...We could try for a decapitation strike. Then Bane in the event of the failure.

Edit: Heck, just attack while the Bane is on. Might as well throw everything into the table.

[X] Reactivate the Bane, Its effects have faded over the last few hours, therefore a full three days will be required for it to reach its conclusion. Nevertheless You must show that there are consequences to resistance!

we gave our word the bane would be activated...time to make do with that promise, it shows our court (and those of other courts) that we honor our word and that it holds weight.

And if imperials want to be dumb-ass apes then let them.

Can the Bane's effect be sufficiently narrowed to only the governor's city/hab block/palace?

You can focus it down to the level of individuals, but you don't know where he is. He'll your not even 100% sure he's in the capital at all. So if you were to be flossing it on him you would like have to at least target the whole city

I am allowing write ins if you guys think of alternate possibilities

[X] Reactivate the Bane, but swamp the air with openly broadcasted messages for surrender.
- Transmit images & audio recordings of what happened to the defending fleet
- Transmit video of the humans who are our newly well-treated subjects in Kaisov
- Promise rewards and salvation for those who embrace their new overlords and open up their gates (exclude them from the Bane's effect, elevate their living situation and status, etc.)

No need to get fancy. Just follow through.
The Governor would get assassinated soon enough under the Bane.

So I think we should give him the honor of a decapitation strike even if his palace might be a trap.

edit: I tire of using the Bane as our default answer. Can't we make like an Ork an attack?

I understand your annoyance with the bane, but the playerbase spent literally all their science effort before this turn building the thing. And specifically chose a research based dynasty for the purpose of building super weapons. It was always going to be effective against soft underpopulated targets like the world's you have gone after.

It's likely going to become increasingly less potent as time goes on both because the galaxy is large and the ship can only be in one place at a time. Secondly because more populated world's like hives and forge world's would take months before the bane is ready enough to fire

Tldr- don't worry The Bane will likely eventually be relegated to purely defence

Also the moratorium is still in effect guys, cease your voting

[X] Decapitation strike, The governor will be planning his defense from his palace in Ashtaka's largest city. Set the fleet upon the task of dismantling his center of power. Though the cities shields will be strong and its defenses thick, you will see if his successor is just as intransigent!

That Bane is pulling its economic weight. It sets an excellent precedent for us to possibly build another super weapon of some sort. Preferably something like a fleet killer of some sort.

We have nothing to lose.

We have plenty to lose, just, not all that likely to.

That said, we have little use for floating rock with no inrastructure or people.

We want to get something out of this after all. Although I will say that those 4 ships were a nice addition.

Oh and you think we can shift the blame for the Bane's continued use to the governor effectively causing the imperials to rat out their leader?

Yeah, agreed. Maybe we could try to build something that messes with the void vessel engines or Gellar field
