The Amber Age: Pantheon Edition (Collaborative)

I wanted to kill him, but nooo, apparently having a sympathetic-if-slightly-megalomanical God of Kings around is more beneficial than gaining a medium-sized Legend buff.

Just go the Zeus route. You get a killer headache, but considering regular preganncy already involves a carrying parasite for roughly nine months I am not sure it's that much worse.

... The fact that the Zeus route involves us eating people is incidental to me wanting it, I promise.

So you're saying she's going to try to lick us.
SV needs a better love life:wtf:

So! Just to prod discussion again, what kind of monsters would people like to see? Yours, other people's etc. What do you think would be super entertaining to see them do? Do you want Kaiju fights? Do you want hordes of broodlings?

Ask now, in Bungie's Monster Corner! I'm here all day.

Giant death werewolves. I am sure others will have more complex ideas.

Leseee how would I aspect one of those.

Ah!

Spirit of Death

Huh. That's not all that different from Primate Murder now that I think about it.

Yeah, that could work, though they'd have to be actual Monsters to have spheres which limits the numbers. I think, need to clarify that. You could totally make a bloodline of them by spawning with a lizard and giving them Ashform. They'd be smart animals though and not sapient.

So much fun to be had with these. We will try. We will try.

Also Rashelki would be adorable.

Honestly, at this point I pretty much just want any monster. It could just be an overgrown butterfly that feeds entirely on CO2 in the atmosphere and I would vote for it.

However, if we were to make one based entirely on my delusions, I have a good idea of what I would aim for. Namely TONS OF TRAITS! Aty least ten of them, prefereably 15+, randomly generated! Who cares about carefully crafted creatures when you could instead just pour more power into your menacing monstrous megabeasts!

Classic hugger.

Suggestion for this:

1. Produce a brood.
-Pick a base animal of some sort and do it. That gives it, at least, 3 traits. The one it has to start with, one from you, one random.

2. Stockpile Ambrosia.
-A Great Beast (w/ 1 Ambrosia) has 2 traits from the parent and 2 random added to it. Do this with a brood and you have, at least 7 traits.

3. Add 4 Ambrosia (each Ambrosia adds 1 and 1).

You'll have a brood (3 traits) + baby (2 traits) + 4 Ambrosia (8 traits) = 13 traits. And that's if nothing weird happens, which is possible, given the magnitude.

You have your mission and you know how to get there. Godspeed, my starcrossed Hugger.

E:

So we're clear, this costs:

1 turn (to produce a baseline brood)
? turns (to get 16 DE)
16 DE (to convert to Ambrosia)
5 sustenance (to have the baby)

Yeeeep. It'd also be hilariously stronk because of how monster stat mechanics work, most of their scary stuff is found in their traits.

To get 10 traits you'd need to spend 4 ambrosia on one baby, and have a total of 10 traits to pull from when considering the sum of your selected traits and possible traits. I think it just costs 5 sustenance too.

15 traits is 6 ambrosia, cause they also get the main trait of whatever you boinked.

So 36 DE for a Big Scary Beast.

E: Or do it Panda's way, that's another really good way to do it.

Ah, but it just feels backwards that way. The magical lizards are supposed to descend from the giant dragon, not the other way around! Plus we spend two turns doing that, that's longer than we can expect SV to stay focused on anything (and don't try to deny it).

... Say Ari'see the 'Pure'. Didn't you say once that you had a brood running around by now? Mind of we borrow it some day? I don't mind piggybacking off other people's work if it means geting my desires through.

Together we can create a genuine beast to rival, nay, surpass the likes of Fenris and Typhon!

Just so we're clear, this is probably how it'd look:

Aspect of [Base Brood animal]
[Trait from parent: Spirit of Death, Ashform, Element Fire, or Enhancement: Inspire]
[Random Trait]

+4 Ambrosia
[Every other trait from the parent] Since it's asking for 5 traits from the parent (you only have 4, 1 is already in the baby, you're 2 short), it might upgrade 2 traits to T2 versions, or it'll add 2 more random traits.

[Add 5 to 7 random traits]

Also, one of those traits will be Spirit of Death. And guess what?

Spirit of Life or Death (dat semi-immortality yo)

Here you go, here's Rashelki 2.0

For immediate monster ideas, we can totally start off with Fire Salamanders.
Just find some local lizards and put Fire and Death into them, and let them populate the mountain.
