Magi does not do that. Magi is the DE-oriented magic skill, and it influences how effective you are with magic (and divine powers).
Aww. What's the mutagenic skill, then? Or is deliberate mutation of swathes of the local ecocommunity not a thing that can be gained during chargen and I should vote for something else?

We should totally be a fucking komodo dragon.
It fits in with the locale (tropical island) and it's about as close as you can get to an actual dragon while sticking to real life species.

There is no mutagenic skill. You can't just deliberately mutate stuff, you have to actually go through the effort of producing progeny that becomes part of the system over time.

New vote! Replaced Magi with Actor so we have a skill to persuade other spirits to mate and create beautiful monstrous progeny together! (And Actor, because Majestic and Clever lend themselves a bit too well to rape vis-a-vis mating...)

If we are going to start in a very young world, we should totes go for the Wanderer so we can find and claim the best stuff.
Going for Mysticism as well so we can look even further as well as be aware of incoming threats. A point in Magi to give us some umph and potentially a fireball spell :3
