Who are you gonna cook for Tamiko?

Everyone of course.

I'm kind of amused how Ami making cookies once makes people decide that she must teach Tamiko to cook, even if she's yet to even taste the cookies. Meanwhile auntcle, who regularly cooks professional level meals, is a mere 'meh' :V.

I can see the logic of friendship-building, but it's still amusing to me.

Also we cannot work with our mortal enemy. Auntcle would use the opportunity for endless teasing. :V

You narrow your eyes. You can't quite put your finger on it, but there's definitely something strange in the way your new old friends talk about stuff they've done. It smells fishy. But you can't say why or what it could be.

And now with Ami bringing the snacks on the table, the conversation itself quiets down as everyone's attention is drawn to the tea and cookies before you. You might need to let this one lie for now at least. You can get the bottom of this mystery later, and, frankly, asking them might be a bit rude and make you the target of more ridicule and teasing.

Being called Tamimoe is plenty of horrible enough. Everybody knows you're not moe and they're just lying to get at you!

You pick a few of the cookies and set them on your place while Ami walks around to pour in the tea into everyone's cups. You cast one last suspicious look at the pair sitting across you, before taking a careful test bite out of the homemade cookie and munch on it a moment to get a grasp on the taste.

You're not entirely surprised to find that it's quite tasty. You don't remember Ami ever being too much into baking or cooking, but she has certainly gotten these ones right. If you had to guess, she probably does something like this on the occasion, even if irregularly.

"Oh, these are quite good, Ami!" Matsuko voices your thoughts first. "Do you bake often?"

"Yeah!"
you rush to follow up after her, with Yuujin nodding politely along. "These cookies you made are really good!"

You can see a faint, but noticeable, tinge of red creep across Ami's cheeks as she listens to your praise of her culinary abilities. She smiles pleasantly in return, trying to maintain a calm, modest demeanour, and even succeeding quite well at that. "Oh, you really think so? Well, I'm glad to hear that."

Ami giggles a little. "And here I thought I had them in the oven for too long."

"Don't be so modest, you're a good cook, Ami,"
you drive in with a grin. "Maybe you could teach me some day?" You know how to cook well enough, but baking is not a practice you've ever really picked up. Guess you could try at some point? How hard could it possibly be?

"Aww, you're making me blush here," Ami tells you. "But if you happen to find a free spot some time, I'd be happy to help you. I don't know how much I can teach you, being an amateur, but maybe we'll figure out something."

You nod enthusiastically at that. Guess that's something to do in the future. Sure you could do that with aunt, but you have a sneaking suspicion asking her for lessons would result in teasing about you wanting to cook for your non-existent girlfriend.

[X] Talk with your friends.
-[X] Why not teach us all now? It'll be good fun Ami-senpai!

Writing this hurt more than it should have.

[X] Talk with your friends.
-[X] Has she been cooking long?
-[X] Your uncle could give her some tips if she wants.
-[X] That is, if she doesn't mind some minor cases of extreme teasing.
[X] Go do something else after the tea and cookies.
-[X] Watch some movie together.

Someone help please. I don't know how to social.

"Oh, have you been cooking for long then?" you ask Ami while reaching for another cookie to eat. "I mean, you say you're an amateur… But I don't think this is the first time you've baked these to be honest."

Ami fidgets a little and keeps smiling. "I actually only picked up the informal hobby last year. Mom was going to make rice balls for some relatives from the South that were visiting us. It was mostly on a guilty impulse from doing nothing, but I asked to help her with them. And now, here I am."

You nod along to the explanation and smile back at her. It's kind of like you picking up the miniatures yesterday. "Mhmm, maybe if we ask nicely, my uncle could also give some tips! He's a really great cook,-" Credit where credit is due. "-and often makes big Western meals like it was nothing!"

"Huh, is that something he picked up in Paris?"
Matsuko asks you.

"I think so?" you slowly say. Truth to be told, your aunt was an excellent cook already when he became your guardian a few years ago. Her work trip just seems to have mainly changed her menu, perhaps due to being forced to cater to miss Cathy while there. "I mean, I think it's only recipes he brought from there. That, and the meals are a lot bigger than before." And taste so much better than your own rather mediocre products.

"Hmm, I'll keep that in mind," Ami promises.

"Yeah! Although, I hope you don't mind some minor cases of…" Okay, that's probably being a bit dishonest right there. "...extreme teasing?"

"Teasing?"
Ami asks you worriedly, her expression mirroring those of Matsuko of Yuujin.

"He thinks I'm some sort of casanova who's trying to court her friends," you reply sullenly, though you can't help the embarrassed blush creeping onto your face. "I swear, I choose my words badly only a single time, and I never hear the end of it afterwards!" How can it be so difficult to realize that you're only friends! Friends, without prefixes!

"Well, to be fair, your friends seem to be at least partially complicit into the teasing," Ami says, only to get cut off by you sending her a horrified look. That makes her stop and prevent Yuujin and Matsuko finding out about the horrors that lie there. The whole kidnapping thing is something better told on your own terms so that there won't be any misunderstandings!

"Oh, is this some sort of secret I sense here?" Matsuko asks, grinning like a maniac. "Do tell!"

...Nope! "Maybe some other time?" you attempt to evade the question, hastily trying to think of something to distract everyone. "But say, how about we pick some movie to watch together? I think it would be fun, especially with Ami's cookies and tea for snacks!"

"We also have popcorn in the closet and some soda left,"
Ami pipes in before being overridden by a very insistent Matsuko.

"That's a great idea! You can tell us everything while we watch the movie!"

...

Alright, I should be able to get back to my usual pace now. I still have some finals left, but the worst of it has passed.

[X] Pick a movie.
-[J] Rebellion
-[X] Kimi No Na Wa

Because nothing distracts people better than FEEEEEEEELS!

Also, an excuse to make Ziztah watch the last movie I did and cry sweet salty tears. :V

Couldn't we gain Grief from a sad movie? I think it would be better to watch something comedic or actiony.
[X] Pick a movie
-[X] Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I don't know if the jokes will be as funny due to lack of cultural context, but Monty Python is great.
