Ah yes, a Death Spirit known for being the place the dead return to killing someone is definitely no way to kidnap them and drag them home.

A Death God with a working afterlife doing that, on the other hand...

Even ignoring that us bearing a child wouldn't neccesarily make us female, even if our form starts out female there's no reason it can't change later on.

This goes in all directions of course.

I was under the impression from the last quests is that if you had any sort of Aspect, you had to have a gender and it did in fact mean that you have to be a girl to give birth(unless you had shapeshifting traits).
 
With how complicated the reproductive process of gods and spirits is, anything could happen. I mean, Thoth literally thought himself into existence, Zeus impregnated a woman as a beam of light, and the main character of the previous amber age had children with an octopus (i miss those sprites). Use having kids as a gender-less representation of death is, while not the least weirdest example, is far from the most top. I mean, having a female death spirit would be pretty cool (and uncommon, the only mythology i can think of off the top of my head with a female death entity that isn't a psychopomp is Mesopotamia with Ereshkigal, and even then i'm pretty sure she's replaced by her husband Nergal at some point. Actually at this point in time were more of a psychopomp like The Morrigan). So i'm fine with being gender-less, but if we get the chance to pick i'm voting female. We can end up like a Hawaiian Death from Marvel comics.

I'm not sure bringing up the possibility of a god raping someone makes them a rape apologist. It's not saying that rape is OK, just that it's a thing that someone can do. And honestly, though I understand WHY (murder victims aren't exactly around to complain about it), it's a little hypocritical that people have no problem with having a main character murder someone, but having them rape someone is unacceptable EVEN IF IT'S PORTRAYED AS EVIL, despite the fact that murder is a significantly worse thing to do.

I want our god to be a good guy, so I'd be against this plan, but I don't think it's being a rape apologist to suggest that sometimes people do horrible things, or to have a fictional character do so. There are good arguments against allowing such a thing, such as that it makes people quite uncomfortable at best or brings up memories of traumatic experiences at worst, but I don't think that it being inherently a form of rape apologia is one of them.

That said, chances are the mods would never let us do so, perhaps due to said hypocrisy and perhaps due to those good arguments I mentioned. I don't agree with that decision, because I'd prefer if the forum itself were a place where you can say just about anything and for only individual threads to have rules against certain speech, but it's still the case, and they're in charge, so even if we wanted to do so (which I don't), it's really not an option.

EDIT: Since apparently it's not clear enough for some people, let me make myself clear: I am not defending rape, or saying that rape should occur in this quest or even be allowed in this quest. I am only disagreeing with calling someone a rape apologist for stating that it's a thing our character could do. I do not think that means I'm fucked up or that something is wrong with me.

Excuse me? I've been trying to be relatively civil, but I don't think it's a fucked up opinion to say that simply SAYING THAT A CHARACTER COULD DO SOMETHING is not rape apologia. In a certain sense, one could argue that to be angry any time a work of fiction has rape in it is a form of rape denial.

I stated that there are good reasons for disallowing fictional rape in certain contexts, and that I merely disagree with your particular reason. But somehow I'm fucked up for that? Fuck you, then. If you won't be civil, I won't either. Rape is an incredibly serious topic that needs to be handled with care, and I don't think this story is the right place for that, but that doesn't mean you can accuse someone of thinking rape is OK just because they say that a character could do it.

Fair enough, we need to stop. But I do feel the need to state that I'm rather pissed off that I'm somehow a fucked up rape apologist for saying that someone else's comment wasn't fucked up, and that a number of people apparently agree with Panda on that. Not continuing the debate, just saying I'm rather pissed off at the response to me just stating my opinion on it. That said, that's the last I'll say on the subject, and if anyone has anything they urgently need to add or respond with, they had better take it to PMs.

As long as we become a volcano first, the only other thing I'd want would be Life so we can get into reincarnation stuff, then we can make people into lizards or lizards into people and make lizard people.

Just, volcano first, life/reincarnation second, then whatever after is my priority.


We are Death Mountain, a (future) volcano.
