Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

[x] Don't destroy it. The power of the Dragon may be that of Ice, but it is unborn. Tamed, you might yet use Serwyn's power for good. Also, your blood is not just Targaryen. You are of the blood of the North. Perhaps you could ride it, or your twin brother. Or one of your future children.

Ashamed of striking his brother (or more likely fearing his wrath) he fled into the dark, and the dark took him into its bosom.
The first part of this implies that Serwyn MAY not be ENTIRELY untrustworthy. Regardless of what he's done, he is a god of Valyria, and we are of the Blood. I think this one should be ours.

No worries. You all will be choosing when Dany reaches for future knowledge after this. This forced instance was to show what can happen when you do. Even if this gets overused, it isn't insanity. Just not "good" with a capital "G".

So, basically if you choose to use future knowledge, I roll a 20. 1-5 is Evil Goddess, 15-20 is Good Goddess, and 6-14 is both, with it leaning more one or the other depending on who.

Sorceress Dany is not a Goddess and therefore can only interject at certain times. Time Magic is difficult, risky, and takes a lot of power. The Goddesses can interact more freely.

Good or Evil, Dany is both sane and loyal. The question becomes what she is willing to do, what lines she is willing to cross, to further the cause. Is she willing to go as far as a Bolton? Or not? That is what gets determined by these things.

Oh, and did I mention that 20s can be spent on those rolls to ensure the Evil Goddess doesn't show up? Or to ensure that the Evil Goddess does show up of course. Up to the user.
Well I'm glad this won't be very common and can be votes on . I suppose if earlier we had chosen to embrace her magic without concern it would happen automatically without voting? I'm glad the the thread was overwhelmingly concerned but even moreao if that's the case. I'm still concerned that a troll voter could warp Dany evily for the lulz but I think most voters are good so it's a minor concern.
I keep thinking back to the ships name, I hope you don't forget about such comedy gold. I'm grinning thinking about what you can do with that.
Looks like the cultists will take a back seat in Aegon's mind. I'm ok with that. Though I suppose we voters will have to watch our protagonist's back now that Aegon is dismissive of them

We can keep it unhatched until we find someone worthy enough to tame it.

It is foolish to destroy something with such power, even if there is risk involved.

It feels like a trap with this being the only safe option.
Hah, what a funny name for the ship. The reactions of pirates should be amusing. I suppose I could have voted for a name but I was feeling a bit discouraged about the story. The last omake was so creepy and set of alarm bells that we are going to be constantly fighting against insanity for Dany. Getting attached to the characters with that insanity guillotine hanging over their heads seems stressful instead of fun. So yeah, creepy omake scared me off. I'm still sticking around but I'm worried.

...

I guess I wrote Evil Goddess Dany a bit too well. Didn't mean to scare people off. But yeah I was originally going to make it more lighthearted. Then Luna rolled for Evil and I got inspired. Did I do a good job at capturing the feeling at least?

I guess you guys don't care much about your flagship or your cultists. Meh, oh well. At least I know how Aegon feels about them now too. I did warn you all that Aegon's persona comes from the votes. A king who cares more about his jewel pendant gift than the flagship of his navy, or his followers. That'll be interesting to write.

I thought you'd make a new official vote for the ship name. Gale did make a post, but I figured he'd pick a few names and pass them off to you.

Also The Fairhful chose their own gods right. How would this vote have affected Aegon?

A vote type deal was made by you guys. Galerius asked for suggestions, McLuvin wrote a few... Nobody voted. That's on ya'll. I originally made a "name of the ship" part of the normal vote. Nobody wrote in to keep the model Gale suggested but to change the name. You all have made "modification" write-ins before. This isn't something new.

I waited longer just to see if anyone would vote on the suggested names. No one did.

Also The Fairhful chose their own gods right. How would this vote have affected Aegon?
The faithful chose their own, but Aegon would have counseled them about the choices. As it is, he didn't really care who picked what, or if they got blessings at all. Good thing Dany is your "Queen of the People" I guess.

I don't think he's worried about the evil influence, so much as he was worried that there would be no control over it. If people vote to use future knowledge knowing the risks and shit happens, well, that's how questing works. I think he was more worried about me using QM-fiat to make the influence a big issue when it doesn't have to be.

(Not really.)

ASOIAF, like a lot of High Fantasy(if you guys even try to argue this...) runs on traditional themes of balance and harmony in the world. Yin, Yang; Fire and Ice. You can't just have fire, you must also have ice. The Others are not Ice but they are of it, in the same way that R'hllor is not fire itself, but is of it. So I don't think we have anything to fear from an ice dragon, provided we have ice, in some capacity, to control it. AKA: Us or Jon.

I'd quickly like to note that a Dragon of Ice is poetically fulfilling, given that the balance of Fire and Ice is important.

Also Aegon is the scion of Lyanna, so he has enough Ice within him to represent that balance.

Balance huh? Now I'm seeing Aegon flying an Ice Dragon, with Dany beside him on a Fire Dragon, and Viserys heading in to attack from the port with the Sea Dragon. All heading in towards King's Landing. "Why hello Robert!"

The Flight of the Dragons - Part Four
Winning Vote

Don't destroy the Ice Dragon egg. The power of the Dragon may be that of Ice, but it is unborn, innocent. Tamed, you might yet use Serwyn's power for good. Also, your blood is not just Targaryen. You are of the blood of the North. Winter is Coming are the Words of half your bloodline. The cold is a part of you. Perhaps you could ride it, or your twin brother. Or one of your future children.

The Flight of the Dragons - Part Four
Second & Third Weeks of the Sixth Month 297 AC

You restrain the urge to smash the egg before you, you can practically feel your arms shaking, trying to act against your will. Then the urge is gone, just as quickly and suddenly as it appeared. You push the thought aside and start gathering things up. The letter from your ancestor is something personal, and also the final scrolls the others were working on but are incomplete. You head back to the others and grab a bag, then head back up to the eggs. These are to be kept out of sight. No one can know what was here.

You climb onto the altar with the bag and start to leverage the eggs in one at a time. This is harder than you remember, but that isn't surprising considering that these eggs are somewhere between half again the size of the three you have at home to twice the size! You don't know if dragon eggs normally come in different sizes or if your ancestor worked some spells on these or what but... This bag is going to be heavier than the last time you had to tote around a bunch of eggs. Sliding the horn inside as well, you head back to the others. Dany has a full procession going back and forth taking out scrolls one by one. This is going to take some time.

It takes nearly the rest of the second week, and the beginning of the third to get everything loaded and out of the temple. The trip back is just as "dull" as the trip there, only the subject of your nightly discussions is different. The faithful are blessed in various ways, though they seem to have only gained a single blessing each rather than multiple from a deity, and the blessings aren't as powerful as your own. Still, you've proven your ability several times over now. When you speak, the faithful hear.

Braavos is bustling with activity when you return. While loading the ships with the scrolls, you hear that the investigation into the Sealord's death is nearly done. A new one has yet to be chosen, but the killer will be brought to justice soon if all goes well. While the city is excited, it just means that you have even less time to act. You need to move your things and get out of the city as soon as possible.

You'll have to get to the House of Black and White tonight.

When you approach the doors for the first time you understand why it is called the house of "Black and White". The doors are each of one color. You've never entered here before, and unfortunately now you don't have time to investigate as you might otherwise like. You enter and approach the nearest person asking to speak with a "priest". Shortly thereafter you are sent to a small side room to await someone. As you pass the pool, it shimmers slightly to your vision.

The room is small and unadorned. From what little you've seen of the place the Faceless Men live simple frugal lives. Either it is all a front, or the exorbitant prices they charge must go to something other than their lifestyles. You don't have much time to think on the subject however as soon an elderly man appears. "You require the services of this temple?" he asks.

You are unsure how to proceed. Most tales of assassins require double-talk, dead drops, and never quite saying what it is you are paying for nor them never quite promising to do the deed. But the Faceless Men operate a known guild, in the public eye at that. After a moment of hesitation you simply decide to come right out with it. "I need someone to replace a harbor master and provide me with either an official pass out of the city, or else order the sluice gates open as if they have checked for a pass already, so that I and my ships can leave. I need this done tomorrow night."

The mans face never changes in the slightest. "A lack of time to prepare will of course raise the difficulty, and thus the price you realize." It is more a statement than a question, and you are already committed anyway.

"Of course," you answer. There is no bargaining here, there is only a price, and it is either paid or not. You've heard that much of their reputation.

"The temple will require a donation of 300 talons, by noon tomorrow. When you arrive at the harbor that evening, simply proceed to your ships and begin to sail. The House of Black and White will take care of the rest." Having said what is required, the old man leaves the room.

'Well,' you think to yourself, 'that was... easier than expected. Though expensive. 300 talons for a harbormaster, how much for a noble or a king?'

You walk out the room and out of the building. You have a stop at the bank to make.

The next day is yet again full or rushing. You get to the bank, withdraw nearly everything except 100,000 talons for the payment of taxes on your Braavos properties and as an emergency fund should things go sour. There are lines of carts waiting to transport everything to your ship. You've hired new servants to look after your estate while you are away as Jahaelyx and Saenera do not want to risk staying in the city.

The announcement came today that Thomas Mecumber has killed the Sealord, and people are already starting to whisper that he was likely subverted by the Valyrian religion to work against the city. Saenera you discover, is pregnant, and Jahaelyx does not want to risk her or his child in a place that is already showing signs of unrest towards any who have Valyrian features. This is only further confirmed when just before dark you receive word that two of Nelaehra's shops have been burned down by rioters, and that several homes of the faithful have been attacked. Thankfully they are empty as everyone has been staying with you in the manor.

You gather the last of your things from the house, taking all six of your dragon eggs and your Valyrian Steel shield. You decided to keep it on your person rather than leave it in the ship. You've hired guards but such a thing might tempt even those screened by Boromun, and since it isn't staying in the bank anymore you'd rather keep an eye on it. Dany is wearing it and her sword, and you have your two blades. Ser Jorah, Matalarr and his men are accompanying you and the faithful to the ships. Boromun is already there getting everything ready that you might sail immediately upon arrival, and to watch that no one decides to sneak off with a cart of gold. All your ships are in one part of the harbor, with most of your wealth on the flagship.

'The Newborn' you think to yourself. 'The people at the shipyard were convinced it was a pleasure barge and decorated it accordingly.' You recall some of the more... exotic... decorations in the master suite. You don't even know what to do with some of those things, let alone know whether you would want to! 'Well, at least it is still properly armed. Nobles on their pleasure cruises still need protection after all.'

You clear your head of the distracting thoughts as pay attention to your surroundings as you hear angry voices in the night. Rioters are nearby. You and the others pull the hoods of your a little more and continue walking, hoping that they don't notice who you are in the dark as they head to their target, no doubt another empty house. You can only hope that any Valyrians in the city that you don't know will find a way to be safe. Much as you'd like to however, you can't save everyone.

The rioters pass you without care, but soon after you hear the screams of a man dying, crying for his family to flee, followed shortly after by a woman and her child as they are killed without mercy. 'Animals. These people are animals, and they call us barbarians! If this is what comes of them not being controlled, is it any wonder they were made slaves?'

Innocents are dying tonight, all because they happen to share a common heritage. Dany is crying beside you as the wailing of a baby is cut suddenly short. You wish you could do more, but all you can do is offer your arm and keep her walking. You will never forget this night you know, the night when irrational hatred and bigotry led to the deaths of your people. Partial heritage or no, these people are Valyrian and you are the last of the Dragonlords. You will never suffer this happening to your people again you swear.

Somehow you and your group manage to make it to the harbor without any trouble. You don't know if it was just luck or if the gods themselves intervened, but you give thanks anyway. Boromun looks grimly at you when he sees Dany's tear-stained face, as the sounds of flame and death can be heard echoing over the water. He looks at you and nods, and without any further instruction, he gives the call for the anchor to be raised.

The ship begins to cast-off as you and Dany retire to your room. You'll not leave this room tonight. Tonight you will comfort your betrothed as she cries for all those you could not save, the children most of all.

Hatred is an ugly thing. Even worse in times that are not... well. Humanity has ugliness, and Aegon and Daenerys have just seen it worse than they had before.

Does Aegon now want to enslave every non-Valyrian? No. It was a passing thought in the heat of the moment. But thoughts can become more than passing ones in the right circumstances. And you're going to Volantis. A place that is racist, just pro-Valyrian racist. How you vote will matter a lot in the future...

We (@HugoR and I) have just been talking with the QM about the update, given that it was our plan. Apparently, we were meant to encounter some rioters when we were fleeing.

However, the dice gods were in our favour. 15 dice were rolled, each requiring 15 or more to pass.

The lowest we got was 16.

We were so lucky.

We are so buggered next turn.
