Shards of a Broken Sun [Deprecated; see link in final post for remake]

When you stop and think about it, it's a really good thing that Nyarly isn't really trying to throw his weight around

It'll be Hotsuin well need to worry about on the social fu front once we get back, anyway
Get a Specialty in ignoring/dealing with "Higher Authorities" (Pfft) and Integrity to 5? *Hotsuin: Makes a speech of a decade* *Amu: It had no Effect*

Just looked at our Social Stats. Dear god we suck, our only saving grace is Charisma sitting at a pretty little 4. 0 Socialize, 1 Presence, and 1 Performance. And no wonder she's faltering, 2 Integrity, which isn't bad, but we're dealing with... that, so... Uhh, yeah.
Social skills are something you learn. Amu gained a few instant skill-ups on exaltation, but thinking back on it, that was in the middle of combat and social skills simply weren't something she cared about at the time.

Failing that, she's ten years old. I have yet to meet the ten-year-old I can't run circles around socially, and I don't believe I ever will. :p

That essentially just leaves her raw charisma and good looks, which aren't... bad, exactly. Her exalted status means she doesn't take penalties to use untrained skills, so she's already capable of punching well above her age-group.

Eh, I've got faith thisll do it.

The facts line up, all that's left is to follow them towards the logical conclusion

And I never said Hotsuin would be the one Amu would have to convince

At some point, Hotsuins gonna pull rank on Amu. That's when that'll matter.

And then we grind Precence and an 11 year old ends up Emperor/Empress of Japan... (Amu: "Umm... Oops") (SV: "Umm... Oops. Oh well, at least she's a high Compassion Solar. Could be worse."

Incorrect.

Pureblooded Lintha cannot ever recieve an Exaltation, though it's possible to breed Terrestrial Exaltation into their lines, but to do so would dilute their own pure blood, and thus, become eligible for any kind of Exaltation because they're more human then primordial species.

Pureblooded Lintha can explicitly receive Celestial Exaltation. It's been mentioned on DotFA, where it says:

During the First Age, the few pure-bred Lintha have never been given Celestial Exaltation, although that could potentially change at any time.

Not that it will probably ever matter here.

Hey, you've already made better progress than 99% of the other quests on this site, Baughn

So why not?

Uh, no, it got an "ST Fiat" button, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not impossible, just not explicitly hard-ruled out like Resurrection or Going Back in Time.

The quote explicitly says that it could potentially happen at any time, which means that it cannot be impossible, otherwise that statement couldn't be true. It means that it's hard ruled in as being possible, just not hard ruled in as being inevitable.

In any case, this isn't the place to discuss it.

[X] Alectai

I'll admit it: i was going again to suggest scaring you to death because you had stopped being useful.:p

Glad to see that i hadn't to do it; I merely said that i was gong to do it.
Totaly different thing, right?

Hah! I've gotten my feet under me again!

I'm not very comfortable RPing as Amu, but I've got Exaltation Down

Okay, so when we reach a point in any other Exalted quest were we gain control of an Alchemical with 10 dots of clarity, we will know who to call.

Eh, my viewpoint so far for the Exaltation's "Personality" is a High Clarity being that governs it's actions and judgement by asking itself "What would the Unconquered Sun Do?"

It might miss some of the nuances, but it's Trying to be a righteous supermote of cosmic power. Some day, it might even succeed!

...That's right, he would be good at that...

Alectai, were you participating in Gromweld's Alchemical Quest? And if you were, why did we have so many problems after Taylor hit Clarity 10 from the 'fight' with Behemoth?

I don't participate, but I do read it on occasion. The problem isn't just Clarity 10 causing problems, it's Clarity 10 and very little in the way of Virtues or examples to temper it. Conviction 4 and Clarity 10 is a very bad combination, especially as Compassion stops effectively regulating Conviction on the personal scale.

One can be a good person/being and still operate under cold logic after all, but this is extremely difficult to achieve without access to a vast amount of information, which the Exaltation in this case actually has.
