The Amber Age: Pantheon Edition (Collaborative)

In the beginning long before Man, the world was. Silent and empty it simply was. Then came the spirits. One for the sky's and stars, one for each mountain and river and valley, until each and every thing had its steward. Yet there were two spirits who had no domains. No earth to tend nor fire to keep.

So they went before the eldest of their kind, Seeking answers from the spirits of earth and sky.

The first amongst them asked why if every spirit had their domain, where was his? The second asked if she was to be forever the youngest of them all?

But the greater spirits said little, merely that they would see in time.

And so time passed...And one by one the great spirits fell to slumber under the weight of their dominions and the lesser spirits unto theirs.Until only the two nameless spirits remained in the world.

Scared and alone they desperately sought their purpose until one day the elder had an idea.

He would give a portion of himself to her and she would shape it within her. From this came the first animals and the elder nameless found his name. He was Life itself. The nameless spirit then decided that she would not allow their children to grow old an inert like the spirits of old. In this she found her name for she was Death.

Together they taught their children how to multiply and to remember those who came before. For generation and generation until today...

I don't know why but reading the update made me want to create a creation myth for how people might view us. Also I wanted to make Life/Death male/female because you don't often get that.
 
Moving on. Do we have any ideas for temples, architectural marvels? Like building sphinxes, or trees with multiple colored leaves that resemble an army of fireflies fighting bees?

I don't know why but reading the update made me want to create a creation myth for how people might view us. Also I wanted to make Life/Death male/female because you don't often get that.

It has potential. But having many faces is my personal preference. Many faces for many deaths....

I was thinking a vague combination (an unholy mishmash) of Dark Souls and Mesoamerica, just because we can. Heck, Rise of Legends Cuotl could be an interesting take if we go that direction.

I mean we could just be a shapeshifter and be whatever sex we want whenever we want. There have been plenty of shapeshifters in mythology. Some even with an default form of one gender who shifted to another gender and got knocked up or was knocked up. Like Loki getting knocked up and having Sleipnir when he was transformed into a Mare.

That is one of the reasons I'm admittedly for an Gender neutral or Agender god eventually. Or I suppose Genderfluid would be more appropriate. We are not locked down to anyone specific gender to reproduce with. So we won't have the problem of meeting a god/spirit of the same gender but with the perfect attributes to mix with ours and be like frig we should've gone with the other gender!

Speaking of getting knocked up, that whole shapeshifter idea plays into a plan I thought of. We could just take both our priest and his spirit wife on as OUR Wife and Husband. Go Polygamous and that's twice the children and/or monsters we can produce and with twice the variety of traits to chose from depending on who it's with. This way we're not locked into a set of traits to choose from one partner AND our pantheon will expand faster.

I hope we don't do the edge lord of death look. IT'S OVERDONE! I'd prefer DC's death of the endless, praising the living, holding onto the activities of mortals, save the environment. Be small unseen change.

Well Pom clarified in Discord that what he was doing was taking obeisance at Siah'Ah Ikki and then he went further down and told the people to kneel in the dust to him. Not a direct overtaking of you guys except by accidental residual awesome.

Mister God king is building himself up as one greater than death (I will never die). If we let him ascend with that legend, we'll spend the rest of existence under his heel because his legend is literally built on top of ours.

Death is one of our primary domains...

You used unholy. If you're talking disney's Coco style. That was creepy, unnerving, and the colors kept clashing with the color of bone. Very similar to marvel's skeleton death (shame she died), both take grotesque horror and turn it into trash. Marvel's death, turns death into a sex symbol. Coco turns death into a boston caste system theme park where people can only wait to die, or keep trying to avoid death (going against the intent of celebrating the memory of those whom built your world with you in their way).

Unholy mishmash in the same way that Warcraft's night elves have an unholy mishmash of Greek and Japanese architecture. Not literally unholy.

When there is war you must be terrible and dreadful to behold so your people look to you and see bloody wrath blazing for them and your foes see only a great reckoning of fire and ash.

Maybe talking to the spirit you share a pantheon with, who technically outranks you, is a good idea. Start with talking. Then move on to trying to figure out how to claim her as 'yours' without her destroying your shrines in a display of mild rejection.

That is a one way ticket to being seen as the guy everyone hates and lead to an massive alliance against us based on 'He's going to burn the world and I don't like that because my stuff is there.' The world destroying megalomaniac almost always gets offed by some hero or party of them. Let's not be an ass and thus put a big red target on said ass for all the other beings to band against and attack.

I said only war. I am fine with being a nice sorcerer king of the underworld. But when we are in battle? You bet your ass I want to go full dark lord because it is fun and dramatic:grin:
