Solar Auxilia Officer Quest. A 30k Early Great Crusade quest.

...I'm gonna be honest, what the fuck did he expect to happen? That the Legion known for consuming not only dead enemies but also allies wouldn't consume dead enemies and allies?
This was when the Primarchs were first showing up, with many of them turning their noses up at the Terran veterans who'd actually carved out the Imperium in the first place.

So, yes. He did expect better.

The IXth changes for no uncle.

Unless that uncle is Horus and he uses Chaos sorcery to afflict them all with a hallucinatory berserker curse.

Wasn't it more that the psychic backlash of Sanguinious' death imprinted on them all with his own post-traumatic stress?
As I understand it, the Black Rage was something that was always kinda lurking within the Blood Angels, but Horus specifically killed Sanguinius in such a way that it would be a constant struggle for Hawkboy's sons to keep under control.

If Sang just quickly and cleanly died via Worldbreaker exploding his head within 5 seconds then it'd be a different story, but by this point Horus was gonna be doing torture and soul curses for the lulz.

You can declare yourself as a money-grubbing manipulator who will say and do anything in the pursuit of more money, or you can stick by what you've already done as having value worth preserving beyond whether it's maximizing every penny at the moment. You cannot do both.

Actually, you very much can, the example are every single goodamn IP who range from corpo stuff to one author who do constant retcon. Saying "this just stuff make so you get entretain" is a valid response, specially when thing get a little bit too serious(or as GM have just said, you are a dire need of tuching grass) that dosent mean people cant discuss canon in the confort of a forum where that stuff matter.

Like tecnically speaking we are still discussing this only because Mayto allow it, since really speaking canon only matter as far it is of his concern for the quest. Since tecnicallys peaking almost all this is a moot point, most of our chararter(or all, who can said) will be dead by the time horus even dialogue with interex or Fulgrim even find the diasporex. So meh.

So a question to anyone here: is there any part of terra you want to see in flashback or the like? the panpacific sound cool really.

I think it could be neat to get snippets of what the other Cohorts made and proposed at this quest's start are up to, the same way the MC builds that didn't win wound up as junior officers under our command.

Yes. They do.

And while some people keep buying their shit, a lot more call them filthy fucking assholes and stop buying. See: comics industry, Star Wars, Star Trek to a lesser degree, more book series and TV shows than I care to count...

It doesn't happen as fast as some would like, but trying to do both is as ironclad a method as is known to fuck your business. The only reason GeeDubs keeps going is because they've been in the model-selling business longer than the fantasy/sci-fi story business, and they've chosen to embrace the former over the latter. Even then, it's doing enough damage to their brand you can track a notable hit to their business, even if it hasn't forced a full turnaround.

Sneak peeeek

Sallas connections:

You are a rising star in your family, but not the greatest of them. Your family's assets are being heavily invested right now, and you will not be able to ask for everything you want.
[] Attend board meetings alongside your father:
Your father constantly works to keep Sallas Arms operational. Meet with the rich and powerful individuals of the Franc economy, talk about the prospective interstellar expansion, try to leverage their political support for promotions through hard economic promises.

[] Attend the grand ball of Albia:
Your mother's ambition knows no bounds, and she seeks to rise as high as she possibly can. Attend a formal gala held in Albia for the Urban Classes of Europe, Nordafrik, and Arabia, as they send out their sons to war. Proudly show your scars, mention your accomplishments, and ensure that your name is one known far and wide.

[O] Attend board meetings alongside your father:

We already chose the option to let out our feelings to our parents concerning our brother, so this is no brainer. :V At least for me anyway...

EDIT: No idea why that shifted to father from brother there... uh... huh.

Yum yum, officer hobnobbing, galas and fancy dining, meeting corporate backers, lobbying with politians, setting up that cozy retirement.

So would attending the Galla allow us to recruit more or get more technology?

The only retirement is death or over the broken bodies of space marines after the heresy

Not your choice to do so. You are just an officer.

Your meetings and the like would be about setting up stuff for -after- you rise through the ranks, advance your family's financial interests, etc

There's a particular reason I don't wanna attend the Gala... since whoever the noble child we yeeted from the deceased Storm Axe will likely have said family there and I hate politics. :V

...then again, the first option is also a sort of politics... urgh. @_@;

Hard to be an officer without at least indulging in politics. Only difference for the Solar Auxilia is that a good chunk of the officers engaging in politics get eaten unexpectedly. Long schemes are hard when everyone involved in these political games are liable to die often and suddenly.

The only politics I'd prefer is when it's happening in the battlefield. Incidents happen, you know! Though I'm really curious what'll happen to the company now due to the help of the Marshal... we're slowly transitioning to narrative but until then, I wonder...

...speaking of, I think someone posted a Phosporex Pistol. Gotta get us one of those. :V

...why are bolters special again? o_O?

Why would we want to know about any other Terran Empire besides Franc.

Because they are not french :D

Given how GW seen to do pretty well as of now(they have even buying more warehouses) I will call this cope. Youtube rants and tweeter thread are no indicator of discontent, specially since doing strong retcont hat fanbase have churn along just fine does really said the oposite thing here.

[O] Attend the grand ball of Albia

we already caught the atention of a space marine(sure is not the most...friendly space marine ever) and we already arrange the death of someone under us so let expand that.

The only sin of ambition is deny to deny it.

To be fair, they can't do much about us. 35% casualty rate, our own injuries, and well, it's not like we knew how bad it was.

We at least gave him some honor and deniability in how he passed. As opposed to the others, who did neither.

The first option sounds like a much better choice, we would achieve what the second option plans on doing simply by successfully completing our campaigns anyway.
