end of the year.
[-] PR Campaigns
To help improve its public image and drum up more support for its operations, INDEX will engage in public relations campaigns.
-[-] Middle East (243/150, 10 Resources per Die) (+1 PS)
The final PR campaign of INDEX comes to a close alongside the end of the year as INDEX promotes itself in the Middle East. Between the alien attack on Mecca and INDEX's excellent track record against them, the PR efforts are a stunning success as INDEX's public relations experts built upon a well of existing goodwill.
[-] Functional Laser Weaponry
Between power and ranged concerns, functional laser weaponry is something of a pipe dream at the moment. While INDEX can investigate the possibility and fund development, your researchers warn you that it will be years before you see any return.
(227/900, 40 Resources per Die) (+1 PS)
Research into functional laser weaponry continues throughout the final months of the year. While still far from finishing the project, INDEX has been able to produce an experimental prototype that is a step in the right direction even if it is still a ways off from the desired end result. Too bulky and power-hungry, the laser weapon will go back into development and the model will exist as nothing more than a proof of concept and in the far future, a possible museum piece.
[-] Alien Power Core
Between the crashed UFO and those shot down by our interceptors, INDEX has access to several alien power sources that are used to power their UFOs. Operating using unknown materials and methods, studying them would help humanity understand how the aliens power their technology.
(122/480, 40 Resources per Die) (-3 Salvage)
With the completion of the alien autopsies, research into the alien power cores begin. Initial findings seem promising though it looks like the material and methods behind the power core will be difficult to understand and even harder to replicate, but that is nothing when it comes to the aliens and their technology.
[-] Alien Autopsy
Over the last quarter, INDEX has acquired several partially-intact alien corpses. Studying these remains and performing autopsy could increase our understanding of how the aliens function and identify some possible weaknesses to exploit.
(379/280, 40 Resources per Die) (-1 Salvage)
The analysis of the alien autopsies has been completed and the findings have been published to INDEX. The most noticeable aspect of the alien corpse is that they seem to be variants of the same species, though whether this is the result of genetic modification or divergently evolving subspecies remains unclear. What is clear is that the aliens all come from the same shared background and there seems to be some indications of either cloning or genetic engineering as some seem to be too similar to each other.
In terms of differences, the alien crew members seem to be the default with the alien ground soldiers being tougher, stronger and physically larger variants of them. Meanwhile the alien infiltrators appear to be heavily modified versions of the alien crew members with an currently undetectable core that is wrapped up in a lot of false humanity.
In related news, the Egyptian government may have covered a network of alien infiltrators in a recent anti-corruption investigation. Unfortunately, many of the suspects were able to get away and go to ground, leaving only a few individuals and corpses in government custody. While one of the corpses appears to be nonhuman, it is impossible to tell how many of the others are actually alien infiltrators with the current limitations of technology.
[-] New-Gen APC Development
INDEX's Ground Division wants a new Armoured Personnel Carrier to transport its infantry about in a timely manner. While they have been provided with plenty by the Council, the Ground Division desires one more specifically designed for their purposes.
(69/100, 20 Resources per Die)
INDEX military engineers and developers have begun work on designing a new armoured personnel carrier for INDEX to use.
[-] Signal Interceptor Development
The alien infiltrators sent off a signal before they were captured, but due to a lack of equipment, the Security Division was unable to intercept or trace it. To help prevent future situations like this, the Security Division would develop that missing equipment. Unfortunately, the lack of understanding of the alien technology will hinder this project, making it harder than it would otherwise be.
(376/500, 30 Resources per Die)
The development team has bypassed the first major hurdle of the project by successfully finding a method of identifying the alien signal. Now the signal interceptor project just needs to come up with a way of fulfilling its name by figuring out how to intercept the alien signals.
[-] Support New Council Member (Turkey)
While the INDEX Initiative was originally made up of sixteen countries, the success that INDEX has seen combined with the increased threat posed by the aliens means that more countries want in. INDEX can attempt to sponsor one of them, throwing their political weight behind the country's attempt to get into INDEX.
(176) (DC120) (-10 PS per die)
In light of Turkey's claims of having purged alien infiltrators from its government, INDEX has sponsored a call to invite the country to join the INDEX Initiative and take a place on the INDEX Council. Whilst this endeavour has cost Commander Tariq most of her political capital, it has proven successful with Turkey formally joining the INDEX Initiative in the final days of December. Between INDEX's sponsorship, its PR efforts in the Middle East and INDEX's successful track record, Turkey is one of the organisation's stronger supporters on the INDEX Council.

End of the second year and for a change, you have a vote in the results phase of the turn. Anyway, not too much to say here besides repeating stuff in the update so I'll leave elaborating on those to when someone asks about them in the thread.
Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel free to ask questions for more details and information.
