Of Lords and their Legions (A Necron Overlord Quest)

Voting is open
I'm open to sending spies elsewhere in the Imperium, but it has to be up the chain of command. Somewhere where we will gets a heads up if any battlefleet or crusade is marshaling against us.
Hm
Maybe we can use our human auxiliarys to help infiltrate the higher ranks? Maybe give them an upgraded ship or 2 and get them to say that they're refugees? Idk im just spitballing

"Try to locate and spy on the regional/sector headquarters" sounds good and less likely to be super-difficult?
Well looking only at the numbers, 80Dc is 80Dc. Might as well aim high.

Only navy personnel would have a Imperial battleship. And former navy personnel would betray us in a heartbeat for the Imperium. We need a much longer time before we can feasibly trust human auxiliary, especially against their former allies.

The capital of the sector is Tarsov in the Sub sector of the same name. The closest thing to a "regional headquarters" would be segmmentum command....Which as you are in segmmentum solar...is Terra

It would however take a couple of years to even get to Terra due to how slow your drives are

Yeah, not into trying to negotiate peace with the Imperium. It's not liable to work, and we won't have the opportunity to raid or expand later. The closes thing to peace we can expect is for something else to come up while we fortify our gains.

We can get a peace, just like how the Tau got one and how other Imperial Protectorate species got one. Furthermore, we can and will raid in the interim using our captured ships. That and letting us freely pump everything into consuming our conquests and upgrading our gains through the stellar forge. Finally, we can build a Dolamon Gate for expansion among our fellow Necrons, where we can spend our ships freely once more.

Peace with the Imperium will be a very difficult thing to achieve, we have no bargaining chips, are far weaker than the Imperium and we're too close to Terra and theres no large threats like the Tyranids that can give us a temporary peace like the Tau, nothing short of a miracle will get the Imperium to even consider negotiating with us
As for the Admech... they do like their tech, and there are plenty of forge worlds that might be willing to trade resources for certain services and samples of technology
But at the same time, they're too dangerous for us to interact with on a large scale

For now i reckon we take a page out of the Tau's book and do things slow, steady and above all, quiet
Trade with planetary governors, build ourselves up, research black immortals (Space marine boarders will be our bane if we dont get the BI's) and make sure the Imperium doesnt notice us in their back garden
Hell maybe we can even edit administratum records to 'Forget' a few systems, errors like this happen frequently, and when supplies stop coming to these worlds we step in and offer help

The biggest problem is that we are to close to Terra. If you believe that we cannot negotiate with the Imperium then we are doomed to failure. Because we simply cannot stand against a Imperial Crusade, which will be called on us if we don't look for a peace treaty. Furthermore, the Imperium is already aware of our presence, trying to law low at this point will end in failure.

Random 3am question
@Lonkas Seeing as how we are in Segmentum Solar is there a chance that we might find the Voyager 1 and 2 probes (The probes that have left our solar system) and if theres anything particularly interesting that we might find on the golden discs that they carry (Specifically anything pointing to possible Necrontyr involvement in early humanity's culture)?

Speaking of, what happened to those probes in 40k? Were they mentioned at all?

You know while we are on the subject of history, what are the last recorded sightings the Necrontyr had of the Old Ones?

Firing on the last comatose survivors of their race from the webway into the warp. Though there were always rumours of survivors among the eldar

Anything's possible I suppose, though in my mind it's far more likely that the federation chased them down and put them in a museum or something

As far as I'm ware they're never mentioned

Sounds like it could be used for a random event roll imo

[X] Wrap It Up
- [X] Take all ships out of mothball
- [X] Subjugate worlds
-- [X] All Necron ships
--- [X] Sivana
- [X] Recruit and train a force of Sirano Marines
-[X] Delve into the possibilities of the cascade drive
-[X] Create marvels x2
-- [X] Have our Ethermancer begin construction of an Entropic Reactor sized to fit in a Great Scythe
-[X] Implement the improvements done to Kaisov upon the remainder of your newly captured territory
-- [X] All
-[X] focus upon resource collection
--[X] Daeloth
-[X] Root out any spies within the Yulenoth
-[X] Go on campaign

Right now this is plan I'm thinking will work best, but I'm willing to change if someone can come up with something good.

[X] things i wanted
-[X] Take all ships out of mothball
-[X] Subjugate worlds
--[X] All Necron ships
---[X] Sivana
-[X] Recruit and train a force of Sirano Marines
-[X] Pursue research into cascade based FTL communications
-[X] Attempt to restore the necron genetic code
-[X] Discover the secrets of the black immortals
--[X] Their armour. Harder than blackstone and yet lighter than living metal (requires 2 successes)

-[X] Implement the improvements done to Kaisov upon the remainder of your newly captured territory
--[X] All
-[X] focus upon resource collection
--[X] Daeloth
-[X] Root out any spies within the Yulenoth
-[X] Go on campaign

[X] The Final Push For Peace
- [X] Take all ships out of mothball
-[X] Subjugate worlds
We have a present and immediate problem, in that we do not have sufficient resources to support our forces. While we have the ability, point our fleet at an enemy outpost and lay waste to its defenders. Claim the world and its workforce for your own and have it pay tribute to us. (can be taken multiple times)
-- [X] Sivana with all active ships + Bane
-2x[X ] Recruit and train a force of Sirano Marines
The battles of Daeloth revealed a key weakness in our ability to defend against boarding actions. The Warrior and Immortal Cohorts aboard our smaller vessels were simply too doctrinal and inflexible to react swiftly and decisively to surprise attacks from unforeseen vectors. Utilising knowledge gained in our eradication of the Krork from our world it would seem that recruiting specialised void soldiers from the Sirano and equipping them appropriately would fill this gap in our doctrine. Though having them aboard a ship would be costly.
successes required - 2
DC 45
Cost 200
Increases maintenance cost of ships by 5%
-[X] Approach a polity
Though the imperium stands as the most powerful unified polity in known space. THere are other races and factions who it may be beneficial for us to meet. Send out our diplomats to meet with these entities and entreat them to come to the table.
DC variable
Actions required - 1
Cost 25 refined material
--[X] Which polity would you like to interact with (The adeptus mechanicus counts as a separate polity from the imperium of man for the purposes of this action)
Imperium Of Man
--[X] state the deal that you are proposing
Status Quo. We have retaken sector rightfully claimed by our Dynasty and will not expand into Imperial space if our claims are recognized as such. Furthermore, we would also be open to opening an embassy on a Imperial World to facilitate continued negotiations for future treaties and trade deals that would benefit both our polities. (Obviously we are only going to send this deal AFTER the attack in Sivana.)
-[X] pursue studies into utilising the Aether
The warp has ever been anathema to us. Though the old ones and even C'tan have claimed that we did possess a link to that realm it must have been too marginal to ever make use of. However, with the Sirano now aiding us, many of the secrets denied to us by biology may be revealed through their own "psionic" abilities. Allow me to experiment with them to divine how much use we may get out of our vassals
DC 80 (60) due to captured imperial psykers and resources
Cost 25
-[X] Delve into the possibilities of the cascade drive
The Sirano have done what was thought to be impossible and have discovered something that we had missed in our understanding of the universe. Yet there scientists know little of the secrets of antimatter and their greatest scientists are surely no match for the knowledge that I or any cryptek could bring to bear. Turn me loose upon the device and I will attempt to refine it into a far more capable form.
(may be taken multiple times)
DC 60
Cost 100
-[X] Seek a prophesy from your chronomancer. (may only be chosen once)
Have Aztemikh look beyond the veil of time. Learning the secrets known only by those who can pierce the mists of chance and probability. Seek from him the knowledge to govern your empire and act in ways that are in your interests. By warned however, there are infinite paths stretching into the future and even the masters can see only so much. The answers given are often vague and prone to misinterpretation. Though many do suspect that this is merely a method for chronomancers to avoid punishment for a false divination
costs
--[X] A re-roll to any single roll (this may be applied retroactively on any single roll during the turn)
-[X] Implement improvements in Kaisovs resource collection
Great one, Improvements have been made but the work is far from complete. Allow me to work again upon Kaisovs worlds to improve them. Though I admit, some caution in making this recommendation oh great and ever so noble lord. for , as i sure you eminence is well aware, the most laden caravans have been plundered and now it is upon the most famished that we must turn our gaze. Though lord, as i am sure that one who has such a scientific bend as yourself would know. Once a task has been completed in the first instance, it allows the rest to flow much smoother.
DC 80
Cost 400
-[X] Implement the improvements done to Kaisov upon the remainder of your newly captured territory
-- [X] All
-[X] Infiltrate our enemies
Our enemies are near endless and our knowledge of them is limited to what we stole from their fleeing fleets. We must infiltrate their worlds to discover their secrets. We must know their minds and the minds of their followers before their pitiable lifespans are shortened even further. (may be taken multiple times)
Actions required - 1
Dc 80
Cost 25
-[X] to which subsector do you send your spies
-- Sol the Imperiums capital system, Holy Terra itself if they can manage it
[X] on whom do you wish to spy (mechanicus/imperium are treated as separate)
-- The Imperium Of Man
-[X] Assist a vassal Implement improvements in Kaisovs resource collection
Help one of your department's pursue one of the goals that they are endeavoring to complete in your honor. Will add your relevant statistic to the roll

[X] The Final Push For Peace

The only thing I'd change, but that's personal preference, would be swapping aether sciences against black immortals.
Other than that I like it.
