We did take improvement for engines so I would like to try and design our own
Simulator for Performance tests: -1 Flaw for own Parts in Frame, Engine, Cockpit

@Jax if we design our own can we fall back and order parts if we don't like what we come up with?

Like the last time, I would allow it with cost in Stress.

Let's see what we get. Worst case, we can pick up a non-unique engine. Considering a "proper corvette" that isn't the "pocket cruiser" most PDFs probably actually want...high speed and high maneuverability are going to be preferred. A corvette that can perform corvette duties but can also cross over into a "proper navy" if the pirates or trade federation decide they want to try something with big ships would be a proper selling point. I'm talking DP20s and Marauders and other "well-armed and well-armored for their size without being egregiously expensive" ships.

If nothing else, a PDF will need to consider training budgets and ship survivability as it relates to training budgets and ship replacement costs. Being able to ensure that our ship will have low crew requirements while still being very durable and capable of handling itself in a crisis would be a massive selling point.

Like, if we were to flip it around and be questing as a PDF trying to figure out how to not get picked on by pirates or the trade feds, personnel costs and time-to-train would probably be as big an issue as anything else.

[x] Girodyne-Engine Block (three Engines)

The dynamic characteristics are magnificent, and the price is a bargain, we can eat up the disadvantages - we have enough advantages to burn

Clearly the best option.
A tolerable 5/8 on flaws/advantages, 2 more compartments, the best speed and manuverability stats, and the lowest price.

The only thing the other options have over this one is better flaw/advantage ratios, but a total of 5/8 is not that bad compared to the benefits.

-1 net advantage isn't good, but this has amazing stats for very low cost and gives us extra space. From the frame we've got lots of advantages but are a little bit expensive, so this fits perfectly.

@Jax are there any unlisted advanrages for using non-small engines? Because right now, it seems that the bigger the engine, the shittier it is.

Bigger Engines are better for larger, heavyer ships. Remember that small means they are small for corvettes. A larger engine can drive a heavyer ship better forward when a smaller one.

known and thrustworthy design, with maintance simplivied. I think that many militaries are not only concerned with buy-cost, but with reliability and user-cost, considering that as long as it's not damaged the hull wont detoriate in vacuum. Thus a ship could last thousands of years.
