Chapter 2 - Court 4
[X] Talk more with Ami.
-[x] These past two days.
-[x] Memories.
[x] Decline...
-[X] ...You have promised you would be elsewhere then, sorry.

You groan quietly and rub your forehead. As much as you'd like to go see Ami, earlier commitments take priority. You kind of did promise Ariane that all of you would be hanging out tomorrow too, and it doesn't feel right to you to go back on that, even if it would be for a good reason.

"S-sorry, I've kind of promised to be elsewhere tomorrow," you apologetically tell Ami, hoping that she won't offended about this "But I could come over later this week or something, if that's okay? I-I haven't really planned much else for the coming week..."

There is a brief pause of silence on the other end, and you swear you can hear a faint sigh when she finally answers, "Oh... I guess it's okay if you've already promised someone... But if you can find the time later, that'd be nice too!"

"Yeah, sorry about this," you continue and take a small pause. An awkward silence falls between you two, with neither one of you sure what to say next. However, it is you who eventually breaks the pregnant pause, "So uh, visits aside... how have you been holding up after that hospital visit? Have you been busy?"

Ami seems to be glad about the change of topic and eagerly takes the bait. "Well, I haven't gotten much of anything done here to be honest. Having to stay on a hospital bed does put a damper on your options, after all. But otherwise, I can't really complain!" she laughs a bit at the last part, "Well, how about you? How has life been treating you?"

"Hmm, it has been a bit busy here," you say as you try to figure a way to summarize the last two days without mentioning magic, "School has given me work, but it's nothing I can't handle! Otherwise, I've just been hanging out and having fun with friends I guess... Well, there was this one bout of drama between us, but we've mostly sorted it out."

"Huh, drama?" Ami hastily asks you, sounding concerned all of sudden, "What happened?"

"W-well, uh..." you hesitate a bit, no entirely sure how to put it, "...A friend of mine got into an accident. It's nothing dangerous, don't worry! But... she was pretty upset and hurt over that afterwards, so we had to talk it out... and I'm still not sure she is entirely over it."

"Oh, that's sad to hear... But if it was an accident, she really shouldn't blame herself."

"I know," you say and sigh, "she's mostly fine now after the talk, but I think the incident still lingers in her mind."

"Hmm, I don't know... Maybe you should talk about it with her again at some point? Offer reassurance to show that you really mean whatever you talked about? Time alone can't heal everything," Ami suggests you. You can also hear the front door to your home open and close as your uncle comes back.

"I-I guess..."

"I can't say I know what happened... but don't let it keep you down. You're too moe to waste your time by worrying!"

"HEY!" you yell indignantly and rise to sit on your bed, "D-don't call me that! Its... it's a lie and you know it!"

"Hmm? Nah, definitely a Tamimoe. Forever and always," she teases you back, before turning more serious again, "But still, it was great to hear about you, Tamiko. I hope to see you around!"

"Huh, you too, Ami..." you say, "I will be calling you later too."

"Hmm, thank you. But, bye! Have a good night!" she exclaims brightly.

"Y-you too, Ami. Bye!" you tell her and close the call.

You fall back on the bed to think. You still have plenty of time left for whatever you want to do.

What do you do?

[] Call Kimiko.

[] Go talk with uncle.

[] Do your damn homework.

[] Read your books.

[] Write-in.

===

And just two weeks ago Tamiko had no trouble finding free spots on her schedule :V. How times change...

I really think we should talk to our uncle about meguca stuff. This is a good opportunity and if we don't do it now there's bound to be more awkward disappearing or running around at odd times that we can't explain before we get another good chance. And really, unless we want to commit to never telling him about it--which I'm pretty sure isn't gonna happen, especially since Ariane's father advised us to talk about it--the sooner we tell him, the better.

Not actually making a vote though because I'm not sure how we should approach the subject to start...

[X] Go talk with your uncle.
-[X] tell him you have something important to show him, then transform.

Aside from being the ultimate ninja, Tamiko could also be the ultimate slacker :V.

But seriously, there is a reason I keep putting 'do the homework' options there and am not planning on stopping that any time soon.
That is slightly ominous, but I feel that this takes priority. We can always do our damn homework after we tell our uncle.

Come on people! This is literally a perfect time to tell him! If he's going to keep presenting us with this option, then obviously we have time before it becomes a major issue, whatever this issue may be.

...And this day will be remembered as the one where I managed to cause a panic by telling people to do their homework :V

Edit. Also, the second post should now contain some changes to Ariane's abilities and the addition of the prototype partial cleanse. Both are considered implemented as of this point.

Sadly, we'll never find out because apparently the quest ends the minute Homu loops in. *grumblegrumblewantedtoseeTamikickWalpurgisassgrumblegrumble*

Hmm.

Quest-specific headcanon: The way Homura obtains that much large-scale military hardware without causing an international incident is that she has a folder of schematics, acquires a huge supply of scrap metal and Grief Seeds, then hires Kishi to manufacture everything. :V

Well, if you make it to that point... I kind of have to make good of my promise of you getting to fuck up the canon timeline, now don't I?

And I've always kind of wanted a shot at modifying Wally... :V You know, for FUN and all...

She probably stole it over the course of multiple timelines.
And caused several international incidents that she just looped out of. Though stealing the aircraft carrier didn't cause one, because everyone was too busy wondering how the hell that was even possible to point fingers.

I like to imagine some extremely nervous army general getting reamed by the Prime Minister. "How the hell do you lose half a ton of plastic explosives?"

Ugh. I don't know what to vote for.
Well let's put it this way. While we were told that it probably isn't a good idea to ignore homework forever, it's not an immediate problem either. Unfortunately, we keep getting interrupted when we have moments to tell the uncle the truth. This is literally perfect right now. And if the homework is the issue, we can do it after we explain everything to the uncle.

Ehh. I know people have suggested that but I don't really buy it as fitting Homuhomu psychology. By the canon timeline her minute-by-minute determination to keep trying is pretty much the only thing that keeps her going at all rather than witching out, which kind of precludes intentionally doing anything that would fuck up the current timeline (which includes things like causing international incidents, because possibly starting a war in the worst case scenario is not a good way to keep Madoka safe) or anything that involves planning based on the possibility of the current loop failing.

Unless she happened to be forced to restart a loop early for other reasons after stocking up, I don't think she'd ever not throw everything she currently had at Walpurgisnacht.

Also homework is an on-going thing that we need to be doing and is (relatively) easy to make time for since it doesn't involve awkward secrets or risking death fighting horrible monsters. Telling uncle is something that needs to be done once, and the sooner the better.

While I agree from a psychological standpoint, from a practical one it seems odd that she'd be able to steal this much and not cause serious problems, if she had to steal that much every timeline.

And agreed. Now to get other people to do so as well...
