The Galaxy is Flood, Not Food

Uh oh, I think he's making the classic mistake of thinking stronger defenses means less attention.

This could be hilarious in a "oopsie" sense.

As for Tech, maybe something akin to the Hunters (I refuse to try and spell their actual name)

Keep it simple: Flood Puppiteer.

A flood form that is basically a backpack with tentacles that can grasp, aim, and interface/infiltrate with technalogical components.

Then you take a normal flood form, the tech chunk you want to utilize, and a Puppiteer, and add the components together.

Juggernaut with a Puppiteer that has twin-linked gattling lasers? Sure, why not.

Flying Form that can latch on to larger machines and let the Puppiteer inside link up? That works.

Maybe a form that shoots Puppiteers- it lands on target, locks down enemy machines for latter utilization. Bane of the Tau and Mechanicus.

Puppiteer + jetpack setup: Jetpack augment, ready for use!

Thing could even have a hibernation mode to keep energy costs down, and it piggybacks off of normal Flood forms energy when carried. May even work as a decent land mine if someone steps on it.

Or worse, dozens of Puppiteers can link up and occupy armor like the Megalegoko (Hunters)... Or even their larger form of said Megalegoko.

Agree

Also the idea that biological is incompatible with technilogical is wrong

Whats nerves if not a type of wiring?
Arent there biological computing? (Both real life and in 40k)

Nanomachines are usually proteins and enzymes (biological) rathern
There is mix of organic/inorganic nano machines

With forerurner tech that is basically solid state and hard light clark tech it makes sense is hard to hijack using biological features

But the average 40k level of tech should definetly be hijackable

I would add the puppiteer the "technician support role",with tendrils made for linking with tech and biological nanomachinery

Helps hijacking tech

Other flood cyborg forms should very much feel like ermit crabs

The tech is a shell puppeted by the flood

Flood bioforms that been given servitor style augments?

The strogg from quake 4 is a faction based entirely sround the theme of biohorror cyborgs

SCORN is another game focused on horrible biopunk as well, from wich you can draw inspiration for that semi organic tech cyborgs

For some reason my mind keeps turning to the miraculous return from the warp of a lost space marine chapter, the suspiciously mustard coloured Fungal Defenders, named after their defeat of the blah blah fungus xenos very far back in the past so nobody can check easily.

So a regular tuesday in the Imperium of Man?

A pure tech form.
Still flood, but a horrific amalgamation of machinery, mostly advanced admech stuff like the mechadendrites.
Basically what would happen if the flood infected and converted a knight type mech.
Or a dreadnought.
I'd take some inspiration from the brass scorpions and then go into another interesting direction.
Maybe not in the direction of insects, but squid or octopus like, a gliding mass of mechadendrites, repurposing technology and spewing spores as it speeds through spaces that should be too tight for anything of its sice, held up by antigravity technology.

I wonder if maybe you could go mechanical looking, but have the actual forces be the absolutely minimal viable "soldier", just churn out endless amounts of guns and the bare minimum to get it to fire at things; b1 style stick figures, boxes with enough mechanisms to aim and move but nothing else etc.

The idea would basically be a caricature of the IG, where you get huge masses of expendable guns firing en masse for the lowest cost, then you supplement it with your artillery and more elite melee units, and it would have the side benefit passing very light scrutiny as a drone force, although that might actually be more alarming unless you can make it look admech-ey.

one of the biggest biological boons from the orkz is gonna be spores that can coalescence into colonies of mold wich then can spawn new biological forms while sucking up nutrients of the ground

the flood able to form colonies that spawn even more flood even without the mass and guidance of a proto-gravemind is a game changer it allows to deploy spores and then simply wait and let it create pure flood forms for him no matter how primitive

all those spores spread by the cultists now will become esentially FOB's (forward operating bases/outposts) from wich the vanguard of the flood can and will attack

and this ensures that no matter what the flood will win and succed,if the genestealers break the hive they will just release a barely contained terraforming charge into the atmosphere, fasto forward a decade and the planet will be covered by flood/ork colonial growths
meanwhile inside the ork gestalt as tide begins to infect orkz:

im tide,harbringer of your doom!

IM GORK!
IM MORK!
WANNA FOIGHT!

what..,hear me out!
FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!
FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!
FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!
FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!,FOIGHT!

Flood durability mitigates the biggest issue with traditional cavalry. Stick Krak launchers or Heavy Stubbers onto a 4+ leg form and you have a cost-effective option for fighting outside the hives.

Edit: Also, since Halo Wars 2 added the Infester and Seeder for infecting vehicles and flyers in one go, why not add a delivery system?
  • Use specialized artillery to yeet whole blisters full of infection forms at once.
  • Stick a jump pack or grav chute on an infester to nab hard to reach armor.
  • Pack an infested Aquila with modified seeders to capture strikecraft
  • Modify a proto-gravemind to integrate with a captured ship

A scavenger form, sort of similar to the infector pod form. It roams the field both during and after a fight, picking up technology and biomass to bring back to use later, or attaching the stuff to itself to become a proper combat unit.
Imagine seeing a comrade die in a fight, and then some sort of wolf sized blur rushes past. There are multiple feeler tentacles extending off its back, touching all the tech, corpses, anything in their range, even a few of your friends, leaving a thin coating of slime where they touch. In the few seconds that it was there one of the tendrils paused on your fallen friend's corpse, ripped his head off and pulled it back to the main body, and then it was gone. The slime it left behind started twisting and morphing the bodies faster, some of them getting up. Your commander had to ditch his helmet when the slime started trying to crawl into his breathing apparatus to get to him. Later in the fight, you're down to your last rounds of ammunition and are silently begging, praying, hoping for backup, when you see it again. It's different; bigger, slower, with several mutated limbs and body parts of various species grafted onto it. You only recognise it because of a secondary, smaller, head on it, that you realise is your friend's after it starts firing off the exact same laser eye augmentation he had. You also recognise the mortars attached to its back as having come from your regiment's mortar squad. As the monster starts bracing itself, several of its limbs and loading rounds into mortars, you realise that any reinforcements coming won't arrive in time.

Also, how about some flying units? Or some tiny units that you can use swarm tactics with that double as a quick source of biomass to patch up the wounds of your heavy hitters? Or non-combat forms meant for pure utility, like, a form that can run on train tracks that can hold a ton of extra biomass and deliver it to the frontlines? Or biomass that inserts itself into weapons and stuff and helps with the cooling mechanism to keep it running for longer and does the maintenance on the weapon.

Last thing on possible flood forms, check out the mimic aliens from the game Prey, they might give you some ideas.

Will the Tau be in this fic? They're arguably the "nicest" faction in 40k from what I know of them, but are still pretty vicious with their, "Become slaves of our empire of your own free will, or become slaves anyway after we crush all resistance." Which. Well, it's still not great, but it's a modicum better. Plus, iirc, they actually understand how their tech works! Which is pretty damn rare for 40k!

Also, what's the update schedule? I didn't realise there was one until I read the comments above this chapter.

Tau likely will show up at some point in some form or other. I intend for all factions to appear in the story (though not necessarily on Monstrum)

Updates come on mondays and fridays, only on the Cartoon Network

I really like the Goo, there should be more works with Goo SI's. As for scale, infantry to titans to void ships.

How about idea of living gun from game like 'RipOut' ?
Then there are copy I found from my draft:
+ Bioware Augmentations from this site 'Bioware Augmentations - Starfinder Third-Party Publishers' for more bio tech idea
+ 'Bio-Warrior CYOA' It even have picture and what enhancement it give and it limit, too (very detailed and advanced, help for any human who want specifit enhancement). Do beware it also show quite disturbing organ looking image, too. Here is one example for bio drone

+ 'Wetware computer' detail from this site, more tech idea in it:

Wetware computer - Wikiwand

A wetware computer is an organic computer composed of organic material "wetware" such as "living" neurons. Wetware computers composed of neurons are different t...

Probably something like Bioshock big Daddy for low cost, low-quality space marries.
Another good one could be something Xenomorph-like cause some of there forms are down right terrifying as well as effective.
A final good one to use would be a form like the thing. Where parts of the body could come off when injured and move on there own to infect more people.

Flying and burrowing modified locust-ish swarms seems like the best way to rapidly spread when stealth isn't as much of a priority. They'd rush to sources of biomass and use microscopic eggs or just flood spores through armor piercing stingers. Bonus points for leaving trails of spores from wing scales.

A few of them would be able to create an infection zone that could cover a planet like earth in a week (depending on flight speed, endurance, etc.).

Then you'd need larger or more advanced forms to get into armored or shielded bunkers and take down hard targets like power armored astartes or environments where they can't survive. Flood biology can be pretty resilient though.

Larger flying carrier forms or vehicles to distribute the insects faster and farther than they can fly is also a good idea.

As always the flood's abilities to adapt biomass to its needs is one of its greatest strengths, this is just a way to get a lot of it very quickly.

Having flood forms mimic pest species to covertly spread infection is another option.
