The Galaxy is Flood, Not Food

Speaking of Warp Entities - I'm struck by the idea that to the local Deep Warp Lurker, Tide must look like a multidimensional anglerfish:
He dangles out tasty morsels (souls) to lure in snacks (lesser daemons) and even lays a false trail (focused raw emotions) to lure in satisfying meals (greater+ daemons).
The Lurker hasn't gotten any closer while keeping a watchful eye on Tide, because it can do without being nibbled on.

The Flood - if you're not freaking out extradimensional horrors, you're doing it wrong.

If Tide is an Anglerfish, the Lurker is a damned octopus. A fairly hefty chunk of the "demons" out there are corpses somehow sustained and preserved, acting as the universe's best camouflage in the warp. I would wager quite a lot of money that the Lurker is one of the Primarchs that got lost in the Warp and is observing Tide because of how out-of-the-ordinary his actions and behaviors are. Given that there doesn't seem to be a real barrier between the Warp and the Domain unless Tide is actively interposing, the Lurker can probably see and hear everything happening in there.

Honestly, how much do you want to bet when Tide finally gets in touch with the Eldar they are going to be tempted to let him work his magic since it will at least keep them from the grasp of Slanesh but ultimately refuse until a few of them are on the verge of death and call for his aid.
It depends if the Eldar are willing to swallow their pride and let Tide help them despite they see him as some eldritch entity not of 40k universe.

Eldar are like a race of Vegetas who clung on to their pride and heritage despite losing everything.

Tide with daemons: Hello, welcome to the soul shredder.
It's not surprising, really. He believes humans should have the chance to chart their own course because he believes that humans can change what they are, and are not in fact slaves to their instincts, biology, and social programming.

As far as he knows, the same is not true of daemons, which can gain knowledge but never change their fundamental nature.

He could be wrong, of course, but it's morally consistent; he doesn't give out second chances simply because second chances have intrinsic value, but because he believes in the potential of humanity. Second chances are just a way to further that.

On a practical level, he also has a good handle on what people can do and what he can intervene with if he needs to, while daemons are much more of a mystery box.

To be honest, given the amount of WMDs and what amounts to toxic waste being dumped into the warp, it's impossible to make an actual decision.

Like right now, the warp has more in common with a toxic waste dump than anything else.

Anything created from the raw warp stuff is going to be contaminated due to the warp itself being contaminated.

The War In Heaven did irreversibly transform the Realm of Souls into the Warp and created the three older Chaos Gods: Khorne, Nurgle and Tzeentch after all.

The Horus Heresy was barely a blip on the radar compared to the War In Heaven.

Mmm I wonder how would the "Unknown helper" in the Warp would react to this. If it is truly the cosmic form of tide then it would require those emotions to feed itself ( or not ?). If it only needs the reverence of tide to survive then that's just open a different box of questions entirely.

Won't be too long before tide ends up creating his own proper afterlife it seems..

The pandora box is open and more warp entities would properly be created in the tide
soon..

Once, long ago, the Warp was not always dominated by Chaos. If what little knowledge of that time I possess is true, then perhaps what you suggest could be done.

So begins the greatest detox program in the history of creation.

And of course the Ruinous Powers are going to kick and scream the entire way like the unrepentant-yet-barely-functional addicts that they are.

Currently, I don't have a particular name in mind, though I have seen a few thrown around in the comments, the predominant one being 'Joy', so maybe either that or something related to the emotion.

i would propose the name of Ashlesh. after League of Legends (HEAR ME OUT!) own demon of joy. given that league demons are also spiritual parasites that feed off of emotion and it sounds more like what you expect for a deamons true name.

I also support the previously mentioned Aha, after Honkai: star rail's aeon of Elation due to him looking and acting how i would imagine our new friend might were he to become a full on chaos god.

Edit: actually after giving it some thought if tide can forge deamons would he be able to learn/dictate their true names if he got skilled enough at it? that would open up a whole new set of possibility's.
