Son Quest (Dragon Ball)

I, I feel like I can just trust that our character is smart enough to not be misled or anything. They are going to have to explain why they want the ball if they expect us to give it to them, which means they have to either explain what the ball does or have a very good lie ready.
Personally, I think they might just take it after trying, and failing, to come up with a good lie. Cause if more people knew that it would grant you any wish, more people would want them, so they probably aren't going to do that (well, Goku might, but Bulma would try to stop him and maybe succeed). And they could probably get away, Goku preoccupying us while Bulma makes a escape, and then jumping on the Flying Nimbus and leaving us in the dust.

They aren't exactly super hesitant to tell just about anybody that it grants wishes. I'm pretty sure they've done it before, and while the only example I can think of is Bulma telling Goku, well, she did in fact tell him what they did when he had no idea. Pretty sure there are other examples from this adventure.

They don't actually steal the ball, like, ever, at least not when the owner is standing there staring at them asking for an explanation. They usually, you know, at the very least explain that they want the thing and are willing to jump through whatever hoops are required to have it be given to them. They've never just grabbed the thing in front of the owner when the owner wanted to talk and flown away, and they totally could have a bunch of times in the series. Just stealing it and running away when we want to talk really does not seem in character for them.

[X] Waste no words on these thieves and attack immediately.

....Not gonna lie, I want to see Goku being thrashed.

[X] Call out for them to stop and demand an explanation for this affront before you attack.
-[X] If they can't explain quickly or adequately, attack. You're sick of all these thieves.

[X] You look like a martial artist judging by the way you stand and move, but I can't tell how good you are. Considering others are after this I couldn't in good conscience allow you to have this if you cannot defend yourself. So, I'll make you a deal, we have a sparring match and if you impress me I will try to convince my father, the owner of the ball, to lend it to you on the basis that we agree to your wish and that you lend us the Dragon Ball to retrieve it afterwards.

Changed my vote.

You don't know anything about the Dragon Balls ATM; that vote is @King Arthur giving an example of what he'd like to happen in the next update by choosing the "demand an explanation" vote. I won't count it as valid, so you should probably change your votes.

That is valid, but I will be counting it as "demand an explanation" since that's what @King Arthur actually voted for.

Yeah, it's an example of what I would like to do next turn if things go the way I think they are logically most likely to go. Right now I'm hoping that Demand an Explanation wins as I believe that that is the option most likely to bring about the circumstances we need for my plan.

Incidentally, if "run down the stairs" had won, Goku would have showed up first and been fighting the Pilaf Gang when you got there, and you would have had the chance to engage in jolly cooperation. Not that you won't have plenty of chances for that in the future, obviously.
More importantly, I'm still trying to think of the best way to handle updates during combat. What I'm leaning towards at the moment is to let you vote on a plan of attack or defense each turn and leaving it open for a few hours each. Thoughts?
