[x] Hug Evelyn, and don't let go.
[x] Explain to Evelyn what a Witch Kiss is, and how it works.
[x] Please don't go. You're my friend, no matter what. That instance was not you, but the witch. You are innocent. The witch is not.
[x] Please, if you want to voice out your concerns, I'm willing to listen.
Your friends? Being a bother to you? That doesn't sound correct and in fact you have a firm stance on such an opinion. It is called them being wrong. As such, you tighten your hug on Evelyn and pull her slightly closer to yourself. Evelyn shouldn't feel like that about herself, and you need to make sure she understands that.
And as it happens, hugging someone is a very good way to do that. Well, at least that is what you think. It is also a very convenient to prevent her from escaping.
"E-Evelyn, you don't need to say such things about yourself," you begin with a low voice and take a deep breath. You are not exactly an expert on the subject, and you need to explain what you understand as smoothly as possible, "That was all because of a witch kiss. I-it is when a witch spreads their curse to people, causing them to do or think of horrible things they wouldn't do normally, up to and including s-suicide or murder... "
You look up and try to meet the blonde's gaze, only to find it extremely elusive. You sigh quietly and squeeze the girl a bit before continuing, "Y-you remember those people from the park when we fought the airplane witch? H-how they seemed to be under a spell? It's like that… S-so please don't go… You're my friend, no matter what. T-that instance was not you, but the witch. Y-you are innocent, Evelyn, the witch is not."
As a finishing gesture, you push your head against Evelyn's body and mumble to her, "P-please, if you want to voice out your concerns, I'm willing to listen."
You find yourself almost surprised to hear Evelyn answer you almost immediately. However, her speech is fast, panicked even, and her voice keeps shaking slightly as she desperately tries to argue back, "But that's the thing… How can you be sure it is not something I'd think without a witch kiss?"
Your stare turns into one of confusion. What is she getting at, she is not making any sense! However, you don't say anything yet but keep looking at your friend as she sneaks her arms through your hug by pushing herself into a looser position and grips her head.
"Even.... Even now I can remember what I said, what I let out… And I hate it and find it so appalling." she says before pausing for a moment. You can actually feel Evelyn start trembling in your arms as she continues, sounding like she could start crying any moment, "Yet, when thinking about the moment now, I… I remember standing behind everything I said with full conviction."
You frown at the sudden burst. You are not the best person to ask when it comes to witch kisses, but maybe what she described is just an aftereffect or something? Regardless, Evelyn goes on without stopping, "And even now, no matter how I look at it, there is still this small, nagging feeling like it wasn't wrong to do such a thing… I… I can't even look at you, any one of you… Because what does it say about me if I can say that to my friends and then feel like it was a good thing?"
It is not easy to tell, but you think Evelyn has genuinely burst into tears near the end as her voice turns increasingly incoherent. She is even trying to curl up on the bed you are lying on and her speech becomes increasingly more distant, more quiet, "But I guess… that's just the way it goes... No matter how hard I try…."
What do you do?

"I just always manage to screw up these things..."
A quiet sob escapes Evelyn's mouth. What do you do?
