Once Upon a Lie (Disney's Villain's Victorious/Lies of P) (Yes, Really)

Let's be honest.
Yzma isn't that bad, and she is legitimately a better ruler for her people than Kuzco. At least the Kuzco before all the character growth that she and the citizens do not know about.
Kronk never really needed redeeming, he kinda did that himself in his own movie anyway, he was just doing a job.

I'm more curious how will our military develop, we don't have many people and our puppet industry is very low (nonexistent).

We have stalkers and we can mainly focus on churning out more for quality or save them for an elite force.

Mayhaps as an alternative to Ergo we will turn to a technology that hasn't been explored as much (cause why would ypu when you can use ergo)
Steam
(
yes ive been playing frostpunk 2 a lot lol)

For example, which King is going to be most interested in what our Puppet tech is capable of? Personally my money's on Elsa; if she ever finds out what a P-Organ is capable of then she's going to be very invested in getting her hands on one ASAP
Just to point this out real quick, Venigni has no idea how to make a P-Organ.

While he is absolutely a genius, Gepetto was in a league of his own as far as brilliance go. I mean, he was also psychotic, but a genius nonetheless. You can learn how to create one. It's just going to take time.
We do need to make clear for people to realize that being from a souls-like setting with full powered protags doesn't mean as much as it should be when we are here on DVV, this place is SCARY.
Honestly, OG DVV scares me a lot more than Gridlocked. Gridlocked has a lot of powerful psychos and weirdos, but a bunch of the villains there are a lot more reasonable than in DVV. It being just the US also helps in it being less "FUCKED" than OG.

This is not including Europe OG DVV which is a powderkeg waiting to blow up.

Do you have a full crossover list of what you are including in this quest? Are you excluding any groups from the OG DVV?

Also where is the player faction located in the world? I think I missed that.

You forgot Sardinia.
so I did
Anyway I was just replaying the game and I just realized something
TRAINS
we have extremely fast trains
The fastest trains in the world according to the bits of lore around the station
Well have to build the tracks but trains will be a massive boon
Don't know exactly how fast they go but considering the fastest steam locomotive record is 126 mph I'd assume they are pretty speedy

I'd say the weakest King in Europe would have to be Grimhilde, but even she would be a problem.
She may be weak Stat-wise, but she has connections.

I think, in terms of "weak because they are unknown/have no allies", we'd have the Coachman.

And honestly, it would be our safest bet to take him out first: very few people know he and Pleasure Island exist, he isn't interested in the Mainland Conflicts, he does not have allies aside from HJ, Gideon and Stromboli.

So, if he were to fall, it would be a relatively minor blip on the international radar.

Also it's a moraly right thing
As we discussed before if we repair the watchman
He's going to have FUN with the bastard
As in pound hik into a crater

Grimhilde is an entirely different kind of dangerous. She has Diplomacy and Intrigue in the bag and is no slouch in Occult or Learning. She has a magic spy mirror that can answer pretty much any question, a network of mirrors in her lands for communication, and spends her free time researching alchemy and potions. It's no exaggeration to say to never trust any food served around her.
She can't out punch or out magic someone in a fair fight....but she will never let herself be put in a fair fight.

We also must consider that we may have to ally with some "morally grey" factions
Realpolitik and all
We may be a bastion of hope im a dark world but we are alone
The enemy of my enemy is my acquaintance

Sophia: Socialize: DC Variable/ Roll 46

Eugenie: Be Social: DC Variable/ Roll 14

Alidoro: Making Friends: DC 25/ Roll 23+5(Omake)=28 Bare Success

P watched as the runaway cart flew down from his grasp, sliding down the stairs. He picked himself off the ground, Gemini groaning from his little cage on P's belt as he peeked over the railing of the second floor.

Just in time to see the baggage cart full of supplies about to hit Eugenie and Alidoro who had been in the middle of a conversation.

He focuses on his own time, bringing back the clock by just a few minutes, and felt the 'wind' leaves his lungs as the world disappeared into a mass of blue and he found himself at the end of the hall, the baggage cart still in the closet.

"Well, talk about dodging a bullet." Gemini chirped from his cage, and P just nodded along.

It would have been really, really bad if Eugenie and Alidoro had been hurt. He liked the two of them. They were his friends. Especially since Hugo had taken Alidoro's name instead of that Parrot.

"Oh, you're going to talk to them?" Gemini asked as P walked across the hallway, taking the stairs down as the two young people spoke. He had noticed that Eugenie had looked… stricken by something.

Hugo had been fussing over her, obviously worried about something, but P wasn't going to eavesdrop on them, even though he wanted to. Venigni said that listening on people's conversations was something that people didn't like, so he was going to have to be careful not to get caught when he did it. That way, he didn't have to hurt anyone's feelings for trying to learn more on how to help them.

He opened the door to Gemini's cage, and he whispered to the cricket. "Could you get on one of them and see if you hear anything?"
"Eh, sure buddy." Gemini said a little less enthusiastic than he usually did, jumping off P's shoulder and beginning to move around the room towards P's two young friends.

"Oh, why, hello there! How are you doing my friend?" Alidoro said with a bit of force behind his enthusiasm. Even though he was wearing that big dog mask that covered his whole head, P knew that Hugo's eyes were probably wide as plates underneath it.

Eugenie quickly put something behind her back with one hand, using another one to rub at her eyes with her back turned to P.

P, carefully didn't say anything, or react to it, he just stared at his two friends, and pointed up towards the second floor. "Could you two give me a hand? There's a lot of rooms here in the hotel with… stuff that people never came back for. Could you help? Please?" He added the last word at the end, remembering that Vegnini had said it was polite to say it when people asked for something.

"Why, of course, my friend!" Alidoro said, turning to Eugenie with a far gentler tone. "Eugenie? Do you wish to help?" The young woman finishes scrubbing at her eyes, and offers a small smile. It was… the same one that she had given P when he had brought back that letter from her brother.

Oh.

That's probably what it had been about.

Now P was feeling a strange burning at the back of his neck for some reason.

He didn't know what it was. He didn't like it either. And his face felt hot too.

The rest of the day went by fast, as P just threw himself into work on the Hotel.

Taking old luggage that the remaining puppets and Polledina had put into suitcases, taking them all down into the basement to be organized later. That wasn't where the work ended though. Oh no, there was honestly so much more to do all over the hotel. When the alchemists had attacked, a bunch of furniture had been destroyed, the kitchen had been raided, rooms had been torn apart, and the wines in the cellar had been dumped all over the lobby floor. For some reason.

Wouldn't it have been better to just drink it? P didn't understand what had been the point of just throwing wine on the floor. All it did was make a mess that he had to mop up… oh.

Oh, that was the point of throwing the wine, wasn't it?

Well, that was just mean.

There were even documents around that Antonia and Polledina had neatly written out and safely stored away in safes. Sales that had started to peter off in more recent years, expenses that had been thinned out as they had to fire more and more staff as business slowly declined.

P read through them all, memorizing the numbers with a frown as equations that he never learned slowly formed in his head. Were those… from Carlo? He wasn't Carlo, like Geppetto had wanted him to be. But… sometimes, like now, there were flashes here and there of things that he had never learned.

Which… was fine for now.

"It's not every day that I find you lost in thought." A light voice said behind him, Sophia smiling at him as she stepped into the room.

P just nods at her, not commenting either way. She laughs at him, but he doesn't mind it. It was nice when she laughed.

"I felt you do something earlier. Everything alright?"

"I almost hit my friends with something. I didn't want them to get hurt." P said, and Sophia hummed in approval.

"Is that why I found Eugenie downstairs, elbow deep in the old washing machines, and Alidoro trying to find some replacement furniture in the attic?" P nodded.

"They looked like they were uncomfortable, and I thought doing something might help." P said.

"And why did you think that?" P frowned, and tilted his head up. Huh.

"I don't know. I just did." P admitted, and turned back to the sheets of paper in his hands, trying to see just how much he was going to have to order whenever everything started to move around again. He'd have to hire some staff to help run it, wouldn't he?

Her thin hands wrapped around the papers in his hand and gently put them on the desk. "Now, one thing that you have to keep in mind Pinocchio." She had been the one who had given him that name. Something about the staff that he used reminding her of a 'pine tree'. "There is more to life than just working, and you've been working on the hotel for at least the entire day. At the very least, Eugenie and Hugo both need to rest, right?"

Ah… that's just. They weren't like him. They actually needed to stop and rest sometimes instead of just catching their breath for a few minutes like he did.

"Ok. So what do we do now?" He had never really just… stopped before.

She smiled at him. "Come to the lobby. Some of the people are in there playing games and playing one of the records you collected."

Sophia all but dragged him downstairs, where, yes, there were a lot of people hanging around in the Lobby. There was some dirt and mud in the lobby, but just in the entrance. Pollendina was taking people's coats, and walking around with drinks, ever dedicated to his duties even though… he was gone.

And, there, at the back, he could see Alidoro wearing his mask, Eugenie next to him, as he spoke to some of the people at the table.

Eugenie still looked nervous… but she didn't look as bad as she did earlier.

The 'chink' of a gate closing signaled that Gemini had come back. "Hey there pal, I got to hear some good stuff."

"No… it's fine. I don't need to hear it. They look like they were fine." With that, P followed Sophia to a nearby table, where he sat down and just… listened to the people around him. He'd never really done this before. Sat down with so many people that he didn't know.

It was nice.

Alright, I'll see about finishing up with Turn 1 Results after this. Don't know if I can get it all done since I have a bunch of actions to add, along with finishing up a bunch of other informational posts that are in the works, but I'll see what i can do.

Will we also have Rival Reports, or are those locked?

I think they are blocked because we don't know anything from outside our territory, much less do we have a spy network to send us information, so how would we know anything new?

Heck, we don't even have a spy network in our own city yet.

@Xolsis you forgot to put the actions that this interlude refers to, as you did with the last one.

Nope. You spent the last two months locked in Krat trying to cleanse it and build up your forces. Plus, you don't truly have any scouting troops to go out and search.

Aaand fixed.

Good update! I like that P is figuring out that sometimes he doesn't need to know what's going on in order to help his friends. I also guess that Hugo told Eugenie about the whole thing with finding "Alidoro" dead and burying him?

Actually I would have thought it was to light it all on fire.

Huh.....Gemini isn't listed on P's Hero Sheet at all as an auxiliary.

Pinocchio Stewardship Rolls: 1+2+6=9

Not sure what this means? P's Stewardship was 5.

City Loyalty +10
Puppet and Human tensions eased.

Hm, are these for a mechanic in an Informational we don't have access to yet?

Good to see everyone getting along, and fixing up the hotel! Too bad a hotel can't be run during a city wide emergency. It also is rather dependent on access to guests outside Krat, so I wonder if Hotel Krat will be like a Hero Unit lure?
