I mean he really had little time in the comics to really develop more relationships other than with the acorn secret service and having a thing for Nicole.

And yet despite that freedom, he would also feel jealous of Metal in general.

Robotnik on the original run after all treated Metal Sonic like a disposable badnik that could be remade at any time.

Hell his current body is a mix match of later versions of Metal Sonic and Metal Scourge being used by Chuck.

And yet Game Eggman treats Metal the total opposite way.

A prized possession, something unrepleaceable, a son.

No matter how many defeats Metal suffers, Eggman never gets rid of him.

Sage no doubt would also feel curiosity at Shard and probably sadness that a version of her father would treat what is essentially her brother that way.

On the other hand that also creates funny moments when he is with Nicole as no doubt Sage would act like that clingy and annoying younger sister at her technically brother girlfriend.

Compared to who? Like Rought and Tumble aren't exactly commom Mooks, and while they aren't exacty A listers, they have their uses.

Like, in the Comic Bad Guys were Starline frees them, Mimic and Zavok, the 5 of them manages to completely demolish the prison they were in and make a flawless escape, and in their subsequent missions they also helped in assisting for success. Like, it's not showed much but most Sonic charcaters are just common folk, it's just a few people that are standouts, like Tangle, The Rookie, Mimic, etc, that are above the common cut, and Rough and Tumble certainly land there.

They are not the ultimate best stuff there is, but they have their uses and can be decent minions if used properly, as Starline said in the comic.

Didn't mean to give that long of a post, but yeah, just wanted to say, cause they lose to sonic and pals all the time and got almost killed by Canaan doesn't mean they aren't good in any measure.

Yeah, and they're perfect minion material for us to use. Because let's kind of faces they're more of a follower than a leader. Type of guys definitely gonna put them with clove. See how that's gonna work with her.
