In terms of names branding and public relations is crucial for any economic business to survive. First impressions are extremely important and a name and logo will symbolize what we stand for as a company.

Very true. What is Vulkan supposed to signify about our company, in-universe? I don't think it was explained.

would a donnagers weapeon layout even work though? while the republic would love the robust anti-fighter grid when the clone wars kick off the ship to ship loadout doesn't work like in the expanse.

i'm planning on billing the Rocinate as a gunship or basicly a space torpedo boat that doubles as anti-fighter.

also i'm trying to find a ship pic with center line turrets but the only pics i'm having a hard time finding them.
Considering that the Seperatists utilize mass droid fighters waves a robust anti air system would be a godsend to any naval sdf.

So long as it was laser-based trying to make slugthrower or projectiles that aren't missiles or torpedoes is a bad business decision.

Assuming there is any Roman or Greek archetypes in star wars then it is the Name of the God of Forging
So we don't know if our company name is the equivalent of 'goop', it could just as easily mean nothing? "Temaris Voidwrights & Co." was based on the naming convention of Cygnus Spaceworks, which is a company that exists in SW.

We can have our logo be naval/craft related. Also Jax ETA on calling the vote if you would be so kind.

Pepole are voting for it because it is a Warhammer 40K meme about the Primarch of the Salamanders Legion. I don't like it because it is a joke.

Changing my vote, while a naval company named Vulkan sounds powerful, in game universe it has no big significance.
[X] Plan: Cast the Hull

I'm not sure why you think Skywalker is an important name Advent it's not exactly rare in the Star Wars universe.

I mean the QM even said that "*following an obscure remake in one of the Mara Jade books that Skywalker is a MidRim name smilar to Miller in out world."

Is there a reason it should have an impact? Honestly curious

In terms of the Hull series ships, modular add parts can be a surprisingly effective mod option. Need a discount fire support ship, attach weapon pods to the ship and you can have it. Need some more juice for the shields and engines, some reactor pods with shield add on will help. You the equivalent to a long haul trucker but want the comfort of home, well a living compartment can be easily made at easy cost.

While it might be somewhat common that is in the Mid Rim not in the outer rim or other parts of the galaxy. A Skywalker especially a child former slave that saves the planet of Naboo something we as a mid-rim system that also would have a major interest in the shading business the TF is up to in our backyard. We would look into and find out far more about him and the impact he has had both on Tatooine and with the Hutts. Plus there is the fact that the name Skywalker comes from the Chiss force-sensitive Navigator tradition to the point Thrawn kept it hidden from Anakin as a joke. The name opens up a lot of possible ways this story can go. I never said it was rare I said it was interesting. Vulkan has no weight no substance in this universe. All it has is a meme. Not even sure why you care you just voted for it or something. Not sure why you seem to be so touchy about the name being called out.

Been thinking that since one of the requests is for the ability to move passengers that we have 10 cabins in the ship so it can haul some people without extending fully. Maybe 6 up front 4 in back with forward being economy(2 people per room) and first class(1 per room) and back being 4 people per room

I was just honestly curious, I mean in my head Skywalker has always been like smith so I wasn't sure why we would get some benefit other than 'huh what a coincidence' and Vulkan I picked because it can mean different things to different people who love Sci-fi and history. For Trek lovers it means knowledge and smarts, 40k high tech weapons and vehicles, historically a god of forgeing, etc. and I thought since so many out of universe names are thrown into cannon why not one more. Seemed like a good name for what we are trying to accomplish being a smart company building excellent vehicles for Sci fi fans

Skywalker isn't a smith. It is somewhat common but not every other family has it. And again neither Anakin or his mother were born in slavery Shmi was taken as a slave. We have no idea where she came from. Also don't double post. And Vulkan has no bearing in this universe at all. There is no significant god that it could be a reference to, not even any system or person that had the name that it could be a tribute to. No legends at all about it. Things that are brought in from our world into Star Wars have backstory explaining why they exist they don't just get added with nothing unless it is irrelevant or a joke to start with. The only thing Vulkan has is out of the universe and even then it is obvious it was the meme more than anything else that it is based on not anything else it might have been trying to signify. If it was the plan name would not have been the 40K meme but something to do with either the Roman god, Star Trek planet/race, or even a serious example of the 40K lore.

[X] Plan: Cast the Hull

Seems fun.

Also the market doesn't seem great for warships right now considering the republic is relatively at peace and despite being thousands of years old, the Hammerhead is still a somewhat adequate design for something like pirates.

In short too much resource and development with possibly limited market right now.

Freighters are a bit of a hard market to get into due to dealing with Corellia and such bigger names but something smaller and local or creating a pasenger freighter may be in our lane for now.

The Hammerhead is constantly upgraded with modern tech but that can only take it so far. The Cruiser is actually just a Frigate and has the power and defenses of one. But after over 4000 years the class is simply long past its prime.

It is, so whats the current update of its system. the latest i know is this model

Class VI bulk freighter

The Class VI bulk freighter was a type of cargo hauler built by Corellian Engineering Corporation, considered antiquated by the time of the Galactic Civil War. It was developed from the earlier Praetorian-class frigate.[1] The Class VI was 180 meters in length and had a cargo capacity of 2,000...

If you have the stats, i would like to see it.

That is an older ship. The current Hammerhead would still have the same equipped just updated to more modern standards newer weapons, reactors, and shields, not the newest but not the same as the stuff used 4000 years ago.

So essentially refurbished OS, and software. Star Wars weapons seem kind of static though so i imagine it has the same performance just gone through a few overhauls to have it perform more or less the same as it was introduced during the Mandoloarian wars and not fall apart.
