We've got 8 compartment slots to work with. It was 6 before we made this adjustment.

My educated guesses for the sizes of next turn's equipment, based on previous rounds, are 4 compartments for a Large size shield, and 2 for Normal size crew quarters.

Which will hopefully leave 2 slots for some kind of special armament, like torpedoes, or tractor beams.
We had 2 slot left before not 6 where are you getting that from? We had 14 slots to work with we used 12 for the double-lasers and single double-turbolaser. By dropping the turbolaser from 4 slots to 2 we gain those 2 and have only 4 to play with.

Edit: NV was looking at the quads not the doubles.

If it is 2 on the modified version then we are at 8, I left 6 originally because we had to fit crew and shields and i figured if we had space after we could fill it with specials rather than run short. Ideally we will run heavy shields.

Here are the current Stats. I hope my sleep-laking brain didn't put in any errors again.

Vulkan Corvette
Compartment: 8 (Mk. 1 Vulkan Corvette Frame), (Zyrinox Double-Death Laser Weapon x4), (BlastTech Double Turbolaser Mk.1 Modified)
Speed: 5 (Vulkan Mk. 1 Corvette Engine)
Maneuverability: 5 (Vulkan Mk. 1 Corvette Engine),( Mk. 1 Vulkan Corvette Bridge)
Weapons: 30 ( Mk. 1 Vulkan Corvette Bride),(Zyrinox Double-Death Laser Weapon x4), (BlastTech Double Turbolaser Mk.1 Modified)
Special Compartment:
Advantage: 22
Flaw: 9
Cost: 20

welp. depending on what we spend our advantages on after we kill thes flaws we could end up beating the price goal Tarkin gave us.

@Jax could we get an aproximation of what the stats for the CR90 would look like?

Currently, you beat it in Maneuverability and Cost (becouse you aren't finished with the Special Compartment), it has a slight advantage in Weapons and Speed.
Weren't our flawless engines supposed to be better than CR90 ones? And it was our bridge modifications that made it far more maneuverable?

Thanks to the Ion-Thrusters all over the hull you are more nimble, the CR90 is still a bit better when it comes to pure Speed. You can dance around it but in a straight line, they would win the race on the last meter.

So only in a straight line and not in anyways that is enough for an advantage in a real fight. That is fine I guess we both do have a 5 on the speed so the would match up close enough for it not to matter.
they did shove 11 engines into that thing.
True but ours were on par with them had better maneuverability and cost less (if only because they are made in house and cost reduction). We also put several engines on our ship as well. Six base then a few more when we modified it.

So we boost speed and maneuverability to 6 to give the ship an extra edge in those categories. Use a chunk of advantage points to keep the cost down.

We should also not have the blind spot that the CR90 has in canon so that is a minor plus. So in summary our corvette will be somewhat affordable, and more maneuverable than the competition.

A corvette that can dance. If you can dance around your enemies you can always be where you want to be: hitting them where they can't hit you back, or hitting them where it'll really count. There's enough point-defense you can't get fighter-swarmed and we'll be relatively inexpensive.

I'm not sure what designation people were looking for, but I like "Garmr", a wolf who serves as a bloodstained guardian of the passage to the realm of the dead. I'd go with Garm, but Senator bel Iblis of Corellia is probably the more well-known bearer of that name so we need the variant that feels more Norse. Fenrir or Skoll would also work, as a wolf that can kill a god or a wolf that chases the sun.

Eh, there's been no indication anywhere that Nordic names/themes would be a part of our planet's culture. Feels like they'd be out of place.
As far as I can tell, the first ship was just "the Vulkan Light Freighter MK.II", so I'm not sure what cultural cues or themes we're supposed to be drawing from here. Maybe it will just be "the Vulkan Corvette".

We have no naming convention so we can choose whatever we want. Going Norse makes as much sense as anything else. And if we build the max sized missile Corvette version of the DP-20 we can make it after a Norse Archer/Hunter deity. Like the Frost Giantess Goddess Skadi.

What to name this model-line? ....Maybe wait until its done.

Though I propose naming it the Lanvarok-class

Lanvarok

Messy and imprecise. The lanvarok is a weapon of indiscriminate terror.Darth Sidious The lanvarok was a combination two-handed polearm weapon and projectile launcher that released sharp, poison-coated discs guided by the power of the dark side. Initially purposed as a hunting tool, the massive...

Easy name for the Corvette, since we have knowledge of a decent Sith ancestor we know about lightsaber types, not enough to actually make one, but enough for the purpose here. Presenting from the Vulkan shipyards the Shoto-class corvette. Easy to say, plays to our roots, and simple to write.

Eh, I'd rather save something like that for capital ships. There's a much smaller pool of names to choose from, so I'd rather assign that group to something we'd design a lot less.

Plus there's something fitting about having capital ships named after Jedi and Sith lore. So much more interesting than what most other manufacturers do for their big ships.

Okay I've been doing some thinking and for our corvettes how about we pick a more technical name? VSC-100 (vulcan shipyards corvette model 100).

My rational is that letter and number names are already in use for ship classes (cr90 and such) and we can use it as a marketing thing to play on how we do bespoke desgins.

the 100 is the Outlands security force design we're doing now, the 101 is the model custom made for Naboo and so on. from 100 to 199 are the various custom models and major impovments as technology changes or is refined. block upgrades and sub-verients for specific models can be done with a letter added to the end (example: VSC-100a)

Good idea, room for improvements and a great marketing gimmick.

one thing to note is that the VSC-1XX series only would apply to the base model. if we built a new corvette from the ground up (New chassis, engine and cockpit) that would be the VSC-2XX series

I mean if you want the boring but practical route, sure. I like awesome but impractical for names and boring but practical for mechanics.
