She was so lonely that after Madoka's little speech she lost her head. And then she lost her head literally.
Yeah, I'll agree. Mami's good at fighting, but she's no soldier, which is what MG effectively are (excluding the witchout part.)

Still, If it hadn't been in the middle of a combat situation, things would almost certainly have gone better.

To be fair, Tamiko and co. aren't soldiers either. We've just never been happy enough to get overconfident, and also have never soloed a Witch. Mami could still take any of us 1v1.

And on the mental instability part, I doubt we'd fare much better if we got witchbombed by one of our friends witching in front of us. That'd be a bad end for sure.

I never said anything about us being any better on the soldiers/mental stability side. I fully agree with that. I was speaking in general.

Then again, In general your average person off the street has at least 3 times the emotional stability of your average meguca.

Well, you can technically count Caleigh as a solo-victory for Tamiko. While Mariko and Kishi did keep the familiars busy, killing the witch was pretty much entirely on her.

Now as for Mami... Well, she would roll over the entire group (Tamiko, Kishi, Ariane, Mariko) alone without breaking a sweat. Your few advantages against her are mere speed bumps.

[:V] Come up with a second form of sorts to throw your opponents off guard.

Charlotte resides in the upper echelons of witch difficulty from the get-go, and that is without taking into account any changes I might make should the you actually face her.
Now I'm really curious how a fight between Mami and Cathy would go.
The premise is a lot less fair that you're suggesting :V.

[X] Reach over and hug Kishi
[X] "Don't worry, you're safe. Your friends are here and I'd never let anyone hurt you."
[X] Discuss the best way to approach the new MG with your friends.
-[X] Spend a minute observing her interaction with the cashier so you can build an initial impression.
-[X] Approaching her in public would probably be best, so maybe offer to let her join you?
-[X] Introduce yourself and make it clear you just want to talk, so you don't scare her off.

You frown for a moment, before inching closer to Kishi and drawing her into a tight hug with you. She doesn't resist or struggle at the gesture, and instead seems to attempt getting closer to you. Whether she's conscious of this, you can't tell, but at least you aren't in for a struggle to help her.
A wave of warmth rolls out from your Gem towards Kishi…
Kishi's shivering dies down to almost unnoticeable levels in your embrace, but from her expression she's still clearly distraught about the sudden appearance of another Magical Girl. "Don't worry, you're safe," you gently whisper to her, tightening your hug on her to drive the point home. "Your friends are here and I'd never let anyone hurt you."

Kishi nods quietly against you, but doesn't say anything in response. Though her face is cast down and body huddled against you, it's difficult to shake the feeling that she's constantly sneaking wary glances to the girl at the counter.

Opposite to you, the expressions of your friends are a mix of concern at Kishi and a curiosity at the local Magical Girl. Mariko seems to be solidly of the former, whereas both Evelyn and Ariane are torn between the two, with Ariane clearly fascinated by the encounter.

"Oh, I didn't expect to see another Magical Girl here!" she notes in a conspiratorial low voice, as if to not draw attention to your group. "She seems so mundane when you look at her, aside from the funny hair… Do you think she could be nice?"

Well, maybe? You can't help but to feel curious about the girl there. Even with the obviously terrified Kishi and the advice of your aunt to not cause any trouble here ringing in your head, you really want to see how she is. Perhaps it's because you've never really acknowledged the possibility of other Magical Girls being hostile, despite all the warnings…

"Well, she doesn't seem too bad?" you suggest and take a look at the girl paying the cashier. "A bit tired, but otherwise normal-looking and somewhat formal… Hey, maybe we should approach her and talk with her? Any suggestions as to how to do this the best?"

Kishi immediately stiffens in your grasp, and her face shoots up to you. "N-no… P-please, no, i-it's too risky. W-we don't know what she's really like..."

"Well, whatever the best way is, it may be a moot point anyways,"
Mariko says with a shake of her head. "She's already leaving."

True enough, you can notice her bowing to the cashier and turning around to head towards the front door with the tea containers in a plastic bag hanging on her arm. She walks towards the darkening night with slow steps devoid of obvious hurry, but a closer look makes you aware of a subtle tiredness there.

What do you do?

[] Heed Kishi and stay here.
-[] Talk with your friends.
-[] Leave for home.

An update a bit on the shorter side, but given the situation the entire vote isn't really viable.
