Puella Magica Somniabunt Sanguinis [PMMM/Bloodborne]

Yes, I did take a bit of a liberty with the original plan in having it take place going to, rather than at MMH, but I reasoned that it would allow a more natural introduction for Ruby than 'Surprise, I'm a new transfer student yet this mysterious senior is already friends with me'. Instead, we are Homura's adorable Senpai, and Homrua's Homuraness can be written off (for the moment) as first day at a new school nerves.

wearing what you had been informed was an acceptable facsimile of a senior at Mitakihara Middle School.

Are we wearing a uniform of a senior ("acceptable fascimile of a senior uniform at Mitakihara...") or are we wearing like, an entire "person" as a disguise for this?

the demands of the future that she had been intermittently resembling this last week.

resembling or reassembling?

and tried to give Homura some last minute advice on how to appear only at speaking a language that she fluent in.

I think this is "appear only okay at speaking a language that she was fluent in".

I say we be like, over the top apologetic and fussy. Play to our known strengths?

Ruby is dressed as a senior, not wearing one. That would be unhygenic. Homura is resembling a marionette, not reasembling one, and yes that was a missing word that I'll go and edit.

Wait, we're really playing Ruby as the senior?

Ohhhhh dear. Unless Ruby is a lot better educated and up to speed than I think, we're so not ready to sell that act. Although at least we have multiple bodies.

This is definitely a more nature introduction....hmm, have Ruby fussing over Homura, like walking backwards or sideways, only to run into Sayaka? It seems fairly clear Ruby doesn't need visual to see stuff, especially not with clones nearby.

I mean I'm guessing the point is to have Ruby ask them to take care of Homura, and then have Ruby just not show up in any classes or other circumstances, but that's still a fair bit of moving parts and coincidences that can unravel the act. Not impossible, but I tend to prefer not to play that game against the bunnycat.

"Das einzig wirklich wichtige ist das zeitwahl. Es ist nur wichtig, die richtigen wörter zu kennen, wenn man weiß, was die ... zeit ... die geschwindigkeit ... oh, die dynamik der benutzung ist. Sprich also einfach ein bisschen zu schnell, wenn du einfache dinge sagst, langsam, wenn du aussehen musst, als ob du nicht sicher bist, ob du recht hast. "
I had to look at the English version to get what you were trying to say. The German is... eldritch, really. It reads like there is some deep truth contained, but it's just out of reach. Plus some basic grammar issues in the gender.

Here's my translation:

Das einzig wirklich wichtige is der Rythmus. Die richtigen Wörter zu kennen spielt nur eine Rolle wenn du weißt was die... Zeit... das Tempo... oh, die Sprachdynamik ist. Red etwas zu schnell wenn du was einfaches sagst, und langsamer wenn es ausschaun soll, als ob du dir nicht sicher bist, ob es richtig ist.

There's some things I'd change further to make it sound natural, but this is the best literal/word-for-word translation translation I can manage.

It's more that both Ruby and Homrua agree that this should be done when they are at their best, and Ruby at peak humanity looks like she's Mami's age rather than ~14 like the others. As for the rest, like all eldritch monsters in PMMM she plans to get through this by telling a lot of very partial truths.

Not all eldritch monsters do that!

Some just bite your head off.

Otherwise, fair point.

[X] Walk backwards in front of Homura, reassuring her that she will do fine and that we believe in her.

--[X] Apologize profusely, in a very polite manner just like mom taught you.
---[X] Once the apologies are out the way introduce yourself and Homura to the girls.

i mean, i dont think she is dumb? she is probly a very smart flower, what with the royal parent.

There's smart, and then there's "the local middle-school teaches advanced university level classes, and you're trying to pretend to be someone who's already been there and done that".
To be fair it's not like Madoka and friends have memorized the faces of every girl in school so unless the schoolwork explicitly comes up it won't be a factor.

Yeah, but the bunnycat will probably know. Obviously we never want bunnycat to get close, but, well...

Actually I was gonna say wish in one hand, shit in the other, and see what fills faster, but this is totally the wrong universe for that idiom. :p

Point stands, even if bunnycat isn't effectively omniscient in what goes on around here from some remote location, he is the bane of such deception plans. Especially with his, "I never lie," shtick.

Well, we could call him on that; he never says anything that anybody could verify as a lie, except we're another miscellaneous magical creature with just as much supposed legitimacy as him. Point out all the ways he tricks people that we learned from Homura and we pretty much sink that veneer of his.

You know, assuming we don't just obliterate him with eye lasers or something the moment he shows up.

...Huh, right down to having multiple bodies, giving magic, and having white hair and red eyes. I think that's what Ruby looks like anyway?

Good thing Homura hasn't made these comparisons.

It's the last part that gives me pause, because he's most likely to find some way to communicate without us present.

Or lower himself to calling Madoka on the phone, and have her look at the right time to see Ruby kill one of the bodies.

There's also the fact that Ruby takes away from their goal of harvesting negative emotions. Sure Homura is annoying in preventing him from contracting Madoka but she's still a magical girl albeit an unknown one but in the end kyubey see her as someone who will die or witch out thus contributing to the cycle despite her futile setbacks. A sense of inevitably on his part.

But Ruby?

She can just take the grief for herself circumventing their entire reason for doing this, that has got to cause the incubators to respond to this but it has to be delicately handled. I mean if magical girls find out there's someone out there that eats grief for food? Oh boy.

Ruby might not even have to win them over with her adorableness.

NB: Kyubey omniscience is a little exaggerated. I mean,it didn't even know what Homura's powers were until it actually saw them right in front of its own eyes. If Kyubey was as intelligent as fanon styles it as, it'd never give Madoka her wish, because the fact that her sheer potential makes her a bigger threat to the universe than entropy if mishandled, which as an emotionless thing interacting with emotion-having teenage girls, is more than a little likely.

Any sensible thing harvesting emotions for energy would just plug some handy species into a dyson sphere somewhere and milk them of their emotional juices for the next few hundred billion years.

Kyubey is the emotion-harvesting space monster version of a cowboy builder, doing a quick, shoddy job with minimal effort and investment that they plan to run out on as soon as they can before it all collapses. Case in point, when Madoka Witches, it just runs off, abandoning all future possible grief sources from an entire planet, just because Madoka's payoff was big enough that it could get away with leaving.

I'm not sure that's evidence against Kyubey's intelligence - Madoka's power is as much an opportunity as it is a risk. The correct wish could theoretically solve entropy, and it's in no way clear that Kyubey's selves and infrastructure are all it has - it might believe it's only risking a portion of it's selves, and consider that a fair risk.

As for bailing when Madoka witches out, it might simply be that the energy of the remaining human race - which is likely about to die anyway - isn't worth the loss of what selves/infrastructure it does have on Earth. It might cost more to replace them than it could feasibly harvest before the planet is destroyed.

I'd note that Kyubey's intelligence could very easily be the result of thousands of years of experience manipulating humans and targeting the segment of the population most vulnerable to bad decisions(i.e. early teens)

...yes

Holy shit yes

I am completely here for this

Well thought out plan that plays around Sayaka's stubborn-as-hell personality's 1st-impression-is-the-only-impression tendencies is well thought out.

For the person who wanted more adorable eldritch abominations, @ensou has two

Orphan, and My Little Sister Can't Be the Simurgh!
