That speech doesn't work on me. At all. In fact, it tends to demorolise me even more. Depression is so "fun".
To be fair kishi is suffering from (non clinical) anxaity(I think I broke my spell check), not depression.

Which makes that speech just unlikly to work , not actively a terrible idea.

[x] Dinner... wine... THAT IS TOTALLY DATE! YOU HAVE PROOF NOW! Checkmate, uncle!

[x] Sit down to eat dinner.
-[x] Talk with your uncle and Cathy.
--[x]About what they did today

Any and all implications of your adorableness and questions about your life fly over your head as your gaze locks onto the glass of wine on Catherine's hand. You narrow your eyes and move your focus to the rest of the meal. It is suspiciously rather large for something to be done for a single free day between work. This... This is it!

You dramatically point your finger at your uncle and grin widely. "A-ha! I-I have the proof now, this is a date between you two! Ch-checkmate, uncle, checkmate!" you shout triumphantly. Finally you have the chance to push back against the evil that is your uncle! Payback is a bitch!

While you are not exactly sure what kind of reaction you were expecting, this is not it. At first, both your uncle and Cathy simply raise their eyebrows at your dramatic outburst, clearly not expecting such a reaction from you. However, the latter recovers her wits faster and turns to look at your uncle with a slowly expanding sly grin.

"Hmm, I knew there was a reason I liked her! Smart one, that niece of yours, don't you think?" she says in delight and sets the glass of on the table. She leans a bit further to look at your uncle, slightly revealing a metallic chain of a necklace against the side of her neck. Your uncle only coughs pointedly in his fist.

"Well, Tamiko is certainly a bright girl, although the conclusion she drew from this one is quite wrong. We have talked about this, haven't we?" he states, completely nonplussed of any accusations.

You are caught completely flat-footed when he suddenly turns to look at you. You gulp nervously and draw back your extended arm a bit. There is this certain amused glint in his eyes that you do not like one it. "Well, I think you should still watch and learn. After all, a time will come when you'll just have to cook a romantic dinner for your waifu. I don't think those afternoon dates will cut it forever~."

In that moment, you wish you could just disappear from the sheer embarrassment. Your blush radiates brightly in the room and you seem to shrink several sizes. You try to protest, you really do... but nothing comes out except for a light, pathetic wheeze. Why here in front of visitors? Whyyyy!?

Catherine only chuckles at your reaction, further drowning you in your pit of despair and doom. "Ah, young love... Just take it slow, lass, you have your entire life ahead of you. There is no need to rush things yet," she advises you and nods her head sagely.

There is no victory here, not with the two of them ganging on you. There is no dishonor in surrendering this one. You weakly grab the back of a chair and slump down on the chair as your shaking legs give out under you. Maybe if you just eat your dinner quietly, you might just make out with some dignity left intact.

"Uuuuh... H-how... was your day then?" you manage to stutter out in embarrassment as you reach out to the food containers. In your head, you begin to pray that they would make your coming death swift.

"D'aww, you are just too adorable for your own good," Cathy coos and pats you on the head, "But who am I to decline an answer to a face like that? Hmm, I suppose you could say we had a... nice, relaxing tour around the town?"

"...By which she means we spent better part of the day going over malls and small stores in a shopping spree," your uncle deadpans and passes you the potato bowl.

"Hmm, I don't think you should complain that much," Catherine shoots back in amusement and laughs, "You seemed to enjoy yourself well enough! Besides, you sorely needed that upgrade to your wardrobe. Pink looks just so good on you! You should wear it more often!"

"Charming, I'm sure," your uncle answers her skeptically and leans back on his chair, "But I dare say burning the majority of my non-work clothing was pretty excessive, no?"

"Details, details..." Catherine says and waves her hand dismissively. "But how about your niece's day then? It is just unfair to force her to listen to our ramblings when she must have had such an eventful day herself. Why, she seemed to be anxious about something when she stepped in?" she continues rhetorically and turns to look at you with your uncle.

Damn.

What do you do?

[] Tell them about your day.

[] Ask more details about their day.

[] Talk more with your uncle/Cathy.

[] Finish your dinner as fast as possible.

[] Write-in.

Hmm, writing Cathy is surprisingly fun.

[X] Tell them about your day.

I wonder if this the best time to reveal our magical girl status, I mean having Cathy here would help with the emotional distance.
Besides I would not be surprise if she have some links with magical girls.

[X] Tell them about your day.

Never show weakness in the presence of an enemy.

Okay, I think that, in the next vote, we should tell the uncle about the MG business. Maybe after Catherine leaves, but we should tell him sooner rather than later. This is a perfect opportunity.

Chapter 2 - Court 2
[X] Tell them about your day.
-[X] Glaze over the part where you clung to Kishi like a frightened child

"Uh, i-it was pretty good... I think?" you weakly stammer out to the pair, trying to think what to say. You don't really get interrogated about your day by strangers often, so you're treading on slightly unfamiliar territory here. Luckily, this day has been a fairly normal and non-magical one, so you won't have to go through the effort of hiding anything important.

...Well maybe with the sole exception of that one part where you clung to Kishi like a frightened child. You'd like to think that you're a grown girl now, thank you very much!

"I-I mean, we had a nice day at school, and I learned a lot... err, even though I can't remember much of it?" you continue to go over the events of your day, feeling increasingly more confident about talking.

"B-but after school was finally over, Kishi and I went over to Ariane's for the afternoon. We ended up playing Shiritori with each other and eating through these delicious chocolate cookies..." you say and pause for a moment to look pleadingly at your uncle, "Uh, d-do you have a recipe for them, uncle? I can describe how they looked like, if that's a problem?"

"We'll see," he tells you and nods speculatively. You cheer inwardly at the not-denial.

"S-so, after a while Evelyn arrived too, and we... we, uh... toldeachotherghostories," you blurt out hastily with a pink-tinted face and shrink a little on your seat. Those had not been the most dignified moments of your life... But to be honest, even if you hate being scared, it is not something you can regret, not with the amount of fun all of you ended up having.

"B-but after those two traitors," you say more enthusiastically than before, emphasizing the important parts, "scared me... we ended up in a plush-fight that I and Kishi won! Evelyn got hiccups from all the laughing, though, so we had to take a break before continuing. We didn't do much after that, because I had to come home for dinner at that point."

"Maa~, sounds like you had a great deal of fun then," your uncle note with a smile, "I think you should also bring Ariane over for a visit soon, Tamiko. I would like to have a chance to see her with my own eyes. Hmm... maybe the Big Boss himself would come along if I prepared a formal dinner for everyone?"

With that the conversation devolves first into a hypothetical and humor-tinted talk about a possible dinner party and to plain chit-chat. While you try to participate in the small talk, most of your attention is given to your dinner. You haven't had the chance to eat any proper food today after you had lunch.

Still, you don't really mind the chatter and occasional questions about your friends and school. With neither one of the adults teasing you about your imaginary relationship status, it almost feels nice on some level to just talk and eat dinner with them.
...it's almost like eating with family...
But it is still pretty late to the evening, and Catherine eventually has to excuse herself to head home for the night. She pats you on the head with an encouraging smile before rising from the table, and only chuckles lightly when you just pout indignantly in response.

The apartment falls silent again as she leaves, escorted outside by your uncle. A quick look at the clock hanging on the wall reveals that it is nearing 9 pm already. It looks like you have some time left for getting things done before going to sleep.

What do you do?

[] ...Take your chances with Kimiko again and call her.

[] Make good of your promise to contact Ami and check how she is doing.

[] Contact Evelyn.

[] Telepathy Kishi/Ariane.

[] Talk with uncle once he comes back.

[] Do your homework, maybe?

[] Read your books.

[] It has been a tiring day, just go to sleep.

[] Write-in.

Whatever you choose, don't just pile all the options in the vote. It is probably also obvious that some of those options will start a longer scene.

Does anyone remember how much Grief we have at the moment? I want to try Kimiko but it might come with Grief cost.

[X] ...Take your chances with Kimiko again and call her.

Slow but steady wins the race.

Either way, after this we should confront our uncle.

Since this is not a particularly time-constrained moment...
Tamiko grief: 217/2000

Tamiko seeds:
Amanda 2290/3000
Lilibeth 1565/2000

Also, a slight note from QM: you might seriously want to start hunting more actively to stock up on grief seeds. Taking a look at your history, the only active hunt you have done so far led you to Danah. The rest were found on accident, albeit often when touring around the city on other business.

Although, I suppose you could make some Meguca groups jealous with that kind of track record of finding witches :V? Not many have such easy time after all.

[X] Make good of your promise to contact Ami and check how she is doing.
I like keeping my promises.

Still, what does everyone think about telling our Uncle about the MG business after this? I think we should get around to doing it before anything else major pops up, personally.
