Puella Magica Somniabunt Sanguinis [PMMM/Bloodborne]

ShadowAngelBeta has mostly got it.

The pacing has kinda slowed down a fair bit, though I'm not sure what can be done to fix that.

I think one of the biggest strengths of the story thus far is your ability to convincingly write an inhuman viewpoint, that is still relatable. That shines through just as well if not bettet in social than in combat. And honestly, I can't think of a single PMMM Quest that hasn't delved into the therapist thing.

Maybe Noir? But that has so many antagonists breathing down Chiaki's neck, and replacing their fallen brethren, and actively piles on more trauma so that there's no getting over anything. I am pretty sure you're not gonna want to go that route, appreciation for that Homura aside. It seems exhausting to write.

Although I do hope we get a better idea of what Ruby's like in a fight. We have limited information, and this story seems more about the fluff than the crunch. We can definitely work with the former, but we'll need more examples of Ruby in action to judge her better.

It occurs to me, we have a way to drive a wedge between Kyubey and Mami. Without dropping the lich or witchbomb.

Kyubey made a new magical girl, right in Mami's town. Evidence indicates that he intended Rika to be a quick Witch. So he never told Mami about Rika.

Except Mami's thing is her loneliness, desire for a magical girl friend in particular. Which Kyubey would know. And which makes him not telling Mami, or even introducing the girl to Mami, rather damning.

Especially since Rika has been burned by bunnycat before, and while still traumatized, would probably be willing to give to others straight.

It'll be a very delicate balancing act, since Kyubey will just destroy Mami via revelations if need be, but we can plant some doubt. Pun not intended. If we're somehow very clever (or leave it to Homura), we may be able to use this as temporary leverage on Kyubey.

Definitely put this idea in Homura's head. Not the best person to make use of this, but Ruby can't even tolerate being in Kyubey's presence, so Homura will probably end up doing the talking on this one.

Also, maybe give Rika a bit more heads up before we let her go. I dunno how much we want to tell Rika about Mami, and how much of the inevitable encounter we want to be organic instead of prepared, but keeping Rika from accidentally witchbombing Mami is probably warrented.

And a final point:

Given previous statements about Kyubey, he probably doesn't realize Rika is still alive. Which will make her a nasty surprise.

Sadly we're not a good enough schemer to keep Rika from encounter Kyubey without actively following her, but still. Chance to blindside the Incubator. There's gotta be something we can do with that...

Oooooh.

Could we trick Kyubey into declaring Rika as dead, possibly spinning his own yarn about what happened to her, and then bring Rika in to immediately discredit his entire line of arguments? Dunno how we'd profit beyond, "Screw you Incubator!" but if nothing else, Homura may have something.

EDIT: Though making Mami distrust Kyubey is a reward in and of itself, considering how siccing Mami on us is probably Kyubey's Plan A for dealing with inconvenient elements, and blaming us for Mami's death if she fails.

It's a pretty good Plan A. But only as long as Mami cooperates.

This.... Could work. It needs refinement, and a bit of actual planning involved before we could line things up, but if this could be pulled off, we would immediately have a 1-up on the damned Bunnycat-Satan. After all, his whole schtick could be nonsense. The "heat-death" he describes is purely theoretical, and may not even be possible, in which case his whole stated reason for creating magical girls is utter crap. In addition, his reasoning for why only teenage girls can save the universe is far from being worthy of immediate trust. If we can poke enough holes in his argument in the immediate aftermath of creating such a scenario as you describe, he would lose credibility in the eyes of all present.

Hm.... If we could somehow do it when our dear future goddess is within hearing distance, that would be excellent....

Nah dude Madoka isn't something as limited as a god, shes an unhatched universal concept.
technically she's more limited than a god. Gods can traditionally affect whatever they feel like to some degree, whereas concept-doka has an extremely narrow "domain" within which to act.

[X] Give Rika a hug.
-[X] Tell her she's a great person, and that you're really glad you've gotten to meet her and become her friend.
-[X] Exchange contact information, if you haven't already. And set a time and place to meet next, if you lack a reliable means of getting in touch.

Update delayed, purely because Torroar has finally finished his 2 year long dwarf hold arc and frankly I doubt I'll be able to focus on much till he puts up the epilogue post later tonight. Seriously, I don't know how he does it.

For an update as to what's been on my mind lately, may I refer you to this. I suppose it's not much suprise that PMSS has been put on the backburner after I vanished for a week and a half. (some of that was due to more coursework, in my defence.)

If you fancy continuing to marinade in my creative juices, check out the link above, it has a big list of all the plot bunnies that have been assailing me as of late. Hopefully there's something in there that catches your interest.

So I have no understanding of Bloodborne things but I do really like the writing style here. A bit too much time is spent in characters heads but some of this might as well be poetry.
