You nod at Ariane and assure her that it is okay, "D-don't worry, the aides weren't really that bad. T-they just faded into the background and stayed out of the way yesterday." You pause for a bit and start to think where exactly to today. There isn't that much left of this part of the city to tour, nor is there enough time to go to the main parts of the city or the neighboring towns.
So a choice should probably be something in the town itself. You take a sweeping look at everyone, and suggest the first things that comes into your mind, "Uh, h-how does an ice cream bar sound for the first stop? I-I mean, who doesn't love ice cream? A-and after that, something else."
Well, you seem to have Ariane's full support at least, seeing that the girl starts nodding furiously at the suggestion and makes her opinion clear quite loudly, "Ice cream! What are we even waiting for?"
Kishi mumbles something quietly again, and nods slowly while keeping her eyes glued to the ground. Guess that's a yes then? You turn to look at Evelyn who just shrugs her shoulders in response, "Eh, why not. After the gym class today, I'd say it is pretty good idea. Still, feels a bit weird to come over here and go back to the town almost immediately."
You start rubbing your neck awkwardly, "Y-yeah, sorry about that, but it seems that Ariane is in full exploration mode today, and I think it will be more fun if we to the city in one big group anyways."
"Yes," Ariane pipes in, "The town is more fun that the house! I'll go tell them to get the car ready, so let's get inside."
You and Evelyn share a quick look before grabbing Kishi and following after the happy girl
The four of you make your way to the manor with Ariane leading the way. Upon reaching the doorway, she picks up a couple of large flashlights laid down on top of the shoe stand and hands them out to you.
"I'll be going to inform the aides now! Feel free to look around, I won't take long," the girl says and heads out to the other wing with one of the flashlights lit on her arm. The illumination provided by it is higher than some of the normal lamps you've seen in your apartments.
Next to you, Kishi and Evelyn look around them curiously. They both seem amazed about the insides of the mansion. Well, you suppose the paintings, tables and heavy ornaments might do that. It is like being transported to some past European noble house with a flashlight as your only device from modern times.
Come to think of it, that seems like a start to some kind of horror game. Four people stuck in a dark mansion with only flashlights to keep the light going before the darkness would inevitably swallow them all…
...You're getting a bit derailed there. Not that your friends really noticed as Evelyn is curiously going through the finer details of the entrance hall together with Kishi. They don't have much time to do that before Ariane calls out from the other wing, telling you to get there.
You find yourself mildly amused at seeing their gawking reactions to finding the way to the basement garage. You suppose it is not every day you come across something like that. Still, you are all soon packed in the large vehicle, heading to the town. This time you only have the purple-haired woman watching over Ariane and driving the car to the town. She isn't very talkative, but doesn't seem to care too much about this task.
The four of you, on the other hand, take the chance to talk with each other. Mostly about the upcoming day. No one really seems to have any strong opinions about what to do for the coming day. Ariane is okay with pretty much anything, Evelyn is mostly in this to hang out and Kishi doesn't have anything to say. Talk about indecisiveness...
The mall itself is incredibly busy this time of day, and takes you a while to find a cafe that still has any free tables left for you to sit down and relax. Contrasting the last time you were eating somewhere in the town, Ariane insists on paying for all of you this time. None of you really complain, though, free ice cream is free ice cream after all.
The aide seems to have taken another table further away and is sitting in the company of some red-haired- oh wait, that's the other aide in civilian garments. They sit there and talk with each other over cups of coffee.
Your attention doesn't stay there for long, as the ice ream cups are brought to your table. Seems that you have picked a good place to go to as the portions are quite large for their price.

Upon receiving the bowl of ice cream a sudden flash of inspiration strikes you out of the blue. This is the perfect chance to do something utterly stupid and fun and you are not going to miss it. Before anyone even gets a chance to pick up their spoon, you cough into your fist to get your friends' attention, "O-okay, please don't start eating yet. I-I have an idea."
All three of your friends turn to look at you with various levels of curiosity. You smile weakly under their focused attention and continue, "A-as you can see the portions here are pretty huge for all of us. S-so what about we have an ice cream eating competition? T-the fastest one to finish the bowl wins-"
"I'm in," Evelyn exclaims almost immediately, cutting you off mid-sentence, and smiles mischievously, "so, what's in for the winner then?"
"I-I don't know… But we can figure that out later!" you answer unsurely. It's not like you planned for this beforehand or anything. "M-maybe nothing in particular? J-just some fun and bragging rights!"
"Perfectly acceptable. Kishi, Ariane, are you in?" Evelyn says and turns to look at the two other girls.
"Well, I guess it sounds fun… Why would you want to eat all that ice cream so fast though?" Ariane asks her, sounding more curious than concerned. The latter just rolls her eyes amusedly at the remark, "For fun of course!"
Ariane seems confused about that, so Evelyn starts explaining, "It's the little things that make living fun. Small things, often stupid and spontaneous, add color to your life. Sure you can eat the ice cream slow and steady like always. But you can also turn it into a pointless competition just for the heck of it. And who knows, sometime later you can look back and say: 'Well that was stupid, but I don't regret any of it'."
It is pretty clear Ariane still has no idea what to think of that. However, she nods at the explanation and picks up her spoon. You yourself have no idea what to think of it either, and you turn to the bit reluctant Kishi, "Are you coming in, Kishi?"
She looks at your smiling face with an unsure expression, before nodding slowly with a faint hint of a blush of embarrassment adorning her cheeks, "Y-yes, i-it sounds nice". You offer her an encouraging smile in return before taking a look at everyone, and starting the first Mitakihara Ice Cream Eating Grand Prix, "O-okay, everyone ready? Set. Go!"
All four of you dive into your bowls of ice cream, each trying to make it to the bottom first. You are pretty sure Evelyn is on the lead with you close behind. Kishi is and Ariane are both doing rather well too, even if they are slower than you.
Unfortunately, Kishi is the first one to set aside her spoon and grab her forehead, "Ugh, t-too fast..." her face is twisted into a grimace as she rubs her head with both of her hands. She still has over half of her ice cream left
Okay, one down. Maybe you actually have a chance here-
A splitting pain hits your forehead and you drop your spoon. You close your eyes and try to concentrate the pain away, but to no avail. One would think you'd have learned the wonders of brain freeze by now… But here you are now, struggling to keep the pain in check and put up a strong front despite having already lost.
So the competition turn into a duel between Ariane and Evelyn. Unfortunately, it doesn't even last long as Evelyn drops onto the table soon after you, groaning about having eaten too much. Ariane takes a curious look at three of you, and closes her eyes briefly with a merry smile.
She returns to her portion that she finishes calmly, almost gloatingly. When she is done with the last spoonful, she sets the bowl aside with a content sigh and looks at all three of you, "Hey, it actually was fun!"
"Well, yeah, I suppose... but I never want to see ice cream again," Evelyn exclaims almost melodramatically, head still stuck on the table. You kind of want to agree with her there, the brain freeze -induced headache making it difficult to think.
"Well, I can take yours if you don't need it?" Ariane suggests. After a moment's consideration Evelyn pushes her bowl in front of the other girl, a gesture she accepts delightedly. Sharing the current thought about ice cream, you move your bowl to her too.
"We should do that more often!" she exclaims with a loud squee, "I got to do something stupid, but still got some ice cream to slowly enjoy! I think this is what victory tastes like!"
You can almost hear Evelyn's eyes twitch from her position and decide to move the conversation elsewhere just in case, "Uh, a-anyways, do you have anything planned for the weekend? I-I was thinking of spending another day together, watching something. S-some kind of movie, perhaps?"
"You know, we could probably hit the cinema then? Getting to watch a movie from a proper white screen is a lot more fun in my opinion. There is always something good in the theaters," Evelyn brings up and raises her head from the table. She is still grimacing a little, but seems to be mostly fine otherwise.
"A-are you sure?" Kishi asks, "I-I often hear c-complains that there is n-never anything good there…" the girls blushes faintly as all four of you turn to look at ther.
"I-I sometimes l-listen to the i-idle chatter in the c-class room" she hastily explains and brings her hands in front of her to placate you.
"Hmm, I don't think I've been to a cinema before…" Ariane muses thoughtfully and nods, "But it sounds wonderful! I like that idea already."
"Well, that's two votes for that suggestion! What about you, Tamiko?" Evelyn asks you.
"Err, well, maybe?" you say unsurely, "I-it's not like we're setting anything to stone yet, just throwing around ideas of what to do…"
You pause for a moment to think of a diversionary topic before continuing. It is for the better if you don't get too fixated on a single pan just yet. "B-besides, who knows if something else comes up… A-also, I think I have an idea for what to do next! T-there's that abandoned amusement park a bit further away..."
"Say, do you mean that place where you practice your Magic powers?" Evelyn asks. You don't get a chance to answer as Ariane rushes in a with a question of her own.
"Huh, you aren't a Magical Girl?" she asks, sounding honestly surprised about it.
Evelyn's smile falters.
Evelyn rubs her neck apologetically in response, "No, not yet. I'm… thinking about it, but at the moment I'm just your average muggle on the street."
"Oh, here I thought… Well, never mind, what is this abandoned amusement park then? Is it big? Is there anything amazing there?" Ariane asks and turns to look at you expectantly.
"I-it's exactly t-that," Kishi suddenly says in between eating spoonfuls of her ice cream, "I-it is also a good place for t-training with magic in peace. A-and I think it might be for the b-better to take the c-chance to practice with you now, a-all things considered.... Y-you'll probably like the p-place regardless."
You nod at that, "Y-yeah, I was thinking of taking the chance to practice with everyone and also just tour around there. I-I don't think I've explored the deeper parts either, so it might be a good area to find some general excitement. I-it's like an adventure!"
Evelyn seems a bit unsure about the whole idea, but relents upon seeing Ariane's face brighten in excitement at the mere mention of adventure. Besides, it is three to one vote. She's outvoted here.
"Adventure? Amazing… I'll have to call father to get a permission, though. I think he should be warned about this," Ariane notes, "But first, ice cream!"

As it turns out, Ariane's father wasn't all that difficult to convince even when he was still in work. He seemed to agree with the reasoning of Ariane needing to practice her powers somewhere safe. The driver on the other hand was less happy about having to drive you to another part of town, and a closed off property. Especially since she was told to stay near the gate.
Fortunately, she doesn't start arguing too much with that decision, even if she turns quite grumpy about having to let her charge out of her sight.
You four make it to the park itself hastily while the Sun is still up in the sky. You'll probably have maybe an hour before it has set. Still plenty of time to do something. If you happen to need light, you always have Ariane with those floating orbs of hers.
Speaking of Ariane, she is utterly mesmerized by the sight of the area. The various abandoned and vegetation-covered attractions would probably be enough to keep her occupied for an entire day if given the chance.
Kishi doesn't seem to care too much about the place itself, being already familiar with it. Evelyn has been there a grand total of single time and is curiously looking around, even if she seems a bit bored otherwise.

"We should do that more often!" she exclaims with a loud squee, "I got to do something stupid, but still got some ice cream to slowly enjoy! I think this is what victory tastes like!"
You can almost hear Evelyn's eyes twitch from her position and decide to move the conversation elsewhere just in case, "Uh, a-anyways, do you have anything planned for the weekend? I-I was thinking of spending another day together, watching something. S-some kind of movie, perhaps?"
"You know, we could probably hit the cinema then? Getting to watch a movie from a proper white screen is a lot more fun in my opinion. There is always something good in the theaters," Evelyn brings up and raises her head from the table. She is still grimacing a little, but seems to be mostly fine otherwise.
"A-are you sure?" Kishi asks, "I-I often hear c-complains that there is n-never anything good there…" the girls blushes faintly as all four of you turn to look at ther.
"I-I sometimes l-listen to the i-idle chatter in the c-class room" she hastily explains and brings her hands in front of her to placate you.
"Hmm, I don't think I've been to a cinema before…" Ariane muses thoughtfully and nods, "But it sounds wonderful! I like that idea already."
"Well, that's two votes for that suggestion! What about you, Tamiko?" Evelyn asks you.
"Err, well, maybe?" you say unsurely, "I-it's not like we're setting anything to stone yet, just throwing around ideas of what to do…"
You pause for a moment to think of a diversionary topic before continuing. It is for the better if you don't get too fixated on a single pan just yet. "B-besides, who knows if something else comes up… A-also, I think I have an idea for what to do next! T-there's that abandoned amusement park a bit further away..."
"Say, do you mean that place where you practice your Magic powers?" Evelyn asks. You don't get a chance to answer as Ariane rushes in a with a question of her own.
"Huh, you aren't a Magical Girl?" she asks, sounding honestly surprised about it.
Evelyn's smile falters.
Evelyn rubs her neck apologetically in response, "No, not yet. I'm… thinking about it, but at the moment I'm just your average muggle on the street."
"Oh, here I thought… Well, never mind, what is this abandoned amusement park then? Is it big? Is there anything amazing there?" Ariane asks and turns to look at you expectantly.
"I-it's exactly t-that," Kishi suddenly says in between eating spoonfuls of her ice cream, "I-it is also a good place for t-training with magic in peace. A-and I think it might be for the b-better to take the c-chance to practice with you now, a-all things considered.... Y-you'll probably like the p-place regardless."
You nod at that, "Y-yeah, I was thinking of taking the chance to practice with everyone and also just tour around there. I-I don't think I've explored the deeper parts either, so it might be a good area to find some general excitement. I-it's like an adventure!"
Evelyn seems a bit unsure about the whole idea, but relents upon seeing Ariane's face brighten in excitement at the mere mention of adventure. Besides, it is three to one vote. She's outvoted here.
"Adventure? Amazing… I'll have to call father to get a permission, though. I think he should be warned about this," Ariane notes, "But first, ice cream!"

As it turns out, Ariane's father wasn't all that difficult to convince even when he was still in work. He seemed to agree with the reasoning of Ariane needing to practice her powers somewhere safe. The driver on the other hand was less happy about having to drive you to another part of town, and a closed off property. Especially since she was told to stay near the gate.
Fortunately, she doesn't start arguing too much with that decision, even if she turns quite grumpy about having to let her charge out of her sight.
You four make it to the park itself hastily while the Sun is still up in the sky. You'll probably have maybe an hour before it has set. Still plenty of time to do something. If you happen to need light, you always have Ariane with those floating orbs of hers.
Speaking of Ariane, she is utterly mesmerized by the sight of the area. The various abandoned and vegetation-covered attractions would probably be enough to keep her occupied for an entire day if given the chance.
Kishi doesn't seem to care too much about the place itself, being already familiar with it. Evelyn has been there a grand total of single time and is curiously looking around, even if she seems a bit bored otherwise.
