Well, of course Shade has. Henry is probably deliberately stopping himself from doing so.Shade... did you ever consider that the poison bolt was chosen because no one wanted to actually fight him.
No no, a poisoned bolt was used to spare him the humiliation of a lost duel, I'm sure.He couldn't be that scary now if a poisoned bolt claimed his life now, could he?
Isabella?
Pretty sure the reason Shade started that quest he's running is to stuff all the angst in. We're all so busy expecting everything to go wrong and horrible that we never expect all the fluff. This is without the fluffiest shade story I've read. I'm waiting for Cthulhu and other eldritch monsters to start appearing to balance the shade's scales of angst.
Should be Isabellashe said, then hesitated as she realized there was Josette by my side. "I-"
Wherein Karin is incredibly torn if she should be incredibly proud of her son, or if she should have tried harder to beat the stupidity the hell out of him..."Isabella," I said gently, a smile on my face as my heart drummed, "my common sense-my brain, everything tells me not to do this," I whispered. "But I must uphold my honor as a noble, and thus...I must do this."
Bravado is much less impressive when its source is not the knowledge you can deal with any consequences, but the assumption that there will be none."Also...he might not challenge me to a duel to begin with. He might be so happy in having his daughter back, he won't do anything. Come on..." which was what I was counting on. By being honest, and perhaps with an earnest plea from Josette, the duel might not happen to begin with.
If the Duke is weak against Poison.
It can only mean he's a Grass or a Fairy Type.
Use this information to your advantage!
Hopefully grass type. That way Raven has a type advantage. And Henry, too, since he's an air mage.
Uh... well theres probably a good reason that poison was used to kill him. Kinda missing the obvious here. The Duke D'Orleans was younger than Joseph, but still way past his prime.
He couldn't be that scary now if a poisoned bolt claimed his life now, could he?
Hmm,in case of a duel he could he name Josette as his champion?
She wouldn't do that. Only if she had nothing to lose. In this case, legally all is on the Duke's side and it would only cause immense trouble.Well this is going to end poorly.
Inb4 Karin finds out and single highhandedly starts a war and murders a Duke.
Where can I place a bet for fluff? This is going to end in blood and tears.
Bets on for the duel.
2 to 1 for a blood spilled.
5 to 1 for a maiming.
10 to 1 for a death.
Taking all bets!
There is a distinct possibility of that being true.I wonder how much Henry told Isabella about the circumstances behind Josette's disappearance? Maybe she thinks that Henry hiding Josette is a result of her warning him in that letter and that this is all her fault.
