I think we've had multiple of these "never quite finished" design projects.

I feel like our "successful business owner" PC should probably be a little bit more on top of people fleecing the organization, lol
 
Quest Dropped
I have some bad news, which is that I am dropping this quest. Since about Q1 2018, it has been a chore for me to write this quest and one that I've been trying to get done in hopes that it gets enjoyable again and because I know that there are posters who enjoy this quest. Unfortunately, it has become clear to me that I am doing this quest out of a sense of obligation rather than because I want to and I've been finding myself spending more time thinking about a new quest to start than I have been on working on this quest. Because of that, I'm afraid that I'll be dropping this quest. Sorry about it.

In hindsight, I blame the fact I came into this quest without a plan. Quite literally so as I had no plan goals for this planquest at the start. Instead I had the cool idea of playing as Not!XCOM whilst dusting off one of my old settings to use. It worked for a while, but as things had gone on, the total lack of planning or background work for this quest has increasingly reared its head and the fun was slowly, but surely lost for me. I had no goal, no direction in which I was taking this quest and for that, it has suffered in my opinion. I feel that I improvised pretty well and had a fun time at the start, but now this quest has become a burden rather than a fun activity.
 
I sad that it's is dropped but I rather you enjoy making this than hating it

Well dang but if you're not having fun then definitely best to leave it. If you ever get the inspiration to come back to the setting the quest is at a perfect place to pivot to whatever you're interested in since we're nowhere near firestorms, EMP cannons, and Fusion Lances this could count as a prequel. I know my interest in Xcom comes and goes too.

Thanks for running it so far and the heads up about letting it drop.
 
It's a pity we won't get to see the negotiation options or the launch of our first ships but if writing this quest has become a chore rather then something fun then it's best to drop it now rather then make yourself unhappy trying to keep going.

Thanks for writing this @Oshha, good luck with the next quest and I hope you find the inspiration to either come back to this one or revisit the idea in some other form.
