I had a harder time then usual trying to understand this line. Went over it once and twice...

And then I figured it out.

[] How good it was spending time with them and when can we meet again?

I'm not usually a grammar nazi, really. But this was inexcusably bad. Worse that quite a few others bandwagoned and didn't catch it.

Good enough I suppose. Votes closed.

Damn you, English! You defeated me again!
:( :(
Good grammar and presentation is always great.

But as long as the QM can understand what the people are after, it's not life-threatening. Like that time when you brought Kishi to the meeting with Mariko without any warning.

You watch with some concern as Yuujin disappears from your sight and to the restroom. Though you can't quite put your finger on it, you're fairly sure there's something going on there, something… suspicious? No, maybe not really suspicious, but it's something you're nonetheless curious about.

Matsuko seemed to be in a bit of a hurry to leave the pocket dimension-slash-world before, and something definitely passed on between the two of them. It could be something better left to the two of them. But at the same time, you're their friend! if there's something going on, you need to know if it's something you can help with.

As such, you close your eyes for a moment and open the telepathic link between yourself, Matsuko and Yuujin.

'Err, Matsuko?' you ask her, cautious in your tone if not in your words. 'What was that?'

'Huh, what that?'
she asks back.

'That. That thing you just did with Yuujin,' you exclaim firmly. 'Is there something going on? It seems like you're trying to hide something.'

'Uh, I don't know what you mean-'
Matsuko tries to deny, lying pretty badly, before getting interrupted by Yuujin.

'Just taking my meds,' the blunette tells you, and you can imagine her shrugging in front of a mirror as she tells you that. 'Matsuko is tyrannically punctual about it.'

'And for a good reason! I-,'
Matsuko huffs, seemingly starting a longer explanation before cutting herself off. 'Anyhow, yeah, Yuujin is on a medication. Though it may sound bad like that, it's nothing you should worry about, alright?'

You have to make an active effort not to nod and clue Ami to her being left out. Though it sounds very concerning, you suspect this is not the time and place for that. It's still a rather private thing, and it would probably be really rude to ask about it, especially given how Matsuko looks like she really doesn't want you to bring it up.

Though you can't help but to wonder what it is...

"Um, guys, why are you being so silent?" Ami breaks you out of your thoughts with a question. "I mean, it's pretty strange to come back from all the Sun, but I don't really feel that tired?"

You have to stifle your giggle. "Oh, sorry, I just got lost in my thoughts!" which is technically true too!

"Yeah, the same!" Matsuko agrees with a nod and turns on her chair to stare at the bathroom doors. It barely takes a few seconds for one of them to open and Yuujin to walk out at a leisure pace, looking no different than before.

Granted, there's still the small undercurrent of annoyance of having to bother with this on her face, well-suppressed as it is.

"So, what did I miss?" she asks while casually sliding back onto her chair. "The café still seems to be in one piece at least."

"What, did you assume any different?"
Matsuko asks back, turning her glance towards the reception. "Also, I think they have our drinks ready!"

True enough, the waiter, a young-looking teenage guy, brings you your drinks and pastries before politely leaving you to your own devices. As you look into your teacup, you can't help but to wonder about the day and everything that has happened. Though it was awkward at first, it now feels natural to be with your old friends again, even if for a single day.

"Guys, uh…" you start before you realize what is happening. And by the time you've managed to close your mouth, your friends are already looking at you. Way to go, Tamiko, now you need to voice your thoughts! "Um, it was… Well, it was really nice to spend time with you again after all that time."

"Aww, Tamimoe's getting sentimental~!"
Matsuko says with a bright grin, while stretching closer to ruffle your hair. You easily dodge the weak attempt and huff at the nickname.

"I'm not! It's just that… it's just really nice, that's all!"

"Aww, it's alright,"
Yuujin breaks in. "It was a really nice day, that's for sure!"

"Definitely!"
Ami agrees with a firm nod. She looks by far the happiest out of you there, though she is good at putting it under a veneer of dignified politeness. "We should start doing this again."

"Hmm, yeah…"
you say and pause to think. "When do you think we could meet later, though? Shirome's still quite a bit away."

"Oh, but that's not a problem, not at all!"
Matsuko exclaims and cracks her knuckles very visibly, as if to remind you of something very important. "Getting the ride is no problem!"

"And really, it's not like we have much to do with our days,"
Yuujin continues. "So, really, just give us a call, and we'll figure something out."

"I will keep that in mind,"
Ami nods and grabs her cup. "But how about we all take cheer for a good day, alright?"

Hmm, that sounds like fun! Matsuko and Yuujin seem to agree to that too, seeing as they bring their own glasses to the middle of the table and extend their arms. A happy smile finds its way on your face as you all raise your cups in the air and push them together.

"Cheers!"

"Prost!"

"Santé!"

"Kanpai!"

A moment of silence follows, before all of you descent into a varying states of mad giggling.

What do you do?

[] Talk more with your friends.

[] Telepathy Yuujin and Matsuko.

[] End the day
-[] Hunt a witch
-[] Go home

[] Write-in.

I know now how to say cheers in several other languages. In addition to the English-German-French-Japanese ones up there, I'll also add 'Kippis!' from Finnish and 'Skål!' from Swedish :V.

Aaaand that's a load of BS. Magical Girls don't get sick because their bodies are meat puppets, so there has to be something Yuujin needs to do in private she and Matsuko don't want us and Ami to see.

There was that one time when we were absent from school due to being ill after the Lilibeth (that really weak flower witch where we fell for the spores) fight.

There was also that one time when Kishi was absent from school due to being ill after the Amelia (the jet witch) fight.

Those 2 events being related to witch fights? Always Late has a point though. Disease should not really be an issue when you have Magical Girl healing. If they can heal from fatal wounds and extensive bodily destruction why would they need medicine?. If its a condition from before she became a MG then her healing should at least handle the symptoms if not the cause. Similar to how Homura stopped being effected by after effects of her heart issues. It sounds fishy.

EDIT: Its been along time so im having trouble remembering but wasnt Kishi's issue related to her machine biology/clock ticking trauma?
EDIT2: Oh and Tamikos sickness was because she was poisoned by the witch.

Other variants:
1) she don't know about it and continues taking it
2) it's magical brainwashing drug that let Matsuko control Yuujin
3) she actually cleansed her Soul Gem, but for some reason didn't want to admit it

*delurks* Even if it is fishy it seems really rude just assume she's shitting us, especially when it could be meds for something nonphysical like depression (that was my first thought anyway). If she's telling the truth, it seemed like was difficult for her to admit it, which is understandable given the stigma about mental illness (if that's what it is). So like, let's be polite okay.

So a MG can get sick, but only from magical/Witch sickness. So what magical about Yuujin is afflicting her that requires her to take some sort of long-term moderating treatment? Is there a Magical Girl curse/poison/debuff sort of thing going on here? Could it be a from Witch the duo were unable to kill and had to flee?

@Duskwitch, the implication and story setup so far does not imply depression in the conventional sense. I can tell mental illness is very important to you, and I agree that its important to not stigmatise people with mental illness, but given the biological nature of anti-depressants, it wouldn't work on a Magical Girl due to her unique body. So while both the 'be polite' and 'be polite because antidepressants' sentiments are appreciated, the latter is not really relevant here. OK?

One of the problems here is that Tamiko herself doesn't have the knowledge to actually call out Matsuko and Yuujin here. Far as she knows, magical girls very well can get sick.

Also we should hunt.

Ziz explains Magical Girls 1
To those of you wondering about whether disease and other things like that can affect Magical Girls, the answer is... kinda? At least in this quest.

Naturally, Magical Girls come equipped with greatly enhanced healing and durability, so most bacterial/virus/poison stuff is usually done away rather quickly and without many issues in the background. Defects and inherited stuff, as well as other types of injuries can be dealt with by the very effective active magic like Homura did too.

However, everything still affects the Magical Girl. But the amount of hindrance from things is entirely dependent on how much a Magical Girl distances herself from her body and treats it as a meat puppet. Distancing yourself means that the detrimental effects of your body don't cause you much trouble as Magic picks up the slack.

So for example, a Magical Girl could technically get a flu and would have to deal with all the associated stuff if she keeps herself human (albeit a super-strong one). But she could use her healing magic to remove it... Or if she wants to let it run its course rather than waste magic on a damn flu, she could just distance herself from the body.

And as far as depression and other mental illnesses are concerned, we have a canon example of what it's like to use magic to alter your mental state. It's called Kirika, and it doesn't end well.
