Why yes, the composer of PMMM's soundtrack is in fact a genre of her own mostly because no one's sure how her music fits into any genre half the time. :V

...I meant talking among themselves about the people they spot while people-spotting.

Whoops. Didn't catch that. I'm pretty sure that's just a technical error Ziz.

Hey guys? Can we clean up the vote a bit?

@Hannz Since most of the others have bandwagoned with you anyway.

Why do people want to talk about people-spotting :???:?

I'm really tempted to just interpret that literally when writing the update .

Well, I see nothing wrong with it.
Tamiko has her curse and Kishi is shy, they probably have many stories about people they watched but not communicated (I definitely have).
And Ariane probably never before saw so much people. Surely she saw something interesting today?

As I see it, Ziz is not so subtly telling you to be more careful with your votes so that there's no ambiguity and they'll be parsed exactly as you intended them to be. The intent with this vote was to actually people watch instead of just talking about it but the vote wasn't constructed properly.

I'm pretty sure Tamiko's Favorite song is PPAP. :V

It takes a couple of minutes for the waitress to come back with your drinks. Hot chocolate for Ariane and a coffee for Evelyn. You and Kishi have cups of tea, while Mariko seems to settle for soda. With everyone having gotten their drinks, it's finally time...

"Alright, this is the moment I know everybody's been waiting for…" you announce and reach out for your bags. In there awaits your prize for evening, the culmination or your journey, and a pretty sweet dessert... the almighty fresh cheesecake! You grin brightly and practically slam it on the table.

Sure, it's probably somewhat rude to bring your own pastries to a tea shop. But you don't really care that much here. It's their own fault for not having these available.

"Hmm, Japanese cheesecake huh? I don't think I've ever had any before," Evelyn notes as she brings the plastic box closer for a look through the package. "Anything to expect from it?"

"W-well, it's really, really soft for one thing?"
Kishi says and takes the cake to open its box. "I-it's not usually very strong-flavored either. Just eat it and try for yourself! Y-you might just like it."

"Heh, fair enough! Let's see what this cake has got going for it,"
Evelyn chuckles and reaches out to pick one of the pre-sliced pieces, with everyone else following close behind her for their shares.

You're definitely not left disappointed by your purchase. The spongy, soft texture of the cake is a textbook example of how to do the cake right, and you enjoy the feeling of just taking the time to taste it on the tip of your tongue. The bakery really nailed it! Good thing you bought the extras to home, so you won't run out immediately.

"S-so, what do you think?" Kishi asks, having finished her piece quite quickly.

"Hmm?" Evelyn mumbles, and hastily swallows her mouthful as it dawns on her that she's being questioned. "Yeah, it's quite good! Nine out of ten, I'd say."

"Only nine?"
you ask, faking a scandalized expression. "What would cause you to say such horrible thing?"

"Because that way, your puny pastries will remain forgotten in the annals of history, while my armies of French pastries shall rule the Earth unopposed!"
Evelyn proclaims, twisting an imaginary mustache on her face. She is grinning smugly, almost looking down on you.

You gasp in mock horror. "Oh no, you wouldn't! Your plans won't go through, you monster! I'll fight you until the end!"

Evelyn sneers at you in return, purposely highlighting her otherwise only faint accent. "Hon hon hon, just try it my dear! It's already too late for that."

"..You guys are so weird, getting worked over pastries like that,"
Ariane hums out and reaches for another piece after having finished her first.

Evelyn sighs and shakes her head, dropping the facade. "Heh… Well, to be honest, it really good and tastes great. But I'm not too much into more subtle culinary experiences, so there's this faint, lingering feeling that something's missing. Kind of like eating crepes without anything on them, even if it's not even nearly as bad as that."

You blink. "Oh… I guess?" You're not really sure about it. Pastries are not something you tend to overthink very much. Then again, they're not usually advertised to you either, so you suppose this would have been held to closer scrutiny. "But it's still good, right?"

"Definitely!"

"Oh, you'd like more normal cakes then?"
Ariane asks. "Like, strawberries and cream on top of the cake?"

"T-that's quite fancy, though,"
Kishi notes.

"But that's what makes it so special!" Ariane protests and waves her hands indignantly to accentuate her point. "If you don't have cake often, then it tastes all the more better when you have it!"

"Well, a whole cake like that is a pretty special case,"
Evelyn muses. "Half the fun is in having it with other people. Cheesecake I'd say you can still enjoy on your own in peace."

"You know, I suddenly feel like getting us some cake,"
you muse and scratch your chin. "I really should have thought about this in the bakery…"

"I didn't get a cake either,"
Ariane notes and gives her bags a rueful look. "Maybe some other time, though?"

"Yeah, someone remind us to go get cake the next time we're here, alright?"
you ask with a grin. "Although, my favorite dessert would probably be ice cream! Well, from those that my uncle doesn't make himself, at least." Maybe you could try baking with him at some point? You could end up learning a lot!

"Eh, crepes for me all the way! Simple but delicious," Evelyn follows up and nods at the others. "Waffles are also acceptable substitutes."

"Chocolate-covered strawberries for me!"
Ariane announces.

"Uh… I-I occasionally like to make some dango?" Kishi offers weakly. "I-I don't think chocolate is much of a dessert on its own..."

"I… don't really have any preferences,"
Mariko says with a shrug of her shoulders. "Anything goes if it's available?"

You nod to the list of favorites from your friends. You really learn something about them all the time! "A shame it' would be difficult to get all of these here… or even from the same place, actually. A dessert party would be fun!"

"W-well, that's just the way it goes,"
Kishi says. "But you can still get a lot of things here! S-see how people have bought lots of different flavors of tea and some of the pastries?"

"Ooh, I spy with my little eye, someone with a bun and iced tea!"
Ariane giggles out. "He looks stressed too… Maybe he got away from work just now? Father's sometimes like that too."

"...Are we people-spotting now then?"
Evelyn asks with quirked eyebrows.

"Hey, that sounds fun! Now let's see…" you mutter and scan the crowds for an easy pick. "Oh, there's a group of four young boys there! They have bags with them and they look rather weary… One of them has a slightly wet shirt too on some spots near the hair. I think they're here to relax after a day of sports practice! Considering the shape of the bags, I'd say baseball."

"Oh, t-that's pretty insightful,"
Kishi marvels at you, causing you to chuckle nervously. You've just had practice. Lots of it…

"Hmm, I think that family of three sitting over there in the corner are probably new here," Evelyn tries, pointing at her target. "The child is looking around in wonder and the mother is obviously struggling with the menu."

You turn your attention away from Kishi and nod at Evelyn. She's not half that bad at this.

"...I spy with my little eye, someone with a Soul Gem on their finger. Do I get a prize for this?" Mariko says and frowns. "B-but really, I'm not joking. At the counter, see?"

All eyes immediately turn there, and true enough you can spot a girl there, talking with the cashier. The blonde is probably around your age, if not older, and has polite, albeit a bit weary smile on her face. Her hair forms two very distinguishable drills falling to the sides of her back and she seems to be counting money for the tea containers laid on the counter.

"C-c-can we let her be? I-it's rude to s-stare…" Kishi forcibly whispers out, and you turn to look at the girl sitting next to you. She seems to be shivering slightly, though you think she's managing to suppress the worst of it. It's her wide eyes that betray the sheer terror she's feeling at the moment.

What do you do?

We will not let your bad past experiences with Bitchy Magical Girls ruin future Sempai-ness! We will show you how amazing Mami is!

If you couldn't tell, I've got no idea what to do here.

[jk] What are you talking about Kishi? She looks nice!
-[jk] Wave wildly in the girl's direction.
-[jk] Once you have her attention, ask her if she knows where to get some cake.

I would have much preferred a discussion about the superiority of Antarctica, but I guess desserts are fine instead. :V

My hated enemy, the dreaded typo strikes again.

I think Kishi could use some assurance. Also a gentle reminder that some if not all of our best friends are magical girls.

If nothing else, it's not likely for a hostile magical girl to cause trouble in public.
