'I will not cry.' you tell yourself as you pick up the shovel and place it on your right shoulder.

The sun is shining high in the sky, the birds are singing, and you can hear all the little critters skittering about. The grass feels good on your bare feet as you trod forward, not letting anything distract you from your task.

'I will not cry. Momma says that crying is for babies and toddlers.' you tell yourself as the trees that line your path cast their shadows over you.

The wind feels good against your skin as you move along the well trodden path. The path you walk is not one you merely remember, it is one that has imprinted itself into your very being.

You can still see her now, her bright emerald locks tickling your nose as she holds you against her chest. She smelled of lilies and dandelions that day. She always changed it depending on the season. From roses to daffodils, you can recall every scent.

'I will not cry. Momma says that crying is for babies and toddlers, and I am neither of those no more. I am a grown, young adult now.' you tell yourself as you finally reach your destination. You raise the shovel, and set it into the soft dirt.

You push it in, pick it up, and toss it away.

Just like how Mama doe-

….How Mama did it.

By the time the sun has set over the cliffs behind you, and the land is covered in a blanket of shadows, your work was finished. You reached into the pack she gave you, and drew out a tiny pearl. It wasn't really anything special, just a normal, silky smooth, bright pearl that your mother had told you she had found in the woods one day.

She made you promise her that when the time came, you wouldn't bury her body, but this pearl instead. You weren't sure what she meant at the time, but you wouldn't disagree with your mother's last wishes.

You take one last entirely too short, look at the pearl. Then, you hold it over the grave you've dug, and drop it in. You stand there until you hear the jewel thump against the dirt at the bottom.

'I will not cry. Momma says that crying is for babies and toddlers, and I am neither of those no more. I am a grown, young adult now. I can take care of myself. And...that...means….I can't...cry' you tell yourself as wet droplets that are definitely not tears fall down your cheeks.

You stand there, listening to the night air as you think on your mother. The woman who raised you, fed you, and was your source of safety throughout your entire life.

She was your best friend.

She was your rock in the ocean of the world.

She was your Mama.

And now she's gone.

You do not collapse onto the ground, fist hitting the dirt rhythmically as you do not scream into the night air, uncaring of who or what might hear you.

You do not start to cry out the word 'Mama!' over and over again, until the sun comes up in the morning.

What you do do however is stand up from the soft ground, and wipe your arm across your face. You think some of the dust from the grave got in your eyes and you're trying to clean it out.

Satisfied, you look down at the grave, and smile.

'Thank you for everything you have done for me, Mama. I promise to be a good little child. Just like you would've wanted! Wait for me, Ok?' you mentally say to the grave. Mama was always good at reading your mind, you're pretty sure she heard you.

So you turn around and start to walk back to your home.

You've got some work to do.

And Mama didn't raise no slouch.

And yes, most of this I copy/pasted from AGG:ER. Please don't get mad Sage.

Couple of things before I begin:
-While I did create this world, and made the basics for it(factions, lore, etc.) some of this stuff I will be pulling out of my ass, but only if it makes sense for the world.
-This is my first Sage Quest, and I will admit I am not a very good writer.

World Info:

If my memory serves there are currently three races in the world, the Mortals (Humans and Enhanced Humans), the Vampires and the Werewolves. Each of these races has three different factions that have split off from each other:

Mortals:

  • The Tudor Kingdom: A Human Kingdom based around knights, chivalry and magic. At war with the Yemamid.
  • The Yemamid Dynasty: A Human Shogunate based around technology, honor, and the Old Values. At war with the Tudor.
  • The Phoven Empire: A long dead Empire brought back through the use of magic as an Undead Legion. Currently gathering their strength.

Vampires:

  • The Nightlords: One of the oldest vampiric clans, and some of the most powerful. Doesn't very much care for the Horde.
  • The Blood's Horde: A clan of vampires, fixated on one thing and one thing only; killing humans. They care for not except battle. Hate the Nightlords.
  • The Moonlight Oblivion: Trust me sweetie, it's better if you know nothing about this faction.

Werewolves:

  • The Silent Cave Pack: The oldest werewolf pack. Makes their home in the mountains. Currently gathering strength.
  • The Lycan Woodland Pack: The werewolves who live closest to mankind. Make their homes in the woods. Currently gathering strength.
  • The Sentinel Canines: These are-
As you can probably tell, none of the races really care for each other. The Vampires either want the world dead or enslaved, while the humans are too busy fighting each other to really make a difference. The Werewolves will only interfere, if the Vampires start to make a move. So as of right now, the world is in a kind of stalemate, I guess.

Week 1
Week 1:

You awaken just as the first warm rays of sun shine onto your face. You smile as you jump out of your bed, plant your feet on the ceiling, then shoot back down next to the door. Your crack your neck with a satisfying sigh. Nothing like a bit of exercise to get the blood pumping!

You stretch for a bit, then sprint down the hardwood steps into the spartan kitchen you and your Mama built together. While she was the main one who made breakfast(how did she always get up before you?) you knew enough about cooking to feed yourself. You're a big girl after all!

You dig into your food as the birds outside begin to sing into the morning breeze. You always loved just sitting there with Mama, relaxing as the birds serenade you. It almost made you feel like a Queen in one of those old story books Mama used to read you.

You pause, the last bit of scrambled eggs falling from your lifted fork. But, she won't be able to read to you anymore, because-

You (mentally)slap yourself. 'No! No! No crying! Mama would want me to be strong!' With slightly less enthusiasm, you finish off your meal and step out onto the veranda.

With Mama…..gone, the Homestead is your responsibility now. You're sure you'll be fine. Mama was able to keep this place up all by herself with little help from you.

That doesn't mean she let you stay idle. Far from it, she took you with her everytime she went out to do maintenance on the place. She said she, "Wanted to make sure you were ready." You're guessing she meant to care for this place.

With the two of you, the work was a breeze really. Make sure the farm animals are in their proper place, pull out any weeds that pop up, and make sure that predators stay as far away from the place as possible. Looking at it now, you won't really have to worry about anything really terrible happening for about 5 months at the least.

Of course, you don't necessarily have to stay here.

You feel a sharp tug on your heart at the thought, but it is true. While your mother did train you to keep this place up to snuff, that doesn't mean that she wanted you to continue to
live here. The Homestead has been your whole life. Waking up in the morning and cutting down the wheat with the side of your hand like Mama showed you, pumping water from the well, sleeping in your fluffed up bed.

But, that's the thing. It's been your
whole life. You look down the straight path that leads away from your house, heading North. Not once have you ever seen the end of that walkway, or if it even has an end. Your mom had gone down there plenty of times, but she never once brought you. The first time you tried to leave, Mama was there to drag you back home.

She never yelled, but the look she gave you….you stopped trying after that.

Now, however….

Almost on cue, you hear sounds start to come from the stables. You're pretty sure you could take one of them with you. It would definitely help the journey. You would still come back of course, just not very often depending on the circumstance.

You place your hand against your chin in thought as the wind blows about your figure.

You have to make the choice now.

[] Leave, and go looking for high adventure! Your mother will understand, and you'll make sure to visit as often as you can!

[] Stay, and keep this place running on your own! It doesn't matter what's going on out there, you're needed here.

Week 1.2
[X] Stay, and keep this place running on your own! It doesn't matter what's going on out there, you're needed here.

You stand there, pondering for a bit more. Then you shake your head and walk back into your house with a sigh. Yeah, like you would actually leave the place your mother built with her own two hands. That would be the equivalent of spitting on her grave...right? You're pretty sure that's how that saying goes….

Regardless, it's about time you took stock of what you had. Besides the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom(which received its water from an underground spring your Mama said she found) your mother also built you a Workshop/Training/Study room, or WTS as she called it.

You begin to make your way towards the area that is located at the back of your home. It's a short trip as you made sure to memorize the way there the minute your mother was finished with it. It was the gift she gave you for your 16th birthday after all.

You walk into the room and gaze at the hardwood floors and walls, each reinforced with leather your mother had gathered from the predators she had come across.

You walk forward and absentmindedly pick up a wooden longsword you had crafted from a tree that fell down in a storm. While it wasn't as pretty as the swords in some of the books from the study, you made sure that it stood out from the rest of the blades your mother had made. Namely, the fact that you had added wings to the guard to make it look angelic.

You look over towards the workshop in the right alcove of the room. Your mother had created that area after you crafted that longsword, putting a table with a hammer, hand-saw, and nails in the middle of the room. She wasn't exceedingly worried about it, primarily because most of how tough your skin was.

You finally reach the training room with two wheat stuffed dummies sitting in the middle of a ring, surrounded by swords, axes, and spears on all sides. You walk into the room, and feel your arms throb. You had taken many a wound in this area, and while they couldn't break your skin, they did leave bruises.

And those bruises, when given by your Mama, tended to last for weeks at the most.

'Well, on the bright side' you think as you heft a two-handed axe as if it was a toy, 'I'm much stronger than a was before.'
You smile, then grimace a bit.

Yes, stronger, but not smarter. Your mother had tried to teach you about things other than swing weapons around and how to calculate the best way to defeat an enemy, but your mind was just on other things. You had learned a bit of magic, but almost everything was just alien to you.

Oh, except for cannons.

You enjoyed learning about those.

Other than that though, anything else she tried to teach you simply slipped right out of your head.

You shake your head as you place the axe back on the ground.

Ah well, all this means is that you'll have to learn it on your own.

That would be what Mama wanted.

Pick Two Skills to Train.

Week 1.3
[X] Superhuman-Speed: 20+15 = 35

25: Moving fast was never a problem for you. Whenever wolves or other creatures tried to hurt your chickens, Mama would always tell you to run and help them. It was really good exercise, and many times you got there before the wolves ever had a chance to see you! However, with Mama gone, you're gonna have to be faster, so that you can stop the wolves before they even get on the farm. So, you place yourself at the very edge of your property, just before it turns into that long straight road. Then you run.

30: And run.

35: By the time you stop, you realize that you passed by the chicken coop and came back around about 5 times. Which is wierd, because all you remember is your vision getting blurry and your legs pumping really hard. Either way, you can't help but feel….more agile somehow.
You can now move faster than the human eye can see.

[X] Empathy-Motives: 0+10 = 10

5: Pouring through some of the old books on people that your mother put in the Study, you come across one that has a blank front cover. On the cover however, is a label in your mother's handwriting. It says "People, How do they work?" Your right eyebrow raises as you open the book to "Chapter 1: Reasons!" This could come in handy!
You now know what "reasons" are.

10: Further along, the book starts to talk about how everyone has a "reason" for doing something, even if they don't really know what it is yet. You slightly jump at this statement. You mean that people have don't just do things because that's just how it is?! Thinking further, you realize that, that statement is a bit ironic, since it is also a reason in and of itself. You discover that people have "reasons" for doing things.

---
You wince as your hand rubs cool water on your ankles. While moving that fast is all well and good, you're not sure the pain that came after was worth the risk.

[Speed Skill: 35: Success!]
[+10 XP]

That is until you finish the daily yard work in less than 20 minutes. Wow! You've never finished all your chores this fast since….ever really! Thinking on it, you're pretty sure you could improve your farm to some degree. An irrigation system of sorts. Of course you're gonna need some more materials than just wood.

[Invention(Extravagance): 15: Success]

Week 1.4
[X] Cannon Blade

You're pacing around the WTS, pondering the implications of fusing the sharp edge of a melee weapon with the destructive shot of a cannon when you stop and smack yourself in the head.

Where are you gonna get the materials to make a real sword and cannon?

You look towards the racks of weapons lined up against the training room walls. Wooden weapons to be exact. You're mother did support your creativity, but she was still a mom. She didn't like the thought of her little girl playing with actual weapons.

Saws, hammers, and nails were, of course, an exception. Those couldn't break through your rather tough skin.

An iron sword being swung by another person however…..well you didn't want to risk it.

You sigh, this could be a problem.
---
Thankfully, it was rather easy to fix.

[Speed + Strength: 20 + 35: 55 vs DC: 30: Success!]
[20 XP]

You drop the massive rocks of iron that you mined out onto the workshop floor. Now you're really glad you increased your speed. You were able to find that mountain and get back home in no time flat! Getting the iron turned out to be pretty easy, too. You just had to punch a hole in the mountainside until you struck iron.

Looking at your materials, you crack your fingers and get to work.
---

It takes you the better half of the day to get the whole thing finished, but, as you wipe your hand across your forehead, you know it was worth it. You lift up the greatsword(because what else are you gonna put a
cannon in?!) and admire it.

It was beautiful. The blade itself was a standard iron blade, sharp, big, the works. The guard was flat, but was decorated with the same wings you put on your wooden longsword, giving the blade some much needed balance. However, it wasn't the blade or the guard that made it stand out.

You flip the sword over, and point the hilt towards one of the dummies. You make sure to jab the blade through the ground to act as an anchor in case the force of the shot knocks you back.

You look down at the hilt, giving it one last once over before you test it. It was a bit difficult, but you managed to put the cannon's firing mechanism into the hilt of the sword. How'd you do it? Simple:

[Trickery Skill: 0 vs DC 20: Fail]

You just converted the hilt into the barrel of a cannon! Granted you had to resize it so that it could fit in your hand, and you had to put a flap on the tip of the hilt so that you could wield it without worrying about the ammo falling out, but it was worth it!

After that, the only problem was, how were you gonna fire it?

[Explosives: Overt: -20 vs DC 30: Fail]

You had no idea if there was anything nature had that could serve to fire the cannon ball.

[Sorcery: 15 vs DC 10: Success]
[10 XP]

So, you'll just have to use something else. You take a deep breath, and reach out into the air around you. Just like Mama showed you. Closing your eyes, you sense the winds of magic all around you, and grab hold of three or four strands. Then, you weave them into your sword's hilt, watching as they become apart of the weapon. Once enough of them are weaved, you will them into becoming propulsion for the iron ball you're using as ammunition.

You open your eyes, aim, and press the small button on the top of the hilt.

[Cannons Skill: 15 vs DC 10: Success]
[10 XP]

There's a loud clang, and then the iron ball comes roaring out of the cannon. It smashes into the dummy, making straw fly across the hard floor as it knocks off the dummies torso. Then it continues into the second dummy you set up right behind it, knocking that one completely off it's feet. It finally stops after it hits the third dummy...by embedding itself into the thing's chest.

You stand there with a massive grin on your face. It works! It actually works! You start to dance around the room with your sword in hand. When you stop you look at the blade and kiss it repeatedly. Your first real weapon and it actually works!

'I should name this' you think to yourself, as you hold the blade aloft. 'All those cool knights in the stories Mama would read me always named their weapons.' You stand there pondering, before finally settling on a name.

[] Write in...

[X] Irrigation system

Aaaaaaannnnnnddddddd done!

You sigh heavily, as you place the bucket and hoe done at your feet. That actually made you break a sweat! That hasn't happened since Mama had you chop down 32 trees to expand your property that one time! You made sure to plant some acorns in the spots where the trees were in so that more would grow, of course.

[Business: -15 vs DC 10: Fail]

You look out at your farm land and smile. It took a lot, but you finally got all of those trenches dug, and filled each and everyone of them with water. That should keep the plants well watered for a while!

Something else I forgot to mention is that the Skill Cap is 100.

But since you are an Enhanced Human, Superhuman Skills are Capped at 150. Unless you get like the favour of a God or something. Only then will it go to 200.

On top of that if you want to get to the Enlightened Being, get all of your Superhuman Skill to 100 and all the skills of another category(i.e. Melee Weapons) to 100 as well.

Also, if you guys are wondering exactly how strong Enhanced Humans are:

Superhuman:
-Strength: 20
-Speed: 20
-Endurance: 20

This is someone who is a basic Enhanced Human. Think Captain America.

Superhuman:
-Strength: 50
-Speed: 50
-Endurance: 50

This is someone who is a more advanced Enhanced Human. Think Guts from Berserk.

Superhuman:
-Strength: 100
-Speed: 100
-Endurance: 100

A very powerful and experienced Enhanced Human. Think Goku from DBZ.

Superhuman:
-Strength: 150
-Speed: 150
-Endurance: 150

An almost God-like being. Think Superman + The Flash + The Juggernaut….times 100.

Superhuman:
-Strength: 200
-Speed: 200
-Endurance: 200

You are almost Chuck Norris.
ALMOST.

Week 1 End/ Week 2
[X] Leave Nameless for now

You look upon your weapon...and you frown. No. No, you would not name it yet. Maybe after you gave it a few upgrades?

'After all,' you swing the weapon around you in a flourish before pretending to sheath it across your back. You chuckle a bit. 'It is
my weapon.'

[Luck Roll 1: Nat 20]

You dust off your knees as you begin to walk away from your mother's grave. You promised her that you would try to visit her whenever you have a spare moment, and you tend to have a lot of those. With the irrigation system set up, you don't really have to water the plants as much as you used to, so you actually have a lot of extra time on your hands.

Granted, most of that time is spent checking on the animals, planting new seeds, and making sure everything's running smoothly.

Even so, you tend to have…..hmmm?

You stop walking as you look down at your feet. There, sniffing at your leg, was a small wolf pup. You raised one eyebrow at it, as it began to circle your feet. It was hardly as big as your hand, and seemed to be a new born fresh out of it's cave.

However, what was strange was that it had striped ruby and sapphire fur. It's not like you haven't seen wolves before, but you've never seen one with a coat of fur like that before.

You bend down just as the pup sits down in front of your right foot. You look into its eyes and see that each one is actually different from the other. One seems to be a swirling mass of darkness, reminding you of the starry night sky, while the other seems to be a deep blue like the ocean.

You smile and reach behind the wolf's ears to scratch it. It doesn't seem to mind, and even starts to rub against your hand as you continue. Once you stop, it barks at you and runs off into the woods.

A few minutes later, it comes back out, dragging a rather large scroll in its jaws. It lays it at your feet while looking up at you expectantly. You grab the scroll and open it.

Dear Traveler,

Thank you for being nice to me!

I'll make sure to tell my mommy and daddy about you!

Signed
Kirean the God-Child!

Aww! How cute the little thing is a God-Child!

….

...Wait...WHAT!?

Your head darts around the entire area, but there's no sign of them. All that's left, that's proof that what just happened was not a dream...is this scroll.

Well...you definitely didn't expect that to happen today.

[A God-Child thinks you're a nice person and plans to tell it's parent about you!]

[Luck Roll 2: 8]

With that rather strange incident behind you, you make your way back home. As you pass by the boundary line, indicated by a circle of large trees, of your property, you are treated to a rather unpleasant sight.

[Encounter Roll: 14]

A giant winged animal, almost as big as your house, was currently in your yard chasing down one of your horses. You've seen predatory birds before, but you've never seen one this big. Nor have you ever seen one with it's type of body or face before.

You look down at its sharp talons, and immediately you know that it's carnivorous. Thankfully, based on the lack of bodies, it hasn't gotten to any of your animals, yet. However, you can see that it did knock off some of your roof tiles, apparently using your house as a temporary landing zone.

Just as you take one step closer, the beast stops chasing the mare, who runs back into the stables. The beast looks up into the air, and seems to sniff at it. It turns towards you, and screeches as it charges at you, it's talons quickly eating up the grass beneath it.

[Swords: 20 + Cannon Blade: 10 + Cleverness: 20 + Speed: 35 + Strength: 20 = 105 vs DC: 50 = Extreme Success!]
[+10 XP]

Before the creature even knows what hit it, you jump up and land on top of it's back. Taking out your Cannon Blade, you slam the flat of your blade into its spinal cord, effectively eliminating the threat of it flying again. It screams in pain for a second, before you flip over and smash the flat of your blade against its beak.

The force of the blow causes it to flip end over end and crash into the ground. As it skids to a stop, you land a few feet away from it, and sheath your sword across your back. Thankful you made that sheath for it after you fine tuned the cannon a bit, you walk over to your fallen foe.

The creature, struggling a little as it does its best to stand proud, seems to look at you with equal parts hatred, and respect. It seems to try to take up a fighting stance, ready to fight to the death.

You have to commend it for that, still fighting even though it's got a broken spine and face.

And it's for that exact reason….

[X] You let it live. It didn't really do any damage except for a few misplaced tiles.
[X] You're going to kill it. If it wants a fight to the death, you'll give it one.
[X] Try to adopt it as a bet. It's is kind of cute. In a murdery, animal sort of way.

With that taken care of, you turn your back on the creature and begin walking towards your house. It shouldn't take too long to get that roof fixed. And you're pretty sure you can just punch some of the iron you have left over into some suitable squares....

Sorry it took sometime. I've been playing Doom 4 and Total War: Warhammer...and I just beat Dark Souls 3 the first time.

If anyone is asking about the encounter thing, you're an Enhanced Human. You were made to fight against 5000 normal human for 50 days on end without needing food or water. A griffon is no match for you.

Now some of the other things in the world….

But anyway, yes I did go a bit easy on you. I'm not a GM who believes in pushing in the player's balls for one bad roll when they just started the game. However, if the roll had been worse (i.e. Nat 1-4) then you would've lost some crops or maybe even your irrigation.

But that didn't happen so, yay!

Week 2.1
[X] Try to adopt it as a bet. It's is kind of cute. In a murdery, animal sort of way.

As you begin to walk towards your study, you make a little detour towards your new….addition to your stables. Thinking back on it, the transition wasn't completely smooth(that tends to be the case when you bring a carnivorous bird-creature into a building field with herbivores) and more than once you had to chase down and tackle a horse that got out of it's stall. On top of that, you had to subdue the creature a second time when it tried to gore you on it's talons with a sneak attack.

You dodged and grabbed its neck in a sleeper hold until it calmed down.

After that, and a few well placed words, you were able to calm all of the animals down. Figuring that if the creature was like a bird, it would require a nest, you climbed up onto the top of the stable and made one. It was pretty easy, you just had to gather a couple of twigs, leaves, and such and place them in a rough circle.

Once you were done, you carried the beast all the way to the makeshift nest and, gently, placed it into it's new home. It didn't seem to protest at the time, then again, it couldn't really do much with a broken spine. It just looked at you with some kind of acceptance mixed in with defeat. However, behind that you could still see a spark of pride remaining in the creature.

You smile at the memory, as you jump up to the top of the stables. In your hands, you carry a bundle of meat you cut from one of the dead chickens in the chicken coop. It wasn't very pleasant, but you've gotta find something to do with the bodies, and leaving them around would only attract flies and such.

The creature(you've decided to call it a Lionbird) watches you as you approach, the sun's rays causing its feathers to sparkle with a certain radiance. Its eyes keep flicking between you and the bundle in your arms as you get closer to its nest. Once you're at a good distance, you unravel the bundle and put the meat in front of your new resident, and back up a bit.

You're pretty sure you see surprise on the LionBird's face as it begins to approach the meal you set up for it. It sniffs at it, which allows to see that its beak is almost completely healed.

Wow! That's some fast healing!

You only stick around long enough, for the beast to start to feast on your offering(rather ravenously you might add), before you go off to read more of that book on "People" and "How they work."

As you land on the ground, you briefly turn around to wave at the Lionbird as it watches you walk away. Hopefully, it doesn't see you as much of a threat anymore.

[Lionbird get! Relationship: 2 of 10: RP 3 of 3]

[X] Empathy: Feelings: 0+10 = 10

5: Flipping through the book you found in the Study area, you find a new chapter entitled, "Chapter 2: Feelings!" You are so glad you found this book.
You discover that people have "feelings."

10: According to the book, every living, thinking being in the world has "feelings" which determine how they act and react to certain situations. There are many different types of feelings that correspond to certain situations. For example, someone will feel sad when a loved one dies.

…..

You can attest to that statement.

You know that people will "feel" different things depending on the situation.

[X] Perception: Environment: 0+10 = 10

5: You notice that you don't really pay an attention to where you walk. You normally just put your feet anywhere there happens to be a space at. That won't do, after all, you could accidentally trip on something!
You will no longer trip over your own feet when you walk.

10: Thinking on it, you decide to apply this thinking to everywhere else. What you discover is rather surprising. You had no idea that there were so many squirrels in the trees outside of your property! You know actually pay attention to your surroundings.

Week 2.2
[X] Better Nest: The nest you made was rather make shift. You're pretty sure that with your new residence's help you could make some improvements.: 1 Weekend action

Resolved to make sure that Lionbird's stay here is as comfortable as possible, you wake up before the sun appears in the morning, and go meet the feathered feline at its new home. You're slightly surprised to find that the creature is also awake, and infact has already begun testing its wings to see if it could fly again.

When it sees you, it tenses noticeably, until you hold your hands up in a placating gesture.

"Wooh there, uh, boy I guess?" you say awkwardly to Lionbird. Come to think of it, you never did check what the creature's gender was. Then again, trying to would probably end up with a few scratches on your skin for you, and broken talons for the Lionbird.

You're pretty sure that would be harmful towards your attempts to having a good relationship with the creature.

[Empathy: Feelings: 10 + Talking to an Animal: 10 = 20 vs DC: 10: Success]
[+10 XP]

Living on a farm with only other animals for company has its advantages. Namely the fact that, even if they are a giant cross between a lion and a bird, you can pretty much gauge what you need to do to get on their good side.

"Listen, I know we got off to a bad start before, and I came here to try to make amends," You begin to lower your hands. Lionbird is still tense, but hasn't attacked you yet.

"I'm sorry about hurting you earlier. I only attacked you, because you started charging me. And you tried to kill one of my horses, but that part I understand. You're a carnivore, and you need to eat. You probably figured that no one lived here, and when I showed up you panicked, am I right?"

The creature lifts up its head in surprise, and you're pretty sure that if it was a human, it would be blushing right now. You smile, looks like you were right on the money.

The creature screeches at you, the sound echoing across your dark farm, waking up some of the animals who begin to squeal as well. You promise to take care of them later, before continuing, "So, as a way of apologizing, I'm here to offer you help in making your nest, well, more of a nest." You begin to inch your way forward, until you are so close you can smell the meat from yesterday on the Lionbird's breath. You hold out your right hand, just like the book said, and ask, "So, what do you say?"

[Speed: 35 vs DC: 30: Success]
[+10 XP]

"Hah! I win!" You shout as you jump up and down in triumph right as Lionbird lands to your right side on the roof. The creature grunts in what sounds like a frustrated manner as it deposits the load of twigs and roots on its back onto its rather large pile.

You do the same to your pile, then tell the Lionbird, "Give me one second," before running back towards your house.

Lionbird sits down and waits for you. Its wings were getting better, evidenced by the fact that it was actually able to manage some flight while you two were out looking for materials. At some point, it had evolved from just a gathering run, into a friendly competition. The challenge was that whoever could get more roots and things and make the bigger pile, would be considered the faster creature.

1.45 seconds later, you come back to the roof with some rope with little notches in it. Your mom used to always use this to tell how much you grew every time you had a birthday. The memory makes you feel warm inside, as you begin to measure the size of your and Lionbird's piles.

"Let's see...just a bit more...and...hah! My pile is bigger!" You say with pride at your accomplishment. Lionbird looks at his pile, then yours. The creature flaps its wings, and gathers up it's pile of twigs in one talon. As it walks towards its nest, one of its wings lightly taps a root in your pile, causing a small amount of detris to fall off the top, making it shorter than the Lionbird's.

"Hey!" you shout incredulously, "That's cheating!"

The Lionbird ignores you, while holding its head a bit too high up for your taste. It begins to make improvements to its nest as you puff out your cheeks and do your best to imitate the piercing stare your mother used to give you.

It isn't very effective.

Defeated, you start to gather up your pile of twigs. As you do, you feel a slight wetness on your hand, and look down to see Lionbird licking you. Once it sees it's been caught, it dashes back to upgrading its nest.

You smile. Looks like you got somewhere after all.

[Lionbird's Nest Improved! Relationship Increased from 2 to 3! RP increased from 3 to 4 of 3!]

[X] Alarm System: Ok, if a giant Lionbird was able to get into your property without you knowing before hand, you're pretty sure that something even worse probably can. Hmm, maybe you need some kind of warning system.: 1 Weekend action

[Invention: Extravagance: 15 + Tactics: Alexander: 20: Success]
[+10 XP]

[Evasion: Trickery: 0: Fail]

'That should do it,' you think as you put the finishing touches on your new Alarm/Trap system. It was actually pretty easy to make, all things considered.

You step back, paintbrush dripping in your hand as you survey your creation. Basically what you did was, you made a bunch of slingshots from some of the sticks lying around and stuck them into the ground. Next, you gather up some rocks, put them in the slings, and then painted them green. Seems pretty simple.

However, each of the slingshots are connected to a string which is stretched across your yard and attached to two trees that grew there. This string is also attached to a small can in your room, next to your ear that will shake whenever someone pulls the string.

At the same time the string is pulled, the slingshots will shoot up, and begin to fire the first of three salvos of small rocks. However, each of slingshots are placed in such a way that their shots, if not blocked, will hit whatever they're aiming at in vital spots, such as the neck, eyes, and solar plexus. By the time the third salvo is fired, you'll already be outside and ready to take on whatever is trespassing in your yard!

You congratulate yourself and skip your way back to your room. This weekend sure has been productive!

[Alarm/Trap System made! Trespassers will have to make a Perception Check if they come into your yard unannounced or uninvited! If failed, +20 Surprise Bonus for Combat!]
