I'm quite certain the answer is no. The final quality of your work doesn't retroactively erase the amount of effort and stress that went into making it.
If I understand this right, our stats are going to turn out looking something like this:We should just pass on designing our own weapons and shields this turn due to the time crunch also what's the stats for the new component?
Edit: But on the whole we managed to luck out with those high rolls.
any of the major corporations who sell to the mid rim. Taim and Bak are a corporation with a solid repuation.
Fairly sure that Star Wars doesn't have anything nearly so effective. The weapon in-universe with the fastest rate of fire would probably be the E-Web, and even with that you can still hear the individual shots. If we want something that could actually BRRRRRT at targets, we'd have to invent it ourselves.
Wasn't the armour already covered in the Frame Design? The results of that mentioned the armour being shaped in a very beneficial way for additional toughness for little extra weight. Are we going to be adding any armour to the design and if so how much?
Hapan rotary blaster things work. Good luck hooking up with Hapes though.Fairly sure that Star Wars doesn't have anything nearly so effective. there are reasons I'm suggesting a rapid fire mass driver weapon. first is to force pirates to turtle under particle shields as mass drivers bypass ray shields. this will keep them from being able to shoot back since particle shields interfere with the user's own weapons
second is that i want these ships to be able to fly into atmosphere and provide supporting fire to allied forces and a rapid fire weapon will be better at suppression work.
i meant it as a supplemental weapon to the requested loadout. but we'll have to see what kinda of cost we're running when we hit that point. The 4 quad lasers mentioned in the specs are plenty of rapid-fire in my mind.
Unfortunately the specs also specifically mention using laser cannons. If we were to add a mass driver, I'd only really be comfortable with it being an additional 7th cannon.
I'm inclined to think that mass drivers are not seen on ships of this period for some very compelling reason, and would see us going against the consensus here either a bad idea if they show up to be ineffevtive, or suspension of disbelief breaking if they end up effective.there are reasons I'm suggesting a rapid fire mass driver weapon. first is to force pirates to turtle under particle shields as mass drivers bypass ray shields. this will keep them from being able to shoot back since particle shields interfere with the user's own weapons

weren't the flak guns on the Venerators mass drivers?I'm inclined to think that mass drivers are not seen on ships of this period for some very compelling reason, and would see us going against the consensus here either a bad idea if they show up to be ineffevtive, or suspension of disbelief breaking if they end up effective.
