Let's save the awesome names for the frigate size and larger ships. Our corvettes need to stamped out like rifles because of how many worlds need to build navies effectively from scratch.

Like the Heavy from TF2 says "Good idea". And also very true, corvettes are built in large numbers like crazy. Maybe we can call a frigate sized ships as a Shoto-class mainly due to its size.

We can use our main shipyards to develop new/custom configurations. The ones that prove iconic or really good we can give a model number and license to shipyards of good reputation in the mid rim if we get too inundated with orders.

Something for the tech list.
Composite Beam laser weapons.
Few vehicles use this weapon system. 1 ground vehicle, the LAAT, the Blade Wing, and the Death Star.

The weapon system itself is stupidly powerful, even though it has some flaws. Considering that the Blade Wing destroyed a Arquitens class cruiser by itself. Meaning that this weapon system can be very useful in future designs.

that ground vechile one is just a large turbolaser in terms of fire power. but i(t) needed a massive hull to pack the reactor needed to fire it.
First you were missing a t in it. And the ground vehicle was essentially a anti-air/artillery platform. So direct combat would be a waste for the vehicle. In terms of ship use, it would pack a substantial punch for any ship equipped with it. Possible variants include a quicker but weaker turret version to a spinal variant that is more powerful to fire but slower to recharge.

I was rushed do to taking care of something RL.

The LAAT composite beam ball turret style guns? Pretty brutal. Hard-hitting with a wide field of fire and something that you can mount four of on a 17 meter craft. Never mind a hundred-meter corvette.

Definitely something to think about putting on a ship.

have we seen then hit anything other then infantry or light armor?
While I went looking for those, the general consensus I got on them was they're probably very technically fussy systems and while capable of producing a very big boom, they have to be aligned just right. The other thing, found from a 2002 sourcebook suggests they're actually less powerful than regular laser cannons.

So it's very much in QM-determination territory.

Think of them like machine guns rather then autocannons.

Re-Join Ball Part 1
The changes to the plans were quickly made. Soon enough, the corvette sported an emergency powerline to the main reactor, and the turbolaser had a surprisingly small generator. Pinagg wasn't too happy about it but, in the end, accepted the changes as being as necessary to keep up with CEC. He still grumbled about it and made himself scarce in the department if he wasn't needed. It didn't take long to find out what he was up to. Apparently, he saw the small generator as a personal offence to his professional honor. He had started a little side project to produce a generator as small as needed to fit into the corvette, while still meeting the requirements for the turret.

It was an ambitious project that could lead to a solution that could give you an edge over your rivals. But it took time and, even if it hadn't happened yet, it could have effects on Pinagg's performance for the foreseeable future. Maybe it would be a good idea to remind him to work on this little side project in his free time and only if it didn't have any influence on his work. On the other hand, you could give him a free hand and some of the department's resources. Such a generator could be an excellent boon for future projects.

After you had that conversation with Pinagg, you left your office. Today was Re-Join Day when all of Temaris celebrated the Galactic Republic's reunion at the end of the New Sith Wars. It was an excellent holiday for Temaris. In some parts of the world, it was even celebrated with a week of festivities. And the grand conclusion of it all was the ball in the Prime Minister's Palace, the Citadel of Loyalty. Once, it had been the palace of Lord Vulkan. In the first ten years, the Jedi and their occupation forces had used it as their headquarters, before the government had taken it over.

You dreaded to go there, not because of the building but because of the ball. You could think of only a handful of things that would be less enjoyable than going there. But all for the company and the family. Also, you didn't have the nerve to face Risa the next week if you disappointed her now. A wise man had once said to not scorn a woman from the marketing department because they could get evil. Right after saying that, your dad had also asked you not to tell your mother he had been told that.

You chuckled as you remembered that.

When you arrived in your quarters, you quickly checked the chrono and was relieved to see that you still had enough time. You quickly used the fresher and then put on your good suit, a piece in the newest Core World style that Risa had gotten for you. It was still a bit stiff, but hopefully, that would change later in the evening. You reached the dock with the shuttle that would take you two down with a friendly, fifteen-minute time buffer. And yet you found yourself facing an impatient looking Risa, a stunning and (to be honest) a bit too revealing dress that was dancing on the border between sexy-tasteful and just plain skimpy.

"There you are! I almost thought you wouldn't make it in time."

"And here I thought that would be my text."

Risa gave you an evil glare and then turned around. "Come on, I want to see Relooow's face when he sees me in this little baby! That damn Wookie won't know what hit him until it is too late."

"I'm sure it will be a nice evening," you mumbled to yourself as you followed the Nautolan into the shuttle. The pilot welcomed you with a nod that you returned as you took your seat next to Risa. For a while, both of you remained silent, but eventually, your curiosity got the better of you. "So, you never told me what happened between you and Relooow? Last time we spoke, you two were toying with the idea of getting a house dirt-side together."

Risa was silent for a moment and then sighed. She turned to you and gave you an annoyed look. "If you must know, you little busy-body, we separated over the question of if the Navy should buy from us or go to more reliable designs."

"Going by the sarcasm in your voice, Relooow was a supporter of the Dreadnoughts the Navy has ordered?"

Risa snorted. "Oh, I wish he was part of the group that argued for reliable design, but he wasn't for the Dreadnoughts. Relooow was part of the group that was for the Neutron-Star, mostly because of the lower price and crew needed. When I suggested we could come up with something similar or maybe even better, he laughed at me. That hairy bastard then suggested that maybe I should stick to selling freighters and leave the question of warships to real experts! As if he would know shit about my job! After that, one thing leads to the next. You know how it sometimes goes."

She fell silent for a moment, and you could feel that she wasn't entirely over it. That wasn't a surprise; Risa and Relooow had been the star pair in the company for the longest time. Risa, the best marketing person in the company and the gallant Captain Relooow. It had come as a shock when the news had hit the cafeterias that they had separated. All kinds of theories had floated through the yard. Now hearing how trivial it had all been was a bit anticlimactic. You had preferred the rumor that Relooow was a Jedi who had run from the Order and now wished to return, only because it had been so ridiculous.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Risa."

"Pah, he will get his payback today. Just wait, I know he isn't over me, and I will make sure he remembers what he has lost. That and the credits we will get from the girls will be enough to make me feel better." Risa gave you a wide grin and then suddenly had a datapad in her hand. You weren't sure where it had come from as her dress certainly didn't have any room left for pockets. "Now, let us talk about who the important people you need to meet and impress are. I'm there for pleasure, but you're there for business."

You couldn't help but groan when you heard that.

With a small nod, you turned your back to the barkeeper and took a moment to look at the crowd that was slowly filling the ball-room. You had expected to see an impressive crowd made up of the high and mighty of Temaris, but you were surprised just how elite this bunch was. Elegant dresses, expensive (and expansive) suits, and dress uniforms with so many shining medals on them that you could probably build a ship out of them. The room itself was also impressive, together with the expensive looking food and the living servants, this was a great display of wealth and power. You were impressed even if it was all a bit much to your inexperienced spacer eyes. Half of the things here were a fire risk or just impractical. Not that you didn't like a bit of luxury, but when you grew up on a space station, you learned fast that practical was always better than impractical.

You took a sip of your Corellian whisky and found yourself even more impressed. This was the best whisky you had ever tasted. Well, at least the drinks were good, and you didn't need to pay for it or the food. Hopefully, the food was also on the same level as the drinks. You snorted, as if this crowd would accept anything less than stellar to eat. The tedious part with all the speeches was over, and now the crowd was allowed to celebrate. Now was the time that you did your job before the dancing floor was opened.

as for who to talk to... I'm thinking the prime minister for current political events and either Binks or fenrox about current projects.

If it is Jar Jar, future projects may involve the development of the Mantaris-class amphibious medium transport.

Mantaris-class amphibious medium transport

The Mantaris-class amphibious medium transport was a starship designed and constructed jointly by Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps and Otoh Gunga Bongowerks in 32 BBY. Because of its unique design based on a manta ray, that transport was also referred to as the Ray Ship, or simply...

Well Binks should be changed but I am actually alright with her being a Twi'lek instead. It makes sense that our marketing head would be one and it works to our advantage as creating a image of a powerful corporate leader.
No, Nautolan was right. My original concept for her that I still had was that she is a Twi'lek. I later changed it to Nautolan becouse I wanted to use something different than most writers. I also like the idea of that to wide smile they have.
