Yeah but the Mirage Express don't actually get the concept of getting old, in fact I don't think he even even understand the concept of death or is in complete denial about it.
I think Belle and Sage could try to talk about the train and help him to let the conductor go and accept that organics can't be around forever. Even I feel sad about the train since he genuine was afraid of being alone and have perhaps a... child like view of the world since he took the conductor promise to the letter.

The thing about Breezie is she's one of the VERY few characters in Archie who has no fear whatsoever of Eggman. She's well aware of what he's capable of, she just doesn't particularly care, to the point she actively told him no without any care when he tried to make her give him a Chaos Emerald
