[X] Say goodbye to Ami. You two are still on for sunday right?
[X] A new round of DDR... Actually some of your friends haven't gone yet have they?
-[x] Cheer your friends on!
[X] After DDR suggest going out for ice cream with your friends.
-[x] chat with your friends.
--[x] Talk about the arcade. Everyone had fun right?
--[x] Mention you'd like to take a look at one of the sword fighting clubs after school next week. Hana may have kinda put you on the spot but it was something you were planning to do anyway.
--[x] Plans for our trip to central Mitakihara. Some places to visit?
"Oh… Right…" It's that late already then? You were just getting into the best parts where you can actually win instead of failing miserably!
But Ami is not the sort of person who would lie to get away from people. As disappointing as it is to admit, it seems you're going to have to go your separate ways for the day. So you nod slowly at your old friend, easing your hug on Kishi only enough to be able to look her in the eyes.
"Still, I hope you had fun with us! And we're still on for Sunday, Ami? Right?" you continue a bit more enthusiastically. It's not like she would be away forever from your company, even if sometimes it feels like time passes agonizingly slow for you.
"Naturally! Just tell me when you're up and ready!" Ami says and sweeps her gaze across your entire group of friends.
"It's also good to see that Tamimoe has made such good friends."
...On one hand, she should not call you that and you really,
really want to tell her as much. On the other hand, you don't think you could do that very well without letting go of Kishi and Fluffy. And ultimately, hugs trump anti-moe warfare, so you settle on grumbling about the moniker under your breath, while hugging Kishi tighter.
"Heh, likewise! It's good to meet some nice new friends," Evelyn notes with an ear-splitting grin on her lips.
Ariane nods animatedly to the words, and picks up from where Evelyn left nigh immediately.
"Yeah! Will you hang out with us again some time?"
"Absolutely! I think that would be just lovely," Ami exclaims and claps her hands together in delight.
"Just tell Tamimoe to give me a call, alright?"
"Mhmm," Evelyn hums with quick nod. Curiously, it seems like some sort of twinkle has entered her eyes.
"I suppose this means that I can now call you mon Amie?"
You cringe at the way Evelyn goes out to put weight on her little pun.
"That... was just forced."
"Hey, I thought it was a good one!" Evelyn protests.
"It practically wrote itself."
Ami on her part just giggles at the words.
"Heh, I thought it was a really good one, I admit," she says and shakes her head.
"But I'll be in touch. Bye!" With that, the girl waves at you, picks up her crutches, and turns around to leave to the choir of
'Bye!'s from you and your friends.
She's going to have interesting times explaining her sudden recovery to her parents, you'd warrant.
"But say, do we continue, or-?"
"We go again, of course!" Ariane yells over Evelyn,
"This is so much fun, even if the songs are too short!"
"Yeah, another round would be fun!" you chirp in with a nod, while your grip on Kishi loosens enough for the girl to nearly fall over from the surprise and lack of support.
"Although…"
You look over at the red blob that is Kishi, and the more bemused Mariko.
"You didn't get to go yet, right? Kishi, Mariko?" you ask the pair and give Fluffy an affirmative squeeze to let out the precious squeak.
"I think you should try too! Come on, I'll cheer you on with Fluffy!"
"Huh, I guess I'll be making room for you two then," Evelyn continues, and steps down from the stage.
"You'll be playing this round, right Ariane?"
The girl nods enthusiastically.
"Alright, the stage is yours!"
With no avenue for escape present, the still blushing Kishi nods, mumbles something, and wobbles to the stage with a terrified Mariko close on her heels. While they both seem to have their own little problems setting their game up, neither one seems to have too much obvious trouble playing once they get onto it.
And so you, Evelyn, and Fluffy cheer on them as they go, all three spinning and stepping wildly to the upbeat song. While you can't help but to notice how a few times Mariko seems to hesitate and lose points for that, your attention is more focused on Kishi, and how utterly she is creaming both you and Evelyn.
So when the song finally ends, you are forced to stare at the night perfect score Kishi got. The girl looks quite bashful as you congratulate everyone for their scores. Ariane and Mariko too did extremely well this round, with the former nearly rivaling your score this time.
The five of you end up playing a few more rounds before leaving, the more active nature of DDR making it easy to lose your track of time while you dance it out. In the end, you're no longer even sure which one of you scored the best overall. But what you do agree on, is that it's probably enough for the day.
And so you find yourself once more in the backseat of the car while the aide drives you to the mall to the ice scream shop you suggested. Fluffy remains firmly between your arms while you talk with your friends...
"Aah, these arcades are so much fun!" Ariane announces from her seat, still holding tight onto her dolphin plush.
"We really need to go there again later!"
"Well, you certainly seem to be on high spirits about it," Evelyn notes from the front seat.
"Not that I don't agree, the arcade is a great place to hang out every now and then."
"Heh, I'm happy to hear that you liked it so much," you say, flashing the girl a warm smile before taking a quick look at the other girls inside the car.
"Everyone had fun, right?"
"Y-yeah, the place isn't that bad," Kishi admits from next to you, shuffling a bit to fix her posture.
"Huh? Oh, right… The arcade's not that bad a place if you have time to spend," Mariko says, snapping out of her trance-like state and breaking her gaze away from the walkways. She has pressed herself against the door in her window seat, and has been somewhat uncomfortable the entire ride.
It's probably the car.
"Well, that's putting it mildly there," Evelyn jokingly protests.
"I mean, if they had an arcade club in school, I'd join that in an instant!"
"I can believe that," you mutter and shake your head.
"But speaking of clubs, I'd honestly like to take a look at the different sword fighting clubs after school next week. I mean, I was planning do that anyways… probably… but Hana kind of reminded me about it."
"Well, good luck with that! I might join you up on that if only to get some sort of hobby here… But that actually reminds me! Mariko, are you part of any interesting club I could join?"
This time the raven-haired girl seems to be utterly taken aback by the prodding.
"Uh, come again?"
"I asked if you were part of any club back in school?"
Mariko mumbles something incoherent, and sharply turns to look out of the window again. Her cheeks have suddenly gained a faint red tinge on them.
"Sorry, but I couldn't hear any of that!"
"I… I said I'm part of the science club," Mariko huffs, already sounding almost nervous about admitting it. You don't really get the reason she would be embarrassed about that. Science is a perfectly respectable club
"Oh! What do you there then?" Evelyn asks.
"...Science."
Well, that's certainly helpful!
"S-she's also a frequent the school's manga club," Kishi suddenly butts in almost matter-of-factly, and shakes her head.
"S-sorry, but it was bound to come out eventually."
Mariko seems to disagree with that assessment, as her eyes momentarily widen before she practically curls up into her corner to hide her face and blatantly mortified expression.
"Wow, never would have guessed with you," Evelyn notes with an impressed whistle early turning completely around on her seat.
"I kind of thought you'd be in one sports club or another.
You on the other hand decide to take some pity to your pseudo-friend, and save her from the grilling for now. While you're admittedly curious, you can do that once she has calmed down a bit first.
"It's pretty cool, though, don't you think?" you suggest.
"But that does remind me… Everyone still remember our plans for the Mitakihara trip? Any places you have realized you want to visit?"
"Oh, I actually found an awesome place to see the entire city! We just need to…"
The talks about tomorrow's trip go on for the rest of the rather short drive with those of you in it, trying to figure out where to fit the few new suggestions. Mariko doesn't seem to have anything to say about that, partly because she's not privy to your plans, and partly because she's busy enjoying her corner.
Though eventually you arrive to the mall, and make your way to the familiar ice cream bar there. This time it's a bit more difficult to find yourself a free table in the crowd of people getting out of school and work. Fortunately, a minute's search nets you a table with four seats, while you borrow the fifth one from a neighboring table.
All of you make your orders, aside from Mariko who cites lack of cash on hand for a reason. Ariane seems to have none of it, though, and stubbornly insists on paying for the girl's portion despite the protests. It takes a moment for the ice cream to arrive, but you're not left disappointed by the size of the great bowls.
